1 Le début de la Bonne Nouvelle de Jésus-Christ, le Fils de Dieu.
The beginning of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST the Son of GOD.
2 Comme il est écrit dans les prophètes, « Voici que j'envoie mon messager devant ta face, qui préparera ton chemin devant toi:
As it is written in the prophets, "Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee:"
3 la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert, Préparez le chemin du Seigneur! Rends ses chemins droits! »
and again, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight:" accordingly John came baptizing in the wilderness,
4 Jean vint baptiser dans le désert et prêcher le baptême de repentance pour le pardon des péchés.
and preaching the baptism of repentance in order to the remission of sins;
5 Tout le pays de Judée et tous ceux de Jérusalem se rendirent auprès de lui. Ils se faisaient baptiser par lui dans le Jourdain, en confessant leurs péchés.
and all the country of Judea, and those of Jerusalem, went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Jean était vêtu de poils de chameau et portait une ceinture de cuir à la taille. Il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage.
And John was clothed with camels hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins, and he lived upon locusts and wild honey: and he preached,
7 Il prêchait, disant: « Après moi vient celui qui est plus puissant que moi, et dont je ne suis pas digne de délier la lanière de ses sandales.
saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop and unloose.
8 Je vous ai baptisés dans l'eau, mais lui vous baptisera dans l'Esprit Saint. »
I indeed have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the holy Spirit.
9 En ce temps-là, Jésus vint de Nazareth, en Galilée, et fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
And in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan:
10 Aussitôt remonté de l'eau, il vit les cieux se fendre et l'Esprit descendre sur lui comme une colombe.
and as soon as He came up from the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him.
11 Une voix sortit du ciel: « Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j'ai mis toute mon affection. »
And there was a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
12 Aussitôt, l'Esprit le poussa dans le désert.
And immediately the Spirit taketh Him out into the wilderness:
13 Il resta là, dans le désert, quarante jours, tenté par Satan. Il était avec les animaux sauvages, et les anges le servaient.
and He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and among the wild beasts: and angels ministred unto Him.
14 Après que Jean eut été mis en détention, Jésus vint en Galilée, prêchant la Bonne Nouvelle du Royaume de Dieu,
Now after John was cast into prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 et disant: « Le temps est accompli, et le Royaume de Dieu est tout proche. Repentez-vous, et croyez à la Bonne Nouvelle. »
and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.
16 En passant le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et André, le frère de Simon, qui jetaient un filet dans la mer, car ils étaient pêcheurs.
And as He was walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea,
17 Jésus leur dit: « Venez après moi, et je ferai de vous des pêcheurs d'hommes. »
(for they were fishermen, ) and Jesus said unto them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men:
18 Aussitôt, ils laissèrent leurs filets et le suivirent.
and immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
19 S'éloignant un peu de là, il vit Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère, qui étaient aussi dans la barque pour réparer les filets.
And going a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship, mending their nets, and immediately called them likewise:
20 Aussitôt, il les appela, et ils laissèrent leur père Zébédée dans la barque avec les mercenaires, et le suivirent.
and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the men he had hired, and went along with Him.
21 Ils se rendirent à Capernaüm, et aussitôt, le jour du sabbat, il entra dans la synagogue et enseigna.
And they went into Capernaum: and going directly into the synagogue on the sabbath, He taught the people: and they were astonished at his doctrine;
22 Ils étaient étonnés de son enseignement, car il les enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non comme les scribes.
for He taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Aussitôt, il se trouva dans leur synagogue un homme possédé d'un esprit impur, qui poussa un cri
And there was in their synagogue a man with an impure spirit,
24 en disant: « Ah! qu'avons-nous à faire avec toi, Jésus, Nazaréen? Es-tu venu pour nous détruire? Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu! »
and he cried out, saying, Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee, who thou art, the holy one of God.
25 Jésus le réprimanda en disant: « Tais-toi, et sors de lui! »
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him: and the impure spirit threw him into convulsions,
26 L'esprit impur, qui le convulsait et criait d'une voix forte, sortit de lui.
and roaring with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Tous étaient stupéfaits, et ils s'interrogeaient entre eux, disant: Qu'est-ce que cela? Une nouvelle doctrine? Car il commande avec autorité même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent! »
And they were all amazed, so that they inquired of each other, saying, What is this, what new kind of doctrine is this? for He commands with authority even the impure spirits, and they obey Him.
28 La nouvelle de sa venue se répandit aussitôt partout dans toute la région de la Galilée et ses environs.
And straitway his fame spread into all the country round about Galilee.
29 Aussitôt sortis de la synagogue, ils entrèrent dans la maison de Simon et d'André, avec Jacques et Jean.
And as soon as they came out of the synagogue, they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, together with James and John.
30 Or, la mère de la femme de Simon était malade de la fièvre, et aussitôt on lui en parla.
And Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever: and they immediately told Him of her:
31 Il vint, la prit par la main et la fit lever. La fièvre la quitta aussitôt, et elle les servit.
and He came to her, and taking her by the hand raised her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she waited upon them.
32 Le soir, au coucher du soleil, on lui amena tous les malades et ceux qui étaient possédés par des démons.
And in the evening, when the sun set, they brought to Him all that were ill, and demoniacs:
33 Toute la ville était rassemblée à la porte.
and the whole city was gathered together at the door;
34 Il guérit beaucoup de malades atteints de diverses maladies et chassa beaucoup de démons. Il ne permettait pas aux démons de parler, car ils le connaissaient.
and He healed many that were ill of various diseases, and cast out many devils, and suffered not the devils to say that they knew Him.
35 De bon matin, comme il faisait encore nuit, il se leva et sortit, et s'en alla dans un lieu désert, où il pria.
And in the morning, before it was light, He rose up and went out, and retired into a solitary place, and there prayed.
36 Simon et ceux qui étaient avec lui le cherchaient.
And Simon, and they that were with him, went in quest of Him:
37 Ils le trouvèrent et lui dirent: « Tout le monde te cherche. »
and when they found Him, they said to Him, all the people are seeking for thee.
38 Il leur dit: « Allons ailleurs, dans les villes voisines, afin que j'y prêche aussi, car c'est pour cela que je suis sorti. »
And He saith unto them, Let us go into the neighbouring towns, that I may preach there also; for this was the end of my coming.
39 Il allait dans leurs synagogues, dans toute la Galilée, prêchant et chassant les démons.
And He went preaching in their synagogues, through all Galilee, and casting out devils.
40 Un lépreux s'approcha de lui, le supplia, se mit à genoux devant lui et lui dit: « Si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur. »
And there came to Him a leper, beseeching Him, and kneeling down to Him, and saying unto Him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me:
41 Ému de compassion, il étendit sa main, le toucha et lui dit: « Je le veux. Sois purifié. »
and Jesus, being moved with compassion, stretched out his hand and touched him, and saith unto Him, I will;
42 Dès qu'il eut dit cela, la lèpre se retira aussitôt de lui et il fut rendu pur.
be thou healed: and as soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was healed.
43 Il lui donna un avertissement strict et le renvoya aussitôt,
And he gave him a strict charge, and immediately dismissed him,
44 en lui disant: « Veille à ne rien dire à personne, mais va te montrer au prêtre et offre pour ta purification les choses que Moïse a prescrites, en témoignage pour eux. »
and saith unto him, See thou tell no man: but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy purification what Moses has commanded, for a testimony to them.
45 Mais il sortit, et se mit à faire beaucoup de publicité, et à répandre l'affaire, de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus entrer ouvertement dans une ville, mais se tenait dehors, dans des lieux déserts. Les gens venaient à lui de partout.
But when he was gone he began to publish it much, and to spread abroad the report: so that Jesus could no more go openly into the city, but kept out in country places: and they came to Him from all parts.
