Luc 6
1 Or, le deuxième sabbat après le premier, il parcourait les champs de blé. Ses disciples arrachaient les épis et mangeaient en les frottant dans leurs mains.
And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through corn-fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and ate, rubbing [them] in [their] hands.
2 Mais quelques-uns des pharisiens leur dirent: « Pourquoi faites-vous ce qu'il n'est pas permis de faire le jour du sabbat? »
And certain of the Pharisees said to them, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath-days?
3 Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: « N'avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David quand il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui,
And Jesus answering them, said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was hungry, and they who were with him;
4 comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, prit et mangea le pain de proposition, et en donna aussi à ceux qui étaient avec lui, ce qu'il n'est pas permis de manger, si ce n'est pour les prêtres seuls? »
How he went into the house of God, and took and ate the show-bread, and gave also to them that were with him, which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5 Il leur répondit: « Le Fils de l'homme est maître du sabbat. »
And he said to them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
6 Un autre sabbat, il entra dans la synagogue et enseigna. Il y avait là un homme, dont la main droite était desséchée.
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue, and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered:
7 Les scribes et les pharisiens l'observaient, pour voir s'il ferait une guérison le jour du sabbat, afin de trouver une accusation contre lui.
And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, [to see] whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find an accusation against him.
8 Mais Jésus connaissait leurs pensées, et il dit à l'homme qui avait la main desséchée: « Lève-toi et tiens-toi au milieu. » Il se leva et se tint debout.
But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose, and stood forth.
9 Alors Jésus leur dit: « Je vais vous poser une question: est-il permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire du bien ou de faire du mal? De sauver une vie, ou de tuer? »
Then said Jesus to them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath-days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy [it]?
10 Il les regarda tous, et dit à l'homme: « Étends ta main. » Il le fit, et sa main fut rendue aussi saine que l'autre.
And looking around upon them all, he said to the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11 Mais ils étaient remplis de rage, et ils parlaient entre eux de ce qu'ils pourraient faire à Jésus.
And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12 En ces jours-là, il se rendit sur la montagne pour prier, et il passa toute la nuit à prier Dieu.
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out to a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Le jour venu, il appela ses disciples, et il en choisit douze, qu'il appela aussi apôtres:
And when it was day, he called [to him] his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named Apostles;
14 Simon, qu'il appela aussi Pierre; André, son frère; Jacques; Jean; Philippe; Barthélemy;
Simon (whom he also named Peter) and Andrew his brother, James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Matthieu; Thomas; Jacques, fils d'Alphée; Simon, appelé le Zélote;
Matthew and Thomas, James the [son] of Alpheus, and Simon called Zelotes,
16 Judas, fils de Jacques; et Judas Iscariote, qui devint aussi un traître.
And Judas [the brother] of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also was the traitor.
17 Il descendit avec eux et se tint sur un terrain plat, en compagnie d'une foule de ses disciples et d'un grand nombre de gens de toute la Judée, de Jérusalem et de la côte maritime de Tyr et de Sidon, qui venaient l'entendre et se faire guérir de leurs maladies,
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain; and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the sea-coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 ainsi que de ceux qui étaient tourmentés par des esprits impurs; et ils étaient guéris.
And they that were afflicted with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
19 Toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, car une force sortait de lui et les guérissait tous.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him; for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.
20 Il leva les yeux vers ses disciples, et dit: « Heureux vous qui êtes pauvres, car le Royaume de Dieu est à vous.
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Heureux ceux qui ont faim maintenant, car vous serez comblé. Heureux êtes-vous ceux qui pleurent maintenant, car vous allez rire.
Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Heureux es-tu quand les hommes te haïssent, quand ils t'excluent et se moquent de toi, et qu'ils jettent ton nom en pâture, à cause du Fils de l'homme.
Blessed are ye when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and shall reproach [you], and cast out your name as evil, on account of the son of man.
23 Réjouissez-vous en ce jour-là et tressaillez de joie, car voici que votre récompense est grande dans les cieux, car leurs pères ont agi de même envers les prophètes.
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for behold, your reward [is] great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers to the prophets.
24 « Mais malheur à vous qui êtes riches! Car vous avez reçu votre consolation.
But woe to you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Malheur à vous, vous qui êtes rassasiés maintenant, car vous aurez faim. Malheur à vous qui riez maintenant, car vous serez en deuil et pleurerez.
Woe to you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe to you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Malheur, quand les hommes disent du bien de toi, car leurs pères ont fait la même chose aux faux prophètes.
Woe to you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 « Mais moi, je vous dis, à vous qui m'écoutez: aimez vos ennemis, faites du bien à ceux qui vous haïssent,
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to them who hate you,
28 bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, et priez pour ceux qui vous maltraitent.
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them who despitefully use you.
29 A celui qui te frappe sur la joue, présente aussi l'autre; et à celui qui te prend ton manteau, ne refuse pas aussi ta tunique.
And to him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek, offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke, forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
30 Donne à quiconque te demande, et ne demande pas à celui qui te prive de tes biens de te les rendre.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask [them] not again.
31 « Comme vous voulez que les gens vous fassent, faites-leur exactement la même chose.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 « Si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, en quoi cela vous honore-t-il? Car même les pécheurs aiment ceux qui les aiment.
For if ye love them who love you, what thanks have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 Si vous faites du bien à ceux qui vous font du bien, quel honneur cela vous fait-il? Car même les pécheurs font de même.
And if ye do good to them who do good to you, what thanks have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 Si vous prêtez à ceux dont vous espérez recevoir, quel mérite avez-vous? Les pécheurs eux-mêmes prêtent aux pécheurs, pour en recevoir autant en retour.
And if ye lend [to them] from whom ye hope to receive, what thanks have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much in return.
35 Mais aimez vos ennemis, faites le bien, prêtez sans rien attendre en retour, et votre récompense sera grande, et vous serez les enfants du Très-Haut, car il est bon envers les ingrats et les méchants.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind to the unthankful and [to] the evil.
36 « Soyez donc miséricordieux, comme votre Père est aussi miséricordieux.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Ne jugez pas, et vous ne serez pas jugés. Ne condamnez pas, et tu ne seras pas condamné. Libérez-vous, et tu seras libéré.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 « Donnez, et l'on vous donnera: on vous donnera une bonne mesure, tassée, secouée et débordante. Car c'est avec la même mesure que vous mesurez qu'on vous mesurera. »
Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye give [to others], it shall be measured to you again.
39 Il leur adressa une parabole. « Un aveugle peut-il guider un aveugle? Ne tomberont-ils pas tous deux dans une fosse?
And he spoke a parable to them; Can the blind lead the blind? will they not both fall into the ditch?
40 Un disciple n'est pas au-dessus de son maître, mais chacun, lorsqu'il sera bien formé, sera comme son maître.
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect, shall be as his master.
41 Pourquoi vois-tu la paille qui est dans l'œil de ton frère, mais ne considères-tu pas la poutre qui est dans ton propre œil?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thy own eye?
42 Ou comment peux-tu dire à ton frère: « Mon frère, laisse-moi enlever la paille qui est dans ton œil », alors que tu ne vois pas toi-même la poutre qui est dans ton œil? Hypocrite! Enlève d'abord la poutre de ton œil, et alors tu pourras voir clairement pour enlever la paille qui est dans l'œil de ton frère.
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thy eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thy own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thy own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
43 « Car il n'y a pas de bon arbre qui produise des fruits pourris, ni d'arbre pourri qui produise de bons fruits.
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 Car on reconnaît chaque arbre à son fruit. Car on ne cueille pas des figues sur des épines, ni des raisins sur un buisson de ronces.
For every tree is known by its own fruit: for from thorns men do not gather figs, nor from a bramble bush do they gather grapes.
45 L'homme bon tire du bon trésor de son cœur ce qui est bon, et l'homme mauvais tire du mauvais trésor de son cœur ce qui est mauvais, car c'est de l'abondance du cœur que parle la bouche.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil: for from the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 Pourquoi m'appelez-vous: « Seigneur, Seigneur », et ne faites-vous pas ce que je dis?
And why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Quiconque vient à moi, entend mes paroles et les met en pratique, je vous montrerai à qui il est semblable.
Whoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like.
48 Il est semblable à un homme qui construit une maison, qui a creusé et approfondi, et qui a posé le fondement sur le roc. Quand il y a eu une inondation, le torrent s'est jeté contre cette maison et n'a pu l'ébranler, parce qu'elle était fondée sur le roc.
He is like a man who built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 Mais celui qui entend et ne fait pas, est semblable à un homme qui a bâti sur la terre une maison sans fondement, contre laquelle le torrent s'est brisé, et aussitôt elle est tombée; et la ruine de cette maison a été grande. »
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that, without a foundation, built a house on the earth, against which the stream beat vehemently, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.
