1 Après ces choses, Jésus se révéla de nouveau aux disciples, sur la mer de Tibériade. Il se révéla ainsi.
After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself this way.
2 Simon Pierre, Thomas appelé Didyme, Nathanaël, de Cana en Galilée, les fils de Zébédée et deux autres de ses disciples étaient ensemble.
Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
3 Simon Pierre leur dit: « Je vais pêcher. » Ils lui dirent: « Nous aussi, nous venons avec toi. » Ils sortirent immédiatement et entrèrent dans la barque. Cette nuit-là, ils ne prirent rien.
Simon Peter said to them, "I'm going fishing." They told him, "We are also coming with you." They went out, and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing.
4 Mais, comme le jour était déjà venu, Jésus se tenait sur la plage; or les disciples ne savaient pas que c'était Jésus.
But when day had already come, Jesus stood on the beach, yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
5 Jésus leur dit donc: « Enfants, avez-vous quelque chose à manger? » Ils lui ont répondu: « Non. »
Jesus therefore said to them, "Children, have you anything to eat?" They answered him, "No."
6 Il leur dit: « Jetez le filet sur le côté droit de la barque, et vous en trouverez. » Ils le jetèrent donc, et maintenant ils ne purent le tirer pour la multitude des poissons.
He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." They cast it therefore, and now they weren't able to draw it in for the multitude of fish.
7 Le disciple que Jésus aimait dit donc à Pierre: « C'est le Seigneur! » Lorsque Simon-Pierre entendit que c'était le Seigneur, il s'enveloppa de son manteau, car il était nu, et se jeta dans la mer.
That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Lord." So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around him (for he was naked), and threw himself into the sea.
8 Mais les autres disciples vinrent dans la petite barque (car ils n'étaient pas loin de la terre, mais à environ deux cents coudées), traînant le filet plein de poissons.
But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away), dragging the net full of fish.
9 Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent sur la terre ferme, ils virent là un feu de charbons, avec du poisson et du pain posés dessus.
So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish placed on it, and bread.
10 Jésus leur dit: « Apportez quelques-uns des poissons que vous venez de pêcher. »
Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."
11 Simon-Pierre monta et attira à terre le filet, plein de cent cinquante-trois gros poissons. Même s'il y en avait tant, le filet ne se déchira pas.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fish, one hundred fifty-three; and even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
12 Jésus leur dit: « Venez prendre le petit déjeuner. » Aucun des disciples n'a osé lui demander: « Qui es-tu? », sachant que c'était le Seigneur.
Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast." None of the disciples dared inquire of him, "Who are you?" knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Alors Jésus s'approcha, prit le pain et le leur donna, ainsi que le poisson.
Then Jesus came and took the bread, gave it to them, and the fish likewise.
14 C'est maintenant la troisième fois que Jésus se révèle à ses disciples après sa résurrection des morts.
This is now the third time that Jesus was revealed to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.
15 Après qu'ils eurent pris leur repas, Jésus dit à Simon-Pierre: « Simon, fils de Jonas, m'aimes-tu plus que ceux-ci? » Il lui dit: « Oui, Seigneur; tu sais que j'ai de l'affection pour toi. » Il lui dit: « Pais mes agneaux. »
So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
16 Il lui dit une seconde fois: « Simon, fils de Jonas, m'aimes-tu? » Il lui dit: « Oui, Seigneur; tu sais que j'ai de l'affection pour toi. » Il lui dit: « Sers mes brebis. »
He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."
17 Il lui dit pour la troisième fois: « Simon, fils de Jonas, as-tu de l'affection pour moi? » Pierre fut affligé parce qu'il lui demanda pour la troisième fois: « As-tu de l'affection pour moi? » Il lui répondit: « Seigneur, tu sais tout. Tu sais que j'ai de l'affection pour toi. » Jésus lui dit: « Pais mes brebis.
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.
18 En vérité, je te le dis, quand tu étais jeune, tu t'habillais toi-même et tu marchais où tu voulais. Mais quand vous serez vieux, vous étendrez vos mains, et un autre vous habillera et vous portera là où vous ne voulez pas aller. »
Truly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself, and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you, and carry you where you do not want to go."
19 Or, il disait cela pour signifier par quel genre de mort il glorifierait Dieu. Après avoir dit cela, il lui dit: « Suis-moi. »
Now he said this, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. When he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."
20 Alors Pierre, se retournant, vit un disciple qui le suivait. C'était le disciple que Jésus aimait, celui qui s'était aussi appuyé sur la poitrine de Jésus au cours du repas et avait demandé: « Seigneur, qui va te trahir? »
Then Peter, turning around, saw a disciple following. This was the disciple whom Jesus sincerely loved, the one who had also leaned on Jesus' chest at the evening meal and asked, "Lord, who is going to betray You?"
21 Pierre, le voyant, dit à Jésus: « Seigneur, qu'en est-il de cet homme? »
Peter seeing him, said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?"
22 Jésus lui dit: « Si je désire qu'il reste jusqu'à ce que je vienne, que t'importe? Tu me suis. »
Jesus said to him, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You follow me."
23 Cette parole s'est donc répandue parmi les frères, selon laquelle ce disciple ne mourrait pas. Or Jésus ne lui a pas dit qu'il ne mourrait pas, mais: « Si je désire qu'il reste jusqu'à ce que je vienne, que t'importe? »
This saying therefore went out among the brothers, that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?"
24 Voici le disciple qui rend témoignage de ces choses, et qui a écrit ces choses. Nous savons que son témoignage est vrai.
This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his witness is true.
25 Il y a aussi beaucoup d'autres choses que Jésus a faites, et si elles étaient toutes écrites, je suppose que le monde lui-même n'aurait pas de place pour les livres qui seraient écrits.
There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, I suppose that even the world itself would not have room for the books that would be written.
