1 Le premier jour de la semaine, Marie de Magdala se rendit de bonne heure, comme il faisait encore nuit, au sépulcre, et elle vit que la pierre avait été ôtée du sépulcre.
The first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, to the sepulcher, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulcher.
2 Elle courut donc et vint trouver Simon Pierre et l'autre disciple que Jésus aimait, et leur dit: « Ils ont enlevé le Seigneur du tombeau, et nous ne savons pas où ils l'ont mis! »
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Pierre et l'autre disciple sortirent donc, et ils allèrent vers le sépulcre.
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulcher.
4 Ils couraient tous deux ensemble. L'autre disciple devança Pierre et arriva le premier au tombeau.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.
5 Se baissant pour regarder, il vit les linges qui étaient là; mais il n'entra pas.
And he stooping down, saw the linen cloths lying; yet he went not in.
6 Alors Simon-Pierre, qui le suivait, entra dans le tombeau. Il vit les linges couchés,
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulcher, and seeth the linen cloths lying;
7 et le linge qui avait été sur la tête de Jésus, non pas couché avec les linges, mais roulé dans un endroit à part.
And the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8 Alors l'autre disciple, qui était arrivé le premier au sépulcre, entra aussi; il vit et crut.
Then went in also that other disciple who came first to the sepulcher, and he saw, and believed.
9 Car ils ne connaissaient pas encore l'Écriture, selon laquelle il faut qu'il ressuscite des morts.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
10 Les disciples s'en retournèrent donc chez eux.
Then the disciples went away again to their own home.
11 Marie se tenait dehors, près du tombeau, et elle pleurait. Comme elle pleurait, elle se baissa et regarda dans le tombeau,
But Mary stood without at the sepulcher weeping: and as she wept she stooped down [to look] into the sepulcher,
12 et elle vit deux anges en blanc assis, l'un à la tête et l'autre aux pieds, là où le corps de Jésus avait été couché.
And seeth two angels in white, sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 Ils lui demandèrent: « Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? » Elle leur dit: « Parce qu'ils ont emmené mon Seigneur, et je ne sais pas où ils l'ont mis. »
And they say to her, Woman, why weepest thou? she saith to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
14 En disant cela, elle se retourna et vit Jésus debout, et elle ne savait pas que c'était Jésus.
And when she had thus said, she turned herself about, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
15 Jésus lui dit: « Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? Qui cherches-tu? » Elle, supposant que c'était le jardinier, lui dit: « Monsieur, si vous l'avez emporté, dites-moi où vous l'avez déposé, et je l'emporterai. »
Jesus saith to her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith to him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Jésus lui dit: « Marie. » Elle s'est retournée et lui a dit: « Rabboni! », ce qui veut dire: « Maître! ».
Jesus saith to her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith to him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.
17 Jésus lui dit: « Ne me retiens pas, car je ne suis pas encore monté vers mon Père; mais va vers mes frères et dis-leur: « Je monte vers mon Père et votre Père, vers mon Dieu et votre Dieu ». »
Jesus saith to her, Touch me not: for I have not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say to them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and [to] my God and your God.
18 Marie-Madeleine vint annoncer aux disciples qu'elle avait vu le Seigneur, et qu'il lui avait dit ces choses.
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and [that] he had spoken these things to her.
19 Le soir de ce jour, premier jour de la semaine, les portes du lieu où les disciples étaient assemblés étant fermées à clé, par crainte des Juifs, Jésus vint se placer au milieu d'eux et leur dit: « La paix soit avec vous. »
Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, Peace [be] to you.
20 Après avoir dit cela, il leur montra ses mains et son côté. Les disciples furent donc dans la joie en voyant le Seigneur.
And when he had so said, he showed to them [his] hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad when they saw the Lord.
21 Jésus leur dit alors de nouveau: « La paix soit avec vous. Comme le Père m'a envoyé, moi aussi je vous envoie. »
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] to you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so I send you.
22 Après avoir dit cela, il souffla sur eux, et leur dit: Recevez l'Esprit Saint.
And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith to them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit.
23 Si vous pardonnez les péchés de quelqu'un, ils lui sont pardonnés. Si vous retenez les péchés de quelqu'un, ils ont été retenus. »
Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; [and] whose soever [sins] ye retain, they are retained.
24 Mais Thomas, l'un des douze, appelé Didyme, n'était pas avec eux lorsque Jésus vint.
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Les autres disciples lui dirent donc: « Nous avons vu le Seigneur! » Mais il leur dit: « Si je ne vois dans ses mains l'empreinte des clous, si je ne mets pas mon doigt dans l'empreinte des clous, et si je ne mets pas ma main dans son côté, je ne croirai pas. »
The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 Huit jours après, ses disciples étaient de nouveau à l'intérieur et Thomas était avec eux. Jésus vint, les portes étant fermées, se plaça au milieu et dit: « La paix soit avec vous. »
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] to you.
27 Puis il dit à Thomas: « Avance ici ton doigt, et regarde mes mains. Avance ici ta main, et mets-la dans mon côté. Ne sois pas incrédule, mais croyant. »
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.
28 Thomas lui répondit: « Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu! »
And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jésus lui dit: « Parce que tu m'as vu, tu as cru. Heureux ceux qui n'ont pas vu et qui ont cru. »
Jesus saith to him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.
30 Jésus a fait encore beaucoup d'autres miracles en présence de ses disciples, qui ne sont pas écrits dans ce livre;
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book.
31 mais ces choses ont été écrites afin que vous croyiez que Jésus est le Christ, le Fils de Dieu, et qu'en croyant vous ayez la vie en son nom.
But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.
