Jean 17

1 Jésus dit ces choses, puis, levant les yeux au ciel, il dit: « Père, le moment est venu. Glorifie ton Fils, afin que ton Fils aussi te glorifie.

These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the Son may glorify thee:

2 De même que tu lui as donné autorité sur toute chair, de même il donnera la vie éternelle à tous ceux que tu lui as donnés. (aiōnios g166)

even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that whatsoever thou hast given him, to them he should give eternal life. (aiōnios g166)

3 La vie éternelle, c'est qu'ils te connaissent, toi, le seul vrai Dieu, et celui que tu as envoyé, Jésus-Christ. (aiōnios g166)

And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)

4 Je t'ai glorifié sur la terre. J'ai accompli l'œuvre que tu m'as donnée à faire.

I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.

5 Maintenant, Père, glorifie-moi auprès de toi-même de la gloire que j'avais auprès de toi avant que le monde n'existe.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

6 « J'ai révélé ton nom au peuple que tu m'as donné hors du monde. Ils étaient à toi, et tu me les as donnés. Ils ont gardé ta parole.

I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

7 Ils savent maintenant que tout ce que tu m'as donné vient de toi,

Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:

8 car les paroles que tu m'as données, je les leur ai données; ils les ont reçues, et ils ont su avec certitude que je venais de toi. Ils ont cru que tu m'avais envoyé.

for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received [them], and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.

9 Je prie pour eux. Je ne prie pas pour le monde, mais pour ceux que tu m'as donnés, car ils sont à toi.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:

10 Tout ce qui est à moi est à toi, et tu es à moi, et je suis glorifié en eux.

and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.

11 Je ne suis plus dans le monde, mais eux sont dans le monde, et je viens à toi. Père saint, garde-les par ton nom que tu m'as donné, afin qu'ils soient un, comme nous le sommes.

And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we [are].

12 Pendant que j'étais avec eux dans le monde, je les ai gardés en ton nom. J'ai gardé ceux que tu m'as donnés. Aucun d'eux n'est perdu, si ce n'est le fils de la destruction, afin que l'Écriture s'accomplisse.

While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 Mais maintenant, je viens à toi, et je dis ces choses dans le monde, afin qu'ils aient ma joie parfaite en eux-mêmes.

But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 Je leur ai donné votre parole. Le monde les a haïs parce qu'ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.

I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 Je ne te prie pas de les retirer du monde, mais de les préserver du malin.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil [one].

16 Ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctifie-les dans ta vérité. Ta parole est vérité.

Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.

18 De même que tu m'as envoyé dans le monde, de même je les ai envoyés dans le monde.

As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.

19 C'est pour eux que je me sanctifie, afin qu'eux aussi soient sanctifiés dans la vérité.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

20 Ce n'est pas pour eux seulement que je prie, mais aussi pour ceux qui croiront en moi par leur parole,

Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;

21 afin que tous soient un, comme toi, Père, tu es en moi, et moi en toi, afin qu'eux aussi soient un en nous, pour que le monde croie que tu m'as envoyé.

that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

22 La gloire que tu m'as donnée, je la leur ai donnée, afin qu'ils soient un, comme nous sommes un,

And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we [are] one;

23 moi en eux, et toi en moi, pour qu'ils deviennent un, afin que le monde sache que tu m'as envoyé et que tu les as aimés comme tu m'as aimé.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

24 Père, je désire que ceux que tu m'as donnés soient aussi avec moi là où je suis, afin qu'ils voient la gloire que tu m'as donnée, car tu m'as aimé avant la fondation du monde.

Father, that which thou hast given me, I will that, where I am, they also may be with me; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 Père juste, le monde ne t'a pas connu, mais moi je t'ai connu, et eux ont su que tu m'avais envoyé.

O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;

26 Je leur ai fait connaître ton nom, et je le ferai connaître, afin que l'amour dont tu m'as aimé soit en eux, et que je sois en eux. »

and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
