Joël 3
1 « Car voici, en ces jours-là, et pendant ce temps, quand je restaurerai la fortune de Juda et de Jérusalem,
For lo! in those days, and at that time, —when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 Je rassemblerai toutes les nations, et les fera descendre dans la vallée de Josaphat; et je les jugerai là-bas, pour mon peuple, et pour mon héritage, Israël, qu'ils ont dispersé parmi les nations. Ils ont divisé mes terres,
Then will I gather all the nations, and bring them down into the Vale of Jehoshaphat, —and will enter into judgment with them there, concerning my people, and mine inheritance Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, and, my land, they apportioned;
3 et j'ai tiré au sort mon peuple, et ont donné un garçon pour une prostituée, et vendu une fille pour du vin, afin qu'ils puissent boire.
And, for my people, they cast lots, —and gave a boy for a harlot, and a girl sold they for wine—and drank.
4 « Oui, et qu'êtes-vous pour moi, Tyr et Sidon, et toutes les régions de la Philistie? Vous me rembourserez? Et si vous me remboursez, Je vous renverrai rapidement et promptement votre remboursement sur votre propre tête.
Moreover also, what have, ye, to do with me, O Tyre and Zidon, and all the circuit of Palestine? A recompense, are ye paying back unto me? But, though ye should make a recompense unto me, swiftly, speedily, would I return your recompense upon your own head.
5 Parce que tu as pris mon argent et mon or, et ont transporté mes plus beaux trésors dans vos temples,
Because, my silver and my gold, ye took away, —and, my richly beautiful things, carried ye into your temples;
6 et ils ont vendu les enfants de Juda et les enfants de Jérusalem aux fils des Grecs, afin que tu les éloignes de leur frontière.
And, the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem, ye sold to the sons of Greece, —that they might be far removed from their own boundary.
7 Voici, je vais les faire sortir du lieu où vous les avez vendus, et vous rendrez votre remboursement sur votre propre tête;
Behold me! rousing them up out of the place whither ye sold them, —So will I bring back your dealing upon your own head.
8 et je vendrai tes fils et tes filles entre les mains des enfants de Juda, et ils les vendront aux hommes de Saba, à une nation lointaine, car Yahvé l'a dit. »
And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to Sabeans, unto a nation afar off, —for, Yahweh, hath spoken.
9 Proclamez ceci parmi les nations: « Préparez-vous à la guerre! Réveillez les hommes forts. Que tous les guerriers s'approchent. Laissez-les monter.
Proclaim ye this, among the nations, Hallow a war, rouse the mighty ones, let them draw near, come up, all the men of war!
10 Transformez vos socs en épées, et vos crochets d'élagage en lances. Que le faible dise: « Je suis fort.
Beat your plough-shares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears, —as for the weak, let him say, mighty, I am.
11 Dépêchez-vous et venez, vous toutes les nations environnantes, et rassemblez-vous. » Fais descendre tes puissants, Yahvé.
Give help—and come in, all ye nations on every side, and gather yourselves together, —Thither, bring down, O Yahweh, thy mighty ones!
12 « Que les nations se réveillent! et de monter dans la vallée de Josaphat; car c'est là que je m'assiérai pour juger toutes les nations environnantes.
Let the nations, be roused, and come up, into the Vale of Jehoshaphat, —for, there, will I sit to judge all the nations, on every side.
13 Mettez la faucille; car la récolte est mûre. Venez, foulez, car le pressoir est plein, les cuves débordent, car leur méchanceté est grande. »
Thrust ye in the vintage knife, for, grown ripe, is the vintage, —Go in, tread down, for full is the winepress, flow over do the vats, for abundant is their wickedness.
14 Des multitudes, des multitudes dans la vallée de la décision! Car le jour de Yahvé est proche dans la vallée de la décision.
Multitudes, multitudes, in the vale of strict decision, —for near is the day of Yahweh, in the vale of strict decision.
15 Le soleil et la lune sont obscurcis, et les étoiles retirent leur éclat.
The sun and the moon, have become dark, —and, the stars, have withdrawn their shining,
16 De Sion, Yahvé rugira, et le tonnerre de Jérusalem; et les cieux et la terre trembleront; mais Yahvé sera un refuge pour son peuple, et une forteresse pour les enfants d'Israël.
And, Yahweh, out of Zion, will roar, and, out of Jerusalem, will utter his voice, and the heavens and the earth, shall tremble, —but, Yahweh, shall be a shelter to his people, and a refuge to the sons of Israel.
17 « Ainsi, vous saurez que je suis Yahvé, votre Dieu, qui habite à Sion, ma montagne sainte. Alors Jérusalem sera sainte, et aucun étranger ne passera plus par elle.
So shall ye know that, I, Yahweh, am your God, making my habitation in Zion my holy mountain, —So shall, Jerusalem, be, holy, and, foreigners, shall pass through her no more.
18 Cela arrivera en ce jour-là, que les montagnes laisseront tomber du vin doux, les collines couleront de lait, tous les ruisseaux de Juda couleront avec des eaux; et une fontaine jaillira de la maison de Yahvé, et arrosera la vallée de Shittim.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow down with milk, and, all the channels of Judah, shall flow down with waters, —and, a spring, out of the house of Yahweh, shall come forth, and shall water the torrent-valley of the acacias.
19 L'Égypte sera une désolation et Edom sera un désert, pour les violences faites aux enfants de Juda, parce qu'ils ont versé du sang innocent dans leur pays.
Egypt, to a desolation, shall be turned, and, Edom, to a desert most desolate, shall be changed, —because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, in that they shed innocent blood in their land.
20 Mais Juda sera habité pour toujours, et Jérusalem de génération en génération.
But, Judah, age-abidingly, shall remain, and, Jerusalem, to generation after generation.
21 Je purifierai leur sang que je n'ai pas purifié, car Yahvé habite en Sion. »
And I will free from their blood-guiltiness them whom I had not freed, —for, Yahweh, is about to make his habitation in Zion.
