Isaïe 66
1 Yahvé dit: « Le ciel est mon trône, et la terre est mon marchepied. Quel genre de maison allez-vous me construire? Où vais-je me reposer?
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build to me? and where [is] the place of my rest?
2 Car c'est ma main qui a fait toutes ces choses, et c'est ainsi que toutes ces choses se sont produites », dit Yahvé: « mais je regarderai cet homme, même à celui qui est pauvre et à l'esprit contrit, et qui tremble devant ma parole.
For all these [things] hath my hand made, and all these [things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this man [will] I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3 Celui qui tue un bœuf est comme celui qui tue un homme; celui qui sacrifie un agneau, comme celui qui brise le cou d'un chien; celui qui offre une offrande, comme celui qui offre du sang de porc; celui qui brûle de l'encens, comme celui qui bénit une idole. Oui, ils ont choisi leur propre voie, et leur âme se complaît dans leurs abominations.
He that killeth an ox [is as if] he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, [as if] he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, [as if he offered] swine's blood; he that burneth incense, [as if] he blessed an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4 Je choisirai aussi leurs illusions, et feront retomber leurs craintes sur eux, parce que quand j'ai appelé, personne n'a répondu; quand je parlais, ils n'écoutaient pas, mais ils ont fait ce qui est mal à mes yeux, et choisi ce qui ne me plaisait pas. »
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spoke, they did not hear: but they did evil before my eyes, and chose [that] in which I delighted not.
5 Écoutez la parole de Yahvé, vous qui tremblez devant sa parole: « Tes frères qui te détestent, qui vous ont chassés à cause de mon nom, ont dit, Que Yahvé soit glorifié, afin que nous puissions voir votre joie; mais ce sont ceux qui seront déçus.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6 Une voix de tumulte venant de la ville, une voix venant du temple, une voix de Yahvé qui rend à ses ennemis ce qu'ils méritent.
A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompense to his enemies.
7 « Avant d'avoir cédé, elle a accouché. Avant que la douleur ne vienne, elle a accouché d'un fils.
Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a male child.
8 Qui a entendu parler d'une telle chose? Qui a vu de telles choses? Une terre peut-elle naître en un jour? Une nation doit-elle naître tout de suite? Car dès que Sion a accouché, elle a donné naissance à ses enfants.
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? [or] shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9 Vais-je faire naître, et ne pas faire accoucher? dit l'Éternel. « Moi qui fais naître, fermerai-je le ventre de la mère? » dit votre Dieu.
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut [the womb]? saith thy God.
10 « Réjouissez-vous avec Jérusalem, et soyez dans l'allégresse pour elle, vous tous qui l'aimez. Réjouissez-vous de joie avec elle, vous tous qui la pleurez;
Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
11 pour que vous puissiez téter et être rassasiés aux seins réconfortants; pour que vous puissiez boire profondément, et se réjouir de l'abondance de sa gloire. »
That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may draw milk, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12 Car Yahvé dit: « Voici, je vais répandre la paix sur elle comme un fleuve, et la gloire des nations comme un torrent débordant, et vous allez allaiter. Vous serez porté à ses côtés, et se fera dandiner sur ses genoux.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon [her] sides, and be dandled upon [her] knees.
13 Comme celui que sa mère réconforte, alors je te réconforterai. Tu seras réconforté à Jérusalem. »
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14 Tu le verras, et ton cœur se réjouira, et tes os s'épanouiront comme l'herbe tendre. La main de Yahvé sera connue parmi ses serviteurs; et il s'indignera contre ses ennemis.
And when ye see [this], your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known towards his servants, and [his] indignation towards his enemies.
15 Car voici, Yahvé viendra avec le feu, et ses chars seront comme un tourbillon; pour rendre sa colère avec férocité, et sa réprimande avec des flammes de feu.
For behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 Car Yahvé exercera son jugement par le feu et par son épée sur toute chair; et ceux qui seront tués par Yahvé seront nombreux.
For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17 « Ceux qui se sanctifient et se purifient pour aller dans les jardins, en se suivant au milieu, en mangeant de la viande de porc, des choses abominables, et la souris, ceux-là finiront ensemble, dit Yahvé.
They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
18 « Car je connais leurs œuvres et leurs pensées. Le temps vient où je rassemblerai toutes les nations et toutes les langues, et elles viendront, et elles verront ma gloire.
For I [know] their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
19 « J'établirai un signe au milieu d'eux, et j'enverrai ceux qui en réchapperont vers les nations, vers Tarsis, Pul et Lud, qui tirent l'arc, vers Tubal et Javan, vers les îles lointaines, qui n'ont pas entendu ma renommée et n'ont pas vu ma gloire; et ils proclameront ma gloire parmi les nations.
And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them to the nations, [to] Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, [to] Tubal, and Javan, [to] the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
20 Ils amèneront tous tes frères de toutes les nations en offrande à Yahvé, sur des chevaux, sur des chars, sur des litières, sur des mulets et sur des chameaux, à ma montagne sainte, Jérusalem, dit Yahvé, comme les enfants d'Israël apportent leur offrande dans un vase pur dans la maison de Yahvé.
And they shall bring all your brethren [for] an offering to the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21 Parmi eux, je choisirai aussi des prêtres et des lévites, dit l'Éternel.
And I will also take of them for priests [and] for Levites, saith the LORD.
22 « Car, comme les nouveaux cieux et la nouvelle terre que je vais créer subsisteront devant moi, dit Yahvé, ainsi subsisteront ta descendance et ton nom.
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 D'une nouvelle lune à l'autre, et d'un sabbat à l'autre, toute chair viendra se prosterner devant moi, dit l'Éternel.
And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24 « On sortira, et on regardera les cadavres des hommes qui ont transgressé contre moi; car leur ver ne mourra pas, leur feu ne s'éteindra pas, et ils seront odieux à toute l'humanité. »
And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh.
