Isaïe 55
1 « Hé! Venez, tous ceux qui ont soif, vers les eaux! Viens, celui qui n'a pas d'argent, achète et mange! Oui, venez, achetez du vin et du lait sans argent et sans prix.
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Pourquoi dépensez-vous de l'argent pour ce qui n'est pas du pain, et votre travail pour ce qui ne satisfait pas? Écoutez-moi attentivement, et mangez ce qui est bon, et laisse ton âme se délecter de richesses.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Tourne ton oreille, et viens à moi. Écoutez, et votre âme vivra. Je conclurai avec vous une alliance éternelle, les grâces sûres de David.
Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Voici, je l'ai donné en témoignage aux peuples, un chef et un commandant pour les peuples.
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.
5 Voici, tu appelleras une nation que tu ne connais pas; et une nation qui ne te connaissait pas courra vers toi, à cause de Yahvé ton Dieu, et pour le Saint d'Israël; car il vous a glorifié. »
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee, because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Cherchez Yahvé pendant qu'il se trouve. Faites appel à lui pendant qu'il est proche.
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Que le méchant abandonne sa voie, et l'homme injuste ses pensées. Qu'il revienne à Yahvé, et il aura pitié de lui, à notre Dieu, car il pardonne librement.
let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 « Car mes pensées ne sont pas vos pensées, et vos voies ne sont pas mes voies », dit Yahvé.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 « Car de même que les cieux sont plus élevés que la terre, mes voies sont donc plus élevées que les vôtres, et mes pensées que vos pensées.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 Car comme la pluie descend et la neige tombe du ciel, et n'y retourne pas, mais arrose la terre, et le fait grandir et bourgeonner, et donne la semence au semeur et le pain à celui qui mange;
For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 ainsi en est-il de ma parole qui sort de ma bouche: elle ne me reviendra pas vide, mais il accomplira ce qui me plaît, et il prospérera dans ce que je l'ai envoyé faire.
so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 Car vous sortirez avec joie, et être conduit en paix. Les montagnes et les collines se mettront à chanter devant toi; et tous les arbres des champs battront des mains.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Au lieu de l'épine, le cyprès s'élèvera; et à la place de l'abricot, le myrte poussera. Il fera un nom à Yahvé, pour un signe éternel qui ne sera pas supprimé. »
Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
