Isaïe 51
1 « Écoutez-moi, vous qui poursuivez la justice, vous qui cherchez Yahvé. Regardez la roche dans laquelle vous avez été taillé, et à la carrière d'où vous avez été extrait.
Heare me, ye that follow after righteousnes, and ye that seeke the Lord: looke vnto the rocke, whence ye are hewen, and to the hole of the pit, whence ye are digged.
2 Regarde vers Abraham, ton père, et à Sarah qui t'a porté; car quand il n'était qu'un, je l'ai appelé, Je l'ai béni, et l'a rendu nombreux.
Consider Abraham your father, and Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
3 Car Yahvé a réconforté Sion. Il a réconforté toutes ses ruines, et a fait de son désert un Eden, et son désert comme le jardin de Yahvé. La joie et l'allégresse se trouveront en eux, l'action de grâce, et la voix de la mélodie.
Surely the Lord shall comfort Zion: he shall comfort all her desolations, and he shall make her desert like Eden, and her wildernes like the garden of the Lord: ioy and gladnesse shalbe founde therein: praise, and the voyce of singing.
4 « Écoutez-moi, mon peuple; et écoute-moi, ma nation, car une loi sortira de moi, et j'établirai ma justice comme une lumière pour les peuples.
Hearken ye vnto me, my people, and giue eare vnto me, O my people: for a Law shall proceede from me, and I will bring foorth my iudgement for the light of the people.
5 Ma justice est proche. Mon salut s'est éteint, et mes bras jugeront les peuples. Les îles vont m'attendre, et ils feront confiance à mon bras.
My righteousnes is neere: my saluation goeth foorth, and mine armes shall iudge the people: the yles shall waite for me, and shall trust vnto mine arme.
6 Levez vos yeux vers les cieux, et regarder la terre en dessous; car les cieux s'évanouiront comme de la fumée, et la terre s'usera comme un vêtement. Ses habitants mourront de la même façon, mais mon salut sera éternel, et ma justice ne sera pas abolie.
Lift vp your eyes to the heauens, and looke vpon the earth beneath: for the heauens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall waxe olde like a garment, and they that dwell therein, shall perish in like maner: but my saluation shall be for euer, and my righteousnesse shall not bee abolished.
7 « Écoutez-moi, vous qui connaissez la justice, le peuple dans le cœur duquel se trouve ma loi. Ne craignez pas les reproches des hommes, et ne vous laissez pas démonter par leurs insultes.
Hearken vnto me, ye that know righteousnesse, the people in whose heart is my Lawe. Feare ye not the reproche of men, neither be ye afraide of their rebukes.
8 Car la teigne les dévorera comme un vêtement, et le ver les mangera comme de la laine; mais ma justice sera éternelle, et mon salut à toutes les générations. »
For the mothe shall eate them vp like a garment, and the worme shall eate them like wool: but my righteousnesse shalbe for euer, and my saluation from generation to generation.
9 Réveille-toi, réveille-toi, revêts-toi de force, bras de Yahvé! Réveillé, comme dans les jours d'autrefois, les générations des temps anciens. N'est-ce pas vous qui avez coupé Rahab en morceaux, qui a percé le monstre?
Rise vp, rise vp, and put on strength, O arme of the Lord: rise vp as in the olde time in the generations of the worlde. Art not thou the same, that hath cutte Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
10 N'est-ce pas toi qui as asséché la mer, les eaux de la grande profondeur; qui a fait des profondeurs de la mer un passage pour les rachetés?
Art not thou the same, which hath dried the Sea, euen the waters of the great deepe, making the depth of the Sea a way for the redeemed to passe ouer?
11 Les rachetés par Yahvé reviendront, et venez en chantant à Sion. Une joie éternelle sera sur leurs têtes. Ils obtiendront l'allégresse et la joie. Le chagrin et les soupirs s'en iront.
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall returne, and come with ioy vnto Zion, and euerlasting ioy shalbe vpon their head: they shall obtaine ioy, and gladnesse: and sorow and mourning shall flee away.
12 « C'est moi, moi aussi, qui vous réconforte. Qui es-tu, pour avoir peur de l'homme qui va mourir, et du fils de l'homme qui sera réduit à l'état d'herbe?
I, euen I am he, that comfort you. Who art thou, that thou shouldest feare a mortall man, and the sonne of man, which shalbe made as grasse?
13 As-tu oublié Yahvé, ton créateur? qui a étendu les cieux, et a posé les fondations de la terre? Vivez-vous dans la peur continuellement toute la journée à cause de la fureur de l'oppresseur, quand il se prépare à détruire? Où est la fureur de l'oppresseur?
And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath spred out the heauens, and layde the foundations of the earth? and hast feared continually all the day, because of the rage of the oppressour, which is readie to destroy? Where is now the rage of the oppressour?
14 L'exilé captif sera rapidement libéré. Il ne mourra pas et ne descendra pas dans la fosse. Son pain ne manquera pas.
The captiue hasteneth to be loosed, and that hee should not die in the pitte, nor that his bread should faile.
15 Car je suis Yahvé ton Dieu, qui remue la mer. pour que ses vagues rugissent. Yahvé des Armées est son nom.
And I am the Lord thy God that deuided the Sea, when his waues roared: the Lord of hostes is his Name.
16 J'ai mis mes paroles dans ta bouche et je t'ai couvert de l'ombre de ma main, pour que je puisse planter les cieux, et poser les fondations de la terre, et dis à Sion: « Tu es mon peuple. »
And I haue put my wordes in thy mouth, and haue defended thee in the shadowe of mine hand, that I may plant the heauens, and lay the foundation of the earth, and say vnto Zion, Thou art my people.
17 Réveillez-vous, réveillez-vous! Debout, Jérusalem, vous qui avez bu de la main de Yahvé la coupe de sa colère. Vous avez bu le bol de la coupe de l'étourdissement, et l'a vidée.
Awake, awake, and stande vp, O Ierusalem, which hast drunke at the hande of the Lord the cup of his wrath: thou hast drunken the dregges of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.
18 Il n'y a personne pour la guider parmi tous les fils qu'elle a mis au monde; et il n'y a personne qui la prenne par la main parmi tous les fils qu'elle a élevés.
There is none to guide her among all the sonnes, whome she hath brought foorth: there is none that taketh her by the hand of all the sonnes that she hath brought vp.
19 Ces deux choses vous sont arrivées. qui sera en deuil avec vous? la désolation et la destruction, et la famine et l'épée. Comment puis-je te réconforter?
These two thinges are come vnto thee: who will lament thee? desolation and destruction and famine, and the sworde: by whome shall I comfort thee?
20 Tes fils se sont évanouis. Ils se trouvent à la tête de toutes les rues, comme une antilope dans un filet. Ils sont pleins de la colère de Yahvé, la réprimande de votre Dieu.
Thy sonnes haue fainted, and lye at the head of all the streetes as a wilde bull in a nette, and are full of the wrath of the Lord, and rebuke of thy God.
21 C'est pourquoi, maintenant, écoutez ceci, vous qui êtes affligés, et ivres, mais pas avec du vin:
Therefore heare nowe this, thou miserable and drunken, but not with wine.
22 Ton Seigneur Yahvé, votre Dieu qui plaide la cause de son peuple, dit, « Voici que j'ai retiré de ta main la coupe de l'étourdissement, même le bol de la coupe de ma colère. Vous ne le boirez plus.
Thus saith thy Lord God, euen God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Beholde, I haue taken out of thine hande the cuppe of trembling, euen the dregges of the cuppe of my wrath: thou shalt drinke it no more.
23 Je le mettrai dans la main de ceux qui vous affligent, qui ont dit à ton âme: « Incline-toi, pour que nous puissions marcher sur toi ». et vous avez posé votre dos sur le sol, comme une rue pour ceux qui la traversent. »
But I will put it into their hande that spoile thee: which haue said to thy soule, Bowe downe, that wee may goe ouer, and thou hast layde thy bodie as the grounde, and as the streete to them that went ouer.
