Osée 14
1 Israël, reviens à Yahvé ton Dieu; car vous êtes tombés à cause de votre péché.
Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God; for the people have fallen through your iniquities.
2 Prenez des paroles avec vous, et retournez à l'Éternel. Dites-lui: « Pardonnez tous nos péchés, et accepter ce qui est bon; ainsi nous offrons des taureaux comme nous l'avons promis de nos lèvres.
Take with you words, and turn to the Lord your God: speak to him, that you may not receive [the reward of] unrighteousness, but that you may receive good things: and we will render in return the fruit of our lips.
3 L'Assyrie ne peut pas nous sauver. Nous ne monterons pas à cheval; et nous ne dirons plus à l'œuvre de nos mains: « Nos dieux ». car en toi l'orphelin trouve la miséricorde. »
Assur shall never save us; we will not mount on horseback; we will no longer say to the works of our hands, Our gods. He who is in you shall pity the orphan.
4 « Je guérirai leur égarement. Je les aimerai librement; car ma colère s'est détournée d'eux.
I will restore their dwellings, I will love them truly: for he has turned away my wrath from him.
5 Je serai comme la rosée pour Israël. Il s'épanouira comme le lys, et envoyer ses racines comme le Liban.
I will be as dew to Israel: he shall bloom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Libanus.
6 Ses branches s'étendront, et sa beauté sera comme l'olivier, et son parfum comme le Liban.
His branches shall spread, and he shall be as a fruitful olive, and his smell shall be as [the smell] of Libanus.
7 Les hommes habiteront à son ombre. Ils reviendront à la vie comme le grain, et s'épanouir comme la vigne. Leur parfum sera comme le vin du Liban.
They shall return, and dwell under his shadow: they shall live and be satisfied with corn, and he shall flower as a vine: his memorial shall be to Ephraim as the wine of Libanus.
8 Ephraïm, qu'ai-je encore à faire avec les idoles? Je réponds, et je m'occuperai de lui. Je suis comme un cyprès vert; c'est auprès de moi que vous trouverez votre fruit. »
What [has] he to do any more with idols? I have afflicted him, and I will strengthen him: I am as a leafy juniper tree. From me is your fruit found.
9 Qui est sage, pour comprendre ces choses? Qui est prudent, pour les connaître? Car les voies de Yahvé sont justes, et les justes y marchent, mais les rebelles y trébuchent.
Who is wise, and will understand these things? or prudent, and will know them? for the ways of the Lord are straight, and the righteous shall walk in them: but the ungodly shall fall therein.
