Osée 12
1 Ephraïm se nourrit de vent, et chasse le vent d'est. Il multiplie sans cesse les mensonges et la désolation. Ils font une alliance avec l'Assyrie, et le pétrole est transporté en Égypte.
Ephraim is fed with the winde, and followeth after the East winde: hee increaseth daily lies and destruction, and they do make a couenant with Asshur, and oyle is caried into Egypt.
2 Yahvé a également une controverse avec Juda, et punira Jacob selon ses voies; il lui rendra selon ses actes.
The Lord hath also a controuersie with Iudah, and will visite Iaakob, according to his waies: according to his workes, wil he recompence him.
3 Dans le ventre de sa mère, il a pris son frère par le talon, et dans sa vie d'homme, il s'est disputé avec Dieu.
Hee tooke his brother by the heele in the wombe, and by his strength he had power with God,
4 En effet, il a lutté avec l'ange et l'a emporté; il pleura, et lui fit des supplications. Il l'a trouvé à Bethel, et là il a parlé avec nous...
And had power ouer the Angel, and preuailed: he wept and praied vnto him: he founde him in Beth-el, and there he spake with vs.
5 même Yahvé, le Dieu des armées. Yahvé est son nom de renom!
Yea, the Lord God of hostes, the Lord is himselfe his memoriall.
6 C'est pourquoi, tournez-vous vers votre Dieu. Gardez la bonté et la justice, et attendez sans cesse votre Dieu.
Therefore turne thou to thy God: keepe mercy and iudgement, and hope still in thy God.
7 Un marchand a dans sa main des balances malhonnêtes. Il aime frauder.
He is Canaan: the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loueth to oppresse.
8 Ephraïm dit: « Certes, je me suis enrichi. Je me suis trouvé de la richesse. Dans toute ma richesse, ils ne trouveront en moi aucune iniquité qui soit un péché. »
And Ephraim saide, Notwithstanding I am rich, I haue found me out riches in all my labours: they shall finde none iniquitie in me, that were wickednesse.
9 « Mais moi, je suis Yahvé, ton Dieu, depuis le pays d'Égypte. Je vous ferai à nouveau habiter dans des tentes, comme aux jours de la fête solennelle.
Though I am the Lord thy God, from the land of Egypt, yet will I make thee to dwel in the tabernacles, as in the daies of the solemne feast.
10 J'ai aussi parlé aux prophètes, et j'ai multiplié les visions; et par le ministère des prophètes, j'ai utilisé des paraboles.
I haue also spoken by the Prophets, and I haue multiplied visions, and vsed similitudes by the ministerie of the Prophets.
11 Si Galaad est méchant, ils sont sûrement sans valeur. A Gilgal, on sacrifie des taureaux. En effet, leurs autels sont comme des tas dans les sillons du champ.
Is there iniquitie in Gilead? surely they are vanitie: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal, and their altars are as heapes in the furrowes of the field.
12 Jacob s'enfuit dans le pays d'Aram. Israël a servi pour avoir une femme. Comme épouse, il s'occupait de troupeaux.
And Iaakob fled into the countrey of Aram, and Israel serued for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheepe.
13 C'est par un prophète que Yahvé a fait monter Israël hors d'Égypte, et par un prophète, il a été préservé.
And by a Prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a Prophet was he reserued.
14 Ephraïma provoqué la colère avec amertume. Son sang restera donc sur lui, et son Seigneur lui rendra son mépris.
But Ephraim prouoked him with hie places: therefore shall his blood be powred vpon him, and his reproche shall his Lord reward him.
