Osée 10
1 Israël est une vigne luxuriante qui produit son fruit. Selon l'abondance de ses fruits, il a multiplié ses autels. Au fur et à mesure que leurs terres ont prospéré, ils ont orné leurs pierres sacrées.
Israel is a luxuriant vine that puts forth his fruit. According to the abundance of his fruit he has multiplied his altars. According to the goodness of their land they have made goodly pillars.
2 Leur cœur est divisé. Maintenant, ils seront reconnus coupables. Il démolira leurs autels. Il détruira leurs pierres sacrées.
Their heart is divided. Now they shall be found guilty. He will smite their altars. He will destroy their pillars.
3 Maintenant, ils diront: « Nous n'avons pas de roi, car nous ne craignons pas Yahvé; et le roi, que peut-il faire pour nous? »
Surely now they shall say, We have no king, for we fear not Jehovah. And the king, what can he do for us?
4 Ils font des promesses, jurent faussement en concluant des pactes. C'est pourquoi le jugement pousse comme de l'herbe empoisonnée dans les sillons du champ.
They speak vain words, swearing falsely in making covenants. Therefore judgment springs up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.
5 Les habitants de Samarie seront dans la terreur à cause des veaux de Beth Aven, car son peuple se lamentera sur elle, ainsi que ses prêtres qui s'en sont réjouis, pour sa gloire, car il s'en est éloigné.
The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in terror for the calves of Beth-aven. For the people of it shall mourn over it, and the priests of it, who rejoiced over it for the glory of it, because it has departed from it.
6 Elle sera aussi transportée en Assyrie pour être offerte à un grand roi. Ephraïm recevra la honte, et Israël aura honte de son propre conseil.
It shall also be carried to Assyria for a present to king Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
7 Samarie et son roi s'envolent comme une brindille sur l'eau.
As for Samaria, its king is cut off, as foam upon the water.
8 Les hauts lieux de l'Aven, le péché d'Israël, seront détruits. L'épine et le chardon monteront sur leurs autels. Ils diront aux montagnes: « Couvrez-nous! » et aux collines: « Tombez sur nous! »
The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars, and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us, and to the hills, Fall on us.
9 « Israël, tu as péché depuis le temps de Guibea. Ils sont restés là. La bataille contre les enfants de l'iniquité ne les atteint pas à Gibéa.
O Israel, thou have sinned from the days of Gibeah. There they stood. The battle against the sons of iniquity does not overtake them in Gibeah.
10 Quand je le voudrai, je les châtierai; et les nations s'assembleront contre eux quand ils sont liés à leurs deux transgressions.
When it is my desire, I will chastise them. And the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are bound to their two transgressions.
11 Ephraïm est une génisse dressée qui aime battre, alors je mettrai un joug sur son beau cou. Je mettrai un cavalier sur Ephraïm. Juda va labourer. Jacob va briser ses mottes.
And Ephraim is a heifer that is taught, that loves to tread out the grain. But I have passed over upon her fair neck. I will set a rider on Ephraim. Judah shall plow. Jacob shall break his clods.
12 Semez pour vous-mêmes dans la justice, récolter selon la bonté. Défrichez votre terrain en friche, car il est temps de chercher Yahvé, jusqu'à ce qu'il vienne et fasse pleuvoir la justice sur vous.
Sow to yourselves in righteousness. Reap according to kindness. Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek Jehovah, till he comes and rains righteousness upon you.
13 Vous avez labouré la méchanceté. Vous avez récolté l'iniquité. Vous avez mangé le fruit du mensonge, car tu as eu confiance dans ta voie, dans la multitude de tes guerriers.
Ye have plowed wickedness. Ye have reaped iniquity. Ye have eaten the fruit of lies. For thou trusted in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
14 C'est pourquoi un cri de guerre s'élèvera parmi ton peuple, et toutes vos forteresses seront détruites, comme Shalman a détruit Beth Arbel au jour de la bataille. La mère a été mise en pièces avec ses enfants.
Therefore a tumult shall arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel in the day of battle; the mother was dashed in pieces with her sons.
15 C'est ainsi que Béthel te traitera, à cause de ta grande méchanceté. Au lever du jour, le roi d'Israël sera détruit.
So shall Bethel do to you because of your great wickedness. At daybreak the king of Israel shall be utterly cut off.
