Hébreux 2
1 C'est pourquoi nous devons être plus attentifs aux choses que nous avons entendues, de peur que nous ne nous égarions.
Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, so that we will not drift away.
2 En effet, si la parole annoncée par les anges s'est révélée inébranlable, et si toute transgression et toute désobéissance ont reçu un juste châtiment,
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;
3 comment échapperons-nous si nous négligeons un si grand salut, qui, annoncé d'abord par le Seigneur, nous a été confirmé par ceux qui l'ont entendu,
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;
4 Dieu en rendant témoignage avec eux, par des signes et des prodiges, par diverses œuvres de puissance et par des dons du Saint-Esprit, selon sa propre volonté?
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
5 Car il n'a pas soumis le monde à venir, dont nous parlons, à des anges.
For he did not subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
6 Mais quelqu'un a témoigné quelque part, disant, « Qu'est-ce que l'homme, pour que tu penses à lui? Ou le fils de l'homme, pour que vous vous souciiez de lui?
But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 Tu l'as fait un peu plus bas que les anges. Vous l'avez couronné de gloire et d'honneur.
You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.
8 Vous avez tout soumis sous ses pieds. » En effet, en lui soumettant toutes choses, il n'a rien laissé qui ne lui soit soumis. Or, nous ne voyons pas encore toutes choses qui lui sont soumises.
You have put all things under his feet." For in that he put all things under him, he left nothing that is not under him. But now we do not yet see that all things are under him.
9 Mais nous voyons celui qui a été fait un peu plus bas que les anges, Jésus, à cause des souffrances de la mort, couronné de gloire et d'honneur, afin que, par la grâce de Dieu, il goûte la mort pour tous.
But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
10 Car il lui a plu, à lui pour qui tout est et par qui tout est, en amenant beaucoup d'enfants à la gloire, de rendre parfait par les souffrances l'auteur de leur salut.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 Car celui qui sanctifie et ceux qui sont sanctifiés sont tous issus d'un seul, et c'est pourquoi il n'a pas honte de les appeler frères,
For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12 disant, « Je déclarerai ton nom à mes frères. Au milieu de l'assemblée, je chanterai tes louanges. »
saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly I will praise you."
13 Encore une fois: « Je lui ferai confiance. » Et encore: « Me voici avec les enfants que Dieu m'a donnés. »
And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Look, here I am, and the children God has given me."
14 Puisque les enfants ont eu part à la chair et au sang, lui-même a eu part à la même chose, afin que, par la mort, il anéantisse celui qui avait la puissance de la mort, c'est-à-dire le diable,
Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 et qu'il délivre tous ceux qui, par la crainte de la mort, ont été toute leur vie asservis.
and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 En effet, ce n'est pas aux anges qu'il vient en aide, mais à la postérité d'Abraham.
For, truly, he did not come to help the angels, but to help the offspring of Abraham.
17 C'est pourquoi il a été obligé en toutes choses d'être rendu semblable à ses frères, afin de devenir un grand prêtre miséricordieux et fidèle dans les choses de Dieu, pour faire l'expiation des péchés du peuple.
Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 En effet, ayant lui-même souffert d'être tenté, il est capable de secourir ceux qui sont tentés.
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
