Genèse 9
1 Dieu bénit Noé et ses fils, et leur dit: Soyez féconds, multipliez, et remplissez la terre.
And God blessed Noah and his sonnes, and said to them, Bring foorth fruite, and multiplie, and replenish the earth.
2 La crainte de vous et la peur de vous seront sur tous les animaux de la terre et sur tous les oiseaux du ciel. Tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, et tous les poissons de la mer, sont livrés entre tes mains.
Also the feare of you, and the dread of you shalbe vpon euery beast of the earth, and vpon euery foule of the heauen, vpon all that moueth on the earth, and vpon all the fishes of the sea: into your hand are they deliuered.
3 Tout ce qui se déplace et qui vit te servira de nourriture. Comme je t'ai donné l'herbe verte, je t'ai tout donné.
Euery thing that moueth and liueth, shall be meate for you: as the greene herbe, haue I giuen you all things.
4 Mais la chair avec sa vie, c'est-à-dire son sang, vous n'en mangerez pas.
But flesh with the life thereof, I meane, with the blood thereof, shall ye not eate.
5 Je demanderai compte du sang de votre vie. Je l'exigerai de la part de tout animal. De la main de l'homme, même de la main du frère de l'homme, je demanderai la vie de l'homme.
For surely I will require your blood, wherein your liues are: at the hand of euery beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, euen at the hand of a mans brother will I require the life of man.
6 Si quelqu'un verse le sang de l'homme, son sang sera versé par l'homme, car Dieu a créé l'homme à son image.
Who so sheadeth mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God hath he made man.
7 Soyez féconds et multipliez. Augmentez en abondance sur la terre, et multipliez en elle. »
But bring ye forth fruite and multiplie: grow plentifully in the earth, and increase therein.
8 Dieu parla à Noé et à ses fils avec lui, et dit:
God spake also to Noah and to his sonnes with him, saying,
9 « Quant à moi, voici que j'établis mon alliance avec toi, et avec ta descendance après toi,
Behold, I, euen I establish my couenant with you, and with your seede after you,
10 et avec tous les êtres vivants qui sont avec toi: les oiseaux, le bétail, et tous les animaux de la terre avec toi, de tous ceux qui sortent du navire, tous les animaux de la terre.
And with euery liuing creature that is with you, with the foule, with the cattell, and with euery beast of the earth with you, from all that goe out of the Arke, vnto euery beast of the earth.
11 J'établirai mon alliance avec vous: Toute chair ne sera plus exterminée par les eaux du déluge. Il n'y aura plus jamais de déluge pour détruire la terre. »
And my couenant will I establish with you, that from henceforth all flesh shall not be rooted out by ye waters of the flood, neither shall there be a flood to destroy the earth any more.
12 Dieu dit: « Voici le signe de l'alliance que j'établis entre moi et vous, et tous les êtres vivants qui sont avec vous, pour des générations perpétuelles:
Then God saide, This is the token of the couenant which I make betweene me and you, and betweene euery liuing thing, that is with you vnto perpetuall generations.
13 Je place mon arc-en-ciel dans la nuée, et il sera le signe d'une alliance entre moi et la terre.
I haue set my bowe in the cloude, and it shalbe for a signe of the couenant betweene me and the earth.
14 Quand je ferai venir une nuée sur la terre, pour qu'on voie l'arc-en-ciel dans la nuée,
And when I shall couer the earth with a cloud, and the bowe shall be seene in the cloude,
15 je me souviendrai de mon alliance, qui est entre moi et vous, et tout être vivant de toute chair, et les eaux ne deviendront plus un déluge pour détruire toute chair.
Then will I remember my couenant, which is betweene me and you, and betweene euery liuing thing in all flesh, and there shalbe no more waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 L'arc-en-ciel sera dans la nuée. Je le regarderai, afin de me souvenir de l'alliance éternelle entre Dieu et tous les êtres vivants de toute chair qui sont sur la terre. »
Therefore the bowe shalbe in the cloude, that I may see it, and remember the euerlasting couenant betweene God, and euery liuing thing in all flesh that is vpon the earth.
17 Dieu dit à Noé: « Voici le gage de l'alliance que j'ai établie entre moi et toute chair qui est sur la terre. »
God said yet to Noah, This is the signe of the couenant, which I haue established betweene me and all flesh that is vpon the earth.
18 Les fils de Noé qui sortirent du navire furent Sem, Cham et Japhet. Cham est le père de Canaan.
Nowe the sonnes of Noah going foorth of the Arke, were Shem and Ham and Iapheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan.
19 Ces trois-là étaient les fils de Noé, et c'est à partir d'eux que toute la terre a été peuplée.
These are the three sonnes of Noah, and of them was the whole earth ouerspred.
20 Noé se mit à cultiver la terre et planta une vigne.
Noah also began to be an husband man and planted a vineyard.
21 Il but du vin et s'enivra. Il se découvrit dans sa tente.
And he drunke of ye wine and was drunken, and was vncouered in the middes of his tent.
22 Cham, le père de Canaan, vit la nudité de son père, et le dit à ses deux frères au dehors.
And when Ham the father of Canaan sawe the nakednesse of his father, he tolde his two brethren without.
23 Sem et Japhet prirent un vêtement, le posèrent sur leurs deux épaules, entrèrent à reculons et couvrirent la nudité de leur père. Ils entrèrent à reculons et couvrirent la nudité de leur père. Ils avaient le visage tourné vers l'arrière, et ils ne virent pas la nudité de leur père.
Then tooke Shem and Iapheth a garment, and put it vpon both their shoulders, and went backwarde, and couered the nakednesse of their father with their faces backwarde: so they sawe not their fathers nakednesse.
24 Noé se réveilla de son vin, et il sut ce que son plus jeune fils lui avait fait.
Then Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his yonger sonne had done vnto him,
25 Il dit, « Canaan est maudite. Il sera le serviteur des serviteurs de ses frères. »
And said, Cursed be Canaan: a seruant of seruants shall he be vnto his brethren.
26 Il a dit, « Béni soit Yahvé, le Dieu de Sem. Que Canaan soit son serviteur.
He said moreouer, blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and let Canaan be his seruant.
27 Que Dieu agrandisse Japhet. Qu'il habite dans les tentes de Sem. Que Canaan soit son serviteur. »
God perswade Iapheth, that he may dwell in the tentes of Shem, and let Canaan be his seruant.
28 Noé vécut trois cent cinquante ans après le déluge.
And Noah liued after the flood three hundreth and fiftie yeeres.
29 Tous les jours de Noé furent de neuf cent cinquante ans, puis il mourut.
So all the dayes of Noah were nine hundreth and fiftie yeeres: and he died.
