1 Voici le livre des générations d'Adam. Le jour où Dieu créa l'homme, il le fit à la ressemblance de Dieu.
This is the record of Adam's descendants. When God created human beings, he made them to be like him.
2 Il les créa homme et femme, et les bénit. Le jour où ils furent créés, il leur donna le nom d'Adam.
He created them male and female, and blessed them. On the day he created them he called them “human.”
3 Adam vécut cent trente ans; il engendra un fils à sa ressemblance, selon son image, et il lui donna le nom de Seth.
When Adam was 130, he had a son who was like him, made in his image; and he named him Seth.
4 Les jours d'Adam, après qu'il eut engendré Seth, furent de huit cents ans, et il engendra d'autres fils et d'autres filles.
Adam lived another 800 years after Seth was born, and had other sons and daughters.
5 Tous les jours qu'Adam vécut furent de neuf cent trente ans, puis il mourut.
Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
6 Seth vécut cent cinq ans, puis devint le père d'Enosh.
When Seth was 105, he had Enosh.

Seth lived another 807 years after Enosh was born, and had other sons and daughters.

When Jared was 162, he had Enoch.

After Enoch was born, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

When Enoch was 65, he had Methuselah.
22 Après la naissance de Mathusalem, Hénoc marcha avec Dieu pendant trois cents ans, et il engendra d'autres fils et d'autres filles.
He had a close relationship with God. After Methuselah was born, Enoch lived another 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

Enoch lived a total of 365 years.
24 Hénoc marcha avec Dieu, et il ne fut pas trouvé, car Dieu le prit.
Enoch had such a close relationship with God that he didn't die, he just wasn't there anymore, because God took him.
25 Mathusalem vécut cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, puis devint le père de Lamek.
When Methuselah was 187, he had Lamech.
26 Mathusalem vécut, après avoir engendré Lémec, sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra d'autres fils et d'autres filles.
After Lamech was born, Methuselah lived another 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
27 Tous les jours de Mathusalem furent de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans, puis il mourut.
Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28 Lémec vécut cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, puis il engendra un fils.
When Lamech was 182, he had a son.
29 Il lui donna le nom de Noé, en disant: « Celui-ci nous consolera dans notre travail et dans le labeur de nos mains, causé par le sol que Yahvé a maudit. »
He named him Noah, with the explanation, “He will provide relief for us from all the hard manual labor we need to do in cultivating the ground the Lord has cursed.”
30 Lamek vécut, après avoir engendré Noé, cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, et il engendra d'autres fils et filles.
After Noah was born, Lamech lived another 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
31 Tous les jours de Lémec furent de sept cent soixante-dix-sept ans, puis il mourut.
Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32 Noé avait cinq cents ans, puis Noé est devenu le père de Sem, de Cham et de Japhet.
Noah was 500 before he had Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
