Genèse 28
1 Isaac appela Jacob, le bénit et lui donna cet ordre: « Tu ne prendras pas de femme parmi les filles de Canaan.
And he summoned Isaac Jacob and he blessed him and he commanded him and he said to him not you must take a wife from [the] daughters of Canaan.
2 Lève-toi, va à Paddan Aram, dans la maison de Bethuel, le père de ta mère. Tu prendras là une femme parmi les filles de Laban, le frère de ta mère.
Arise go Paddan towards Aram [the] house of towards Bethuel [the] father of mother your and take for yourself from there a wife one of [the] daughters of Laban [the] brother of mother your.
3 Que le Dieu tout-puissant te bénisse, qu'il te rende fécond et te multiplie, afin que tu sois une multitude de peuples,
And God Almighty may he bless you and may he make fruitful you and may he multiply you and you will become a company of peoples.
4 et qu'il te donne la bénédiction d'Abraham, à toi et à ta postérité avec toi, afin que tu hérites du pays où tu voyages, que Dieu a donné à Abraham. »
And may he give to you [the] blessing of Abraham to you and to offspring your with you to take possession of you [the] land of sojournings your which he gave God to Abraham.
5 Isaac renvoya Jacob. Il se rendit à Paddan Aram chez Laban, fils de Béthuel le Syrien, frère de Rébecca, la mère de Jacob et d'Ésaü.
And he sent off Isaac Jacob and he went Paddan towards Aram to Laban [the] son of Bethuel the Aramean [the] brother of Rebekah [the] mother of Jacob and Esau.
6 Ésaü vit qu'Isaac avait béni Jacob et l'avait envoyé à Paddan Aram, pour lui prendre une femme de là-bas, et qu'en le bénissant il lui avait donné cet ordre: « Tu ne prendras pas de femme parmi les filles de Canaan »;
And he saw Esau that he had blessed Isaac Jacob and he had sent off him Paddan towards Aram to take for himself from there a wife when blessed he him and he had commanded to him saying not you must take a wife from [the] daughters of Canaan.
7 et que Jacob avait obéi à son père et à sa mère, et était parti pour Paddan Aram.
And he had listened Jacob to father his and to mother his and he had gone Paddan towards Aram.
8 Ésaü vit que les filles de Canaan ne plaisaient pas à Isaac, son père.
And he saw Esau that [were] displeasing [the] daughters of Canaan in [the] eyes of Isaac father his.
9 Alors Ésaü alla vers Ismaël, et prit, en plus des femmes qu'il avait, Mahalath, fille d'Ismaël, fils d'Abraham, sœur de Nebaioth, pour être sa femme.
And he went Esau to Ishmael and he took Mahalath - [the] daughter of Ishmael [the] son of Abraham [the] sister of Nebaioth to wives his for himself to a wife.
10 Jacob partit de Beer Schéba, et se dirigea vers Haran.
And he went out Jacob from Beer Sheba and he went Haran towards.
11 Il arriva à un certain endroit, où il passa la nuit, car le soleil était couché. Il prit une des pierres du lieu, la mit sous sa tête, et se coucha dans ce lieu pour dormir.
And he reached the place and he stayed [the] night there for it had gone the sun and he took one of [the] stones of the place and he put [it] [the] place of head his and he lay down in the place that.
12 Il rêva et vit un escalier placé sur la terre, et dont le sommet atteignait le ciel. Et voici, les anges de Dieu y montaient et y descendaient.
And he dreamed and there! a stairway [was] placed [the] earth towards and top its [was] reaching the heavens towards and there! [the] angels of God [were] going up and [were] going down on it.
13 Et voici, Yahvé se tenait au-dessus et disait: « Je suis Yahvé, le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père, et le Dieu d'Isaac. Je donnerai le pays sur lequel tu es couché, à toi et à ta postérité.
And there! Yahweh [was] standing on it and he said I [am] Yahweh [the] God of Abraham father your and [the] God of Isaac the land which you [are] lying on it to you I will give it and to offspring your.
14 Ta descendance sera comme la poussière de la terre, et tu te répandras à l'ouest et à l'est, au nord et au sud. En toi et en ta descendance, toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies.
And it will be offspring your like [the] dust of the earth and you will spread out west-ward and east-ward and north-ward and south-ward and they will be blessed by you all [the] clans of the earth and by offspring your.
15 Voici, je suis avec toi, je te garderai partout où tu iras, et je te ramènerai dans ce pays. Car je ne te quitterai pas avant d'avoir accompli ce dont je t'ai parlé. »
And here! I [am] with you and I will protect you in every where you will go and I will bring back you to the land this for not I will abandon you until that I have done [that] which I have spoken to you.
16 Jacob se réveilla de son sommeil, et il dit: « Certainement, Yahvé est dans ce lieu, et je ne le savais pas. »
And he awoke Jacob from sleep his and he said truly there [is] Yahweh in the place this and I not I realized.
17 Il eut peur et dit: « Comme ce lieu est impressionnant! Ce n'est autre que la maison de Dieu, et c'est la porte du ciel. »
And he was afraid and he said how! awesome [is] the place this [is] not this that except [the] house of God and this [is] [the] gate of the heavens.
18 Jacob se leva de bon matin, prit la pierre qu'il avait mise sous sa tête, la dressa pour servir de colonne, et versa de l'huile sur son sommet.
And he rose early Jacob in the morning and he took the stone which he had put [the] place of head his and he set up it a pillar and he poured oil on top its.
19 Il appela le nom de ce lieu Béthel, mais le nom de la ville était d'abord Luz.
And he called [the] name of the place that Beth-el and but [was] Luz [the] name of the city to the former [time].
20 Jacob fit un vœu, en disant: Si Dieu est avec moi, s'il me garde dans le chemin que je vais suivre, s'il me donne du pain à manger et des vêtements à revêtir,
And he vowed Jacob a vow saying if he will be God with me and he will protect me on the journey this which I [am] going and he will give to me food to eat and clothing to wear.
21 si je reviens en paix dans la maison de mon père, et si Yahvé est mon Dieu,
And I will return in peace to [the] house of father my and he will become Yahweh for me God.
22 cette pierre, que j'ai dressée comme colonne, sera la maison de Dieu. De tout ce que tu me donneras, je te donnerai le dixième. »
And the stone this which I have set up a pillar it will be [the] house of God and all that you will give to me fully I will tithe it to you.
