1 Voici les fils de la province qui remontèrent de la captivité des captifs que Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, avait emmenés à Babylone, et qui revinrent à Jérusalem et en Juda, chacun dans sa ville.
And these [are] the people of the land that went up, of the number of prisoners who were removed, whom Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon carried away to Babylon, and they returned to Juda and Jerusalem, every man to his city;
2 Ils vinrent avec Zorobabel, Josué, Néhémie, Seraïa, Réelaïa, Mardochée, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvaï, Rehum et Baana. Nombre des hommes du peuple d'Israël:
who came with Zorobabel: Jesus, Neemias, Saraias, Reelias, Mardochaeus, Balasan, Masphar, Baguai, Reum, Baana. The number of the people of Israel:

The children of Saphatia, three hundred and seventy-two.

The children of Phaath Moab, belonging to the sons of Jesue [and] Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

the children of Jeela, the children of Darcon, the children of Gedel,
57 les fils de Shephatia, les fils de Hattil, les fils de Pochereth Hazzebaim, les fils d'Ami.
the children of Saphatia, the children of Atil, the children of Phacherath, the children of Aseboim, the children of Emei.
58 Tous les serviteurs du temple, et les fils des serviteurs de Salomon, étaient au nombre de trois cent quatre-vingt-douze.
All the Nathanim, and the sons of Abdeselma [were] three hundred and ninety-two.
59 Voici ceux qui montèrent de Tel-Méla, de Tel-Harsha, de Chérubin, d'Addan et d'Immer; mais ils ne purent faire connaître les maisons de leurs pères et leurs descendants, s'ils étaient d'Israël:
And these [are] they that went up from Thelmelech, Thelaresa, Cherub, Hedan, Emmer: and they were not able to tell the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:
60 les fils de Delaja, les fils de Tobija, les fils de Nekoda, six cent cinquante-deux.
the children of Dalaea, the children of Bua, the children of Tobias, the children of Necoda, six hundred [and] fifty-two.
61 Des fils des sacrificateurs: les fils de Habaja, les fils de Hakkoz, et les fils de Barzillaï, qui prit une femme parmi les filles de Barzillaï, le Galaadite, et fut appelé de leur nom.
And of the children of the priests, the children of Labeia, the children of Akkus, the children of Berzellai, who took a wife of the daughter of Berzellai the Galaadite, and was called by their name.
62 Ceux-ci cherchaient leur place parmi ceux qui étaient enregistrés par généalogie, mais ils ne furent pas trouvés; ils furent donc considérés comme disqualifiés et retirés du sacerdoce.
These sought their genealogy [as though] they had been reckoned, but they were not found; and they were removed, [as polluted], from the priesthood.
63 Le gouverneur leur fit savoir qu'ils ne devaient pas manger des choses les plus saintes tant qu'un prêtre ne se serait pas levé pour servir avec l'urim et le thummim.
And the Athersastha told them that they should not eat of the most holy things, until a priest should arise with Lights and Perfections.
64 Toute l'assemblée était de quarante-deux mille trois cent soixante personnes,
And all the congregation together [were] about forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty;
65 sans compter leurs serviteurs et leurs servantes, au nombre de sept mille trois cent trente-sept; ils avaient deux cents chanteurs et chanteuses.
besides their menservants and maidservants, [and] these were seven thousand three hundred [and] thirty-seven: and [among] these were two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Leurs chevaux étaient au nombre de sept cent trente-six; leurs mulets, de deux cent quarante-cinq;
Their horses [were] seven hundred [and] thirty-six, their mules, two hundred [and] forty-five.
67 leurs chameaux, de quatre cent trente-cinq; leurs ânes, de six mille sept cent vingt.
Their camels, four hundred [and] thirty-five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred [and] twenty.
68 Des chefs de famille, lorsqu'ils arrivèrent à la maison de l'Éternel qui est à Jérusalem, firent des offrandes volontaires pour la maison de Dieu, afin de l'ériger à sa place.
And [some] of the chiefs of families, when they went into the house of the Lord that was in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God, to establish it on its prepared place.
69 Ils donnèrent au trésor de l'œuvre, selon leurs moyens, soixante et un mille dariques d'or, cinq mille dariques d'argent et cent vêtements sacerdotaux.
According to their power they gave into the treasury of the work pure gold sixty-one thousand pieces, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.
70 Ainsi, les prêtres et les lévites, avec une partie du peuple, les chantres, les portiers et les serviteurs du temple, habitèrent dans leurs villes, et tout Israël dans ses villes.
So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nathinim, lived in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
