Ézéchiel 40

1 La vingt-cinquième année de notre captivité, au début de l'année, le dixième jour du mois, la quatorzième année après que la ville eut été frappée, en ce même jour, la main de l'Éternel fut sur moi, et il me conduisit là.

And it came to pass in the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the first month, on the tenth [day] of the month, in the fourteenth year after the taking of the city, in that day the hand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me

2 Dans les visions de Dieu, il me conduisit dans le pays d'Israël et me posa sur une très haute montagne, sur laquelle se trouvait quelque chose comme le cadre d'une ville au sud.

in a vision of God into the land of Israel, and set me on a very high mountain, and upon it [there was] as it were the frame of a city before [me].

3 Il me conduisit là; et voici, il y avait un homme dont l'aspect était semblable à celui du bronze, avec un cordeau de lin dans sa main et un roseau à mesurer; il se tenait à la porte.

And he brought me in there, and, behold, [there was] a man, and the appearance of him was as the appearance of shining brass, and in his hand was a builder's line, and a measuring reed; and he stood at the gate.

4 L'homme me dit: « Fils d'homme, regarde de tes yeux, écoute de tes oreilles, et attache ton cœur à tout ce que je vais te montrer; car tu as été amené ici pour que je te les montre. Annonce à la maison d'Israël tout ce que tu vois. »

And the man said to me, Look with your eyes at him whom you have seen, son of man, and hear with your ears, and lay up in your heart all things that I show you; for you have come in hither that [I] might show you, and you shall show all things that you see to the house of Israel.

5 Voici, il y avait un mur à l'extérieur de la maison tout autour, et dans la main de l'homme un roseau à mesurer de six coudées de long, d'une coudée et d'une largeur de main chacune. Il mesura ainsi l'épaisseur du bâtiment, une canne, et la hauteur, une canne.

And behold a wall round about the house without, and in the man's hand a reed, the measure [of it was] six cubits by the cubit, and a span: and he measured across the front wall; the breadth was equal to the reed, and the length of it equal to the reed.

6 Puis il arriva à la porte qui donne sur l'orient, et il en monta les marches. Il mesura le seuil de la porte, large d'un roseau, et l'autre seuil, large d'un roseau.

And he entered by seven steps into the gate that looks eastward, and he measured across the porch of the gate equal to the reed.

7 Chaque loge avait une longueur d'un roseau et une largeur d'un roseau. L'intervalle entre les loges était de cinq coudées. Le seuil de la porte, près du porche de la porte, vers la maison, était d'un roseau.

And the chamber was equal in length to the reed, and equal in breadth to the reed; and the porch between the chambers six cubits; and the second chamber equal in breadth to the reed, and equal in length to the reed, and the porch five cubits.

8 Il mesura aussi le porche de la porte, du côté de la maison: un roseau.

And the third chamber equal in length to the reed, and equal in breadth to the reed.

9 Il mesura le porche de la porte: huit coudées; et ses poteaux: deux coudées; et le porche de la porte était du côté de la maison.

And the porch of the gateway (near the porch of the gate) eight cubits; and the posts there of two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward:

10 Les chambres latérales de la porte, à l'orient, étaient au nombre de trois de ce côté-ci et de trois de ce côté-là. Ces trois chambres avaient la même mesure. Les poteaux avaient une même mesure de ce côté-ci et de ce côté-là.

and the chambers of the gate of the chamber in front [were] three on one side and three on the other, and [there was] one measure to the three: [there was] one measure to the porches on this side and on that.

11 Il mesura la largeur de l'ouverture de la porte: dix coudées; la longueur de la porte: treize coudées;

And he measured the breadth of the door of the gateway, ten cubits; and the breadth of the gateway thirteen cubits.

12 une bordure devant les chambres: une coudée de ce côté-ci, et une bordure d'une coudée de ce côté-là; les chambres latérales: six coudées de ce côté-ci, et six coudées de ce côté-là.

And the space before the chambers was narrowed to a cubit in front of the chambers on this side and on that side: and the chamber was six cubits this way, and six cubits that way.

13 Il mesura la porte depuis le toit de l'une des chambres latérales jusqu'au toit de l'autre, soit une largeur de vingt-cinq coudées, porte contre porte.

And he measured the gate from the wall of one chamber to the wall of the other chamber: the breadth was twenty-five cubits, the one gate over against the other gate.

14 Il fit aussi des poteaux de soixante coudées, et le parvis s'étendait jusqu'aux poteaux, autour de la porte.

And the open space of the porch of the gate without, was twenty cubits to the chambers round about the gate.

15 Depuis le front de la porte d'entrée jusqu'au front du porche intérieur de la porte, il y avait cinquante coudées.

And the open space of the gate without to the open space of the porch of the gate within was fifty cubits.

16 Il y avait des fenêtres fermées aux chambres latérales et à leurs poteaux à l'intérieur de la porte, tout autour, et de même aux arcs. Les fenêtres étaient tout autour vers l'intérieur. Il y avait des palmiers sur chaque poteau.

And [there were] secret windows to the chambers, and to the porches within the gate of the court round about, and in the same manner windows to the porches round about within: and on the porch [there were] palm-trees on this side and on that side.

17 Puis il me conduisit dans la cour extérieure. Voici, il y avait des chambres et un pavé fait pour le parvis tout autour. Il y avait trente chambres sur le pavement.

And he brought me into the inner court, and, behold, [there were] chambers, and peristyles round about the court; thirty chambers within the ranges of columns.

18 Le pavement était du côté des portes, correspondant à la longueur des portes, même le pavement inférieur.

And the porticos were behind the gates; according to the length of the gates, was the lower peristyle.

19 Il mesura ensuite la largeur depuis le devant de la porte inférieure jusqu'au devant du parvis intérieur extérieur, soit cent coudées, à l'est et au nord.

And he measured the breadth of the court, from the open space of the outer gate inwards to the open space of the gate looking outwards: a hundred cubits [was the distance to the place] of the gate looking eastward: and he brought me to the north;

20 Il mesura la longueur et la largeur de la porte du parvis extérieur, qui donne sur le nord.

and behold a gate looking northwards [belonging to] the outer court, and he measured it, both the length of it and the breadth;

21 Les loges de cette porte étaient au nombre de trois d'un côté et de trois de l'autre. Ses poteaux et ses arcs avaient la même mesure que la première porte: sa longueur était de cinquante coudées, et sa largeur de vingt-cinq coudées.

and the chambers, three on this side and three on that; and the posts, and the porches, and the palm-trees thereof: and they were according to the measures of the gate that looks eastward: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof was twenty-five cubits.

22 Ses fenêtres, ses arcs et ses palmiers avaient la même mesure que la porte qui donne sur l'Orient. On y montait par sept marches. Ses arcs étaient devant eux.

And its windows, and its porches, and its palm-trees, were according to [the dimensions of] the gate looking eastward; and they went up to it by seven steps; and the porches were within.

23 Il y avait une porte du parvis intérieur qui faisait face à l'autre porte, au nord et à l'est. Il mesura cent coudées d'une porte à l'autre.

And [there was] a gate to the inner court looking toward the north gate, after the manner of the gate looking toward the east; and he measured the court from gate to gate, a hundred cubits.

24 Il me conduisit vers le midi; et voici, il y avait une porte vers le midi. Il mesura ses poteaux et ses arcs selon ces mesures.

And he brought me to the south side, and behold a gate looking southwards: and he measured it, and its chambers, and its posts, and its porches, according to these dimensions.

25 Il y avait dans cette porte et dans ses arcs des fenêtres tout autour, comme les autres fenêtres: la longueur était de cinquante coudées, et la largeur de vingt-cinq coudées.

And its windows and its porches round about were according to the windows of the porch: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof was five and twenty cubits.

26 Il y avait sept marches pour y monter, et ses arcs étaient devant elles. Elle avait des palmiers, l'un de ce côté, l'autre de ce côté, sur ses poteaux.

And it had seven steps, and porches within: and it [had] palm-trees on the posts, one on one side, and one on the other side.

27 Il y avait une porte pour le parvis intérieur, du côté du sud. Il mesurait cent coudées d'une porte à l'autre, vers le sud.

And [there was] a gate opposite the gate of the inner court southward: and he measured the court from gate to gate, a hundred cubits in breadth southward.

28 Puis il me conduisit dans le parvis intérieur, près de la porte du midi. Il mesura la porte du midi d'après ces mesures;

And he brought me into the inner court of the south gate: and he measured the gate according to these measures;

29 avec ses loges, ses poteaux et ses arcs, d'après ces mesures. Il y avait des fenêtres dans la porte et dans les arcs tout autour. Elle avait cinquante coudées de longueur, et vingt-cinq coudées de largeur.

and the chambers, and the posts,

30 Il y avait des arcs tout autour, longs de vingt-cinq coudées et larges de cinq coudées.

and the porches, according to these measures: and [there were] windows to it and to the porches round about: its length was fifty cubits, and [its] breadth twenty-five cubits,

31 Ses arches étaient tournées vers le parvis extérieur. Il y avait des palmiers sur ses poteaux. Il y avait huit marches pour y monter.

from the porch to the outer court: and [there were] palm-trees to the post [thereof], and eight steps.

32 Il me fit entrer dans le parvis intérieur, du côté de l'orient. Il mesura la porte d'après ces mesures,

And he brought me in at the gate that looks eastward: and he measured it according to these measures:

33 avec ses loges, ses poteaux et ses arceaux, d'après ces mesures. Il y avait des fenêtres dans la porte et dans les arcs tout autour. Elle avait cinquante coudées de longueur, et vingt-cinq coudées de largeur.

and the chambers, and the posts, and the porches according to these measures: and [there were] windows to it, and porches round about: the length of it was fifty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty-five cubits.

34 Ses arcs étaient tournés vers le parvis extérieur. Il y avait des palmiers sur ses poteaux, d'un côté et de l'autre. Il y avait huit marches pour y monter.

And [there were] porches [opening] into the inner court, and palm-trees on the posts on this side and on that side: and it [had] eight steps.

35 Il me conduisit à la porte septentrionale, et il la mesura selon ces mesures:

And he brought me in at the northern gate, and measured [it] according to these measures;

36 ses loges, ses poteaux et ses arcs. Il y avait des fenêtres tout autour. Sa longueur était de cinquante coudées, et sa largeur de vingt-cinq coudées.

and the chambers, and the posts, and the porches: and it [had] windows round about, and [it had] its porches: the length of it was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.

37 Ses poteaux étaient orientés vers le parvis extérieur. Il y avait des palmiers sur ses poteaux, d'un côté et de l'autre. Il y avait huit marches pour y monter.

And its porches were toward the inner court; and [there were] palm-trees to the posts on this side and on that side: and it [had] eight steps.

38 Une pièce avec sa porte était près des poteaux des portes. On y lavait l'holocauste.

Its chambers and its door-ways, and its porches at the second gate [served as] a drain,

39 Dans le portique de la porte, il y avait deux tables de ce côté-ci et deux tables de ce côté-là, sur lesquelles on immolait l'holocauste, le sacrifice pour le péché et le sacrifice de culpabilité.

that they might kill in it the sin-offerings, and the trespass-offerings.

40 D'un côté, à l'extérieur, en montant vers l'entrée de la porte, vers le nord, il y avait deux tables; de l'autre côté, qui faisait partie du porche de la porte, il y avait deux tables.

And behind the drain for the whole burnt offerings at the north [gate], two tables eastward behind the second gate; and [behind] the porch of the gate two tables eastward.

41 Il y avait quatre tables de ce côté-ci, et quatre tables de ce côté-là, du côté de la porte: huit tables, sur lesquelles on immolait les sacrifices.

Four on one side and four on the other side behind the gate; upon them they kill the victims, in front of the eight tables of sacrifices.

42 Il y avait quatre tables en pierre taillée pour l'holocauste, longues d'une coudée et demie, larges d'une coudée et demie, et hautes d'une coudée. On y posait les instruments avec lesquels on immolait l'holocauste et le sacrifice.

And [there were] four tables of hewn stone for whole burnt offerings, the breadth [of them was] a cubit and a half, and the length [of them] two cubits [and] a half, and [their] height was a cubit: on them they shall place the instruments with which they kill there the whole burnt offerings and the victims.

43 Les crochets, longs d'une largeur de main, étaient fixés à l'intérieur tout autour. La viande de l'offrande était sur les tables.

And they shall have within a border of hewn stone round about of a span broad, and over the tables above screens for covering [them] from the wet and from the heat.

44 A l'extérieur de la porte intérieure, il y avait des chambres pour les chanteurs dans le parvis intérieur, du côté de la porte nord. Elles étaient orientées vers le sud. Une autre, du côté de la porte orientale, était orientée vers le nord.

And he brought me into the inner court, and behold [there were] two chambers in the inner court, one behind the gate looking to the north, turning southward, and one behind the southern gate, but which looks to the north.

45 Il me dit: « Cette pièce, qui est orientée vers le sud, est pour les prêtres qui font le service de la maison.

And he said to me, This chamber that looks to the south, is for the priests that keep the charge of the house.

46 La pièce qui donne sur le nord est destinée aux prêtres chargés de l'entretien de l'autel. Ce sont les fils de Tsadok, qui, parmi les fils de Lévi, s'approchent de Yahvé pour le servir. »

And the chamber that looks to the north is for the priests that keep the charge of the altar: they are the sons of Sadduc, those of the tribe of Levi who draw near to the Lord to serve him.

47 Il mesura le parvis: cent coudées de long et cent coudées de large, en carré. L'autel était devant la maison.

And he measured the court, the length [whereof was] a hundred cubits, and the breadth a hundred cubits, on its four sides; and the altar in front of the house.

48 Puis il me conduisit au porche de la maison, et il mesura chaque poteau du porche, cinq coudées d'un côté et cinq coudées de l'autre. La largeur du porche était de trois coudées de ce côté et de trois coudées de ce côté.

And he brought me into the porch of the house; and he measured the post of the porch, the breadth was five cubits on one side and five cubits on the other side; and the breadth of the door [was] fourteen cubits, and the side-pieces of the door of the porch [were] three cubits on one side, and three cubits on the other side.

49 La longueur du portique était de vingt coudées, et sa largeur de onze coudées, jusqu'aux marches par lesquelles on y montait. Il y avait des piliers près des poteaux, l'un de ce côté et l'autre de ce côté.

And the length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth twelve cubits; and they went up to it by ten steps; and [there were] pillars to the porch, one on this side and one on that side.
