Ézéchiel 38
1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers Gog, du pays de Magog, prince de Rosh, de Meshech et de Tubal, et prophétise contre lui.
Son of man, set your face against Gog, and the land of Magog, Rhos, prince of Mesoch and Thobel, and prophesy against him,
3 Tu diras: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: Voici, j'en veux à toi, Gog, prince de Rosh, de Meshech et de Tubal.
and say to him, Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against you, Rhos prince of Mesoch and Thobel:
4 Je te tournerai, je mettrai des crochets dans tes mâchoires, et je te ferai sortir avec toute ton armée, chevaux et cavaliers, tous revêtus d'une armure complète, une grande troupe, avec bouclier et cuirasse, tous maniant l'épée;
and I will gather you, and all your host, horses and horsemen, all wearing breastplates, with a great multitude, shields and helmets and swords:
5 la Perse, Cush, et Put avec eux, tous avec bouclier et casque;
Persians, and Ethiopians, and Libyans; all with helmets and shields.
6 Gomer et toutes ses hordes, la maison de Togarma, à l'extrémité du nord, et toutes ses hordes, beaucoup de peuples avec toi.
Gomer, and all belonging to him; the house of Thorgama, from the end of the north, and all belonging to him; and many nations with you.
7 "''Prépare-toi, oui, prépare-toi, toi et toutes tes troupes qui sont rassemblées auprès de toi, et sois un gardien pour elles.
Be you prepared, prepare yourself, you, and all your multitude that is assembled with you, and you shall be to me for a guard.
8 Après bien des jours, vous serez visités. Dans la suite des temps, tu entreras dans le pays qu'on ramène de l'épée, qu'on recueille d'un grand nombre de peuples, sur les montagnes d'Israël, qui ont été un désert continuel; mais on le retire des peuples et ils habiteront en sécurité, tous.
He shall be prepared after many days, and he shall come at the end of years, and shall come to a land that is brought back from the sword, when [the people] are gathered from many nations against the land of Israel, which was entirely desolate: and he is come forth out of the nations, and they shall all dwell securely.
9 Tu monteras. Tu viendras comme une tempête. Tu seras comme une nuée pour couvrir le pays, toi et toutes tes hordes, et de nombreux peuples avec toi. »
And you shall go up as rain, and shall arrive as a cloud to cover the land, and there shall be you, and all that are about you, and many nations with you.
10 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « En ce jour-là, des choses te viendront à l'esprit et tu concevras un plan diabolique.
Thus says the Lord God; It shall also come to pass in that day, that thoughts shall come up into your heart, and you shall devise evil devices.
11 Tu diras: « Je monterai dans le pays des villages sans murs. J'irai vers ceux qui sont au repos, qui habitent en sécurité, tous sans murs, sans barres ni portes,
And you shall say, I will go up to the rejected land; I will come upon them that are at ease in tranquility, and dwelling in peace, all inhabiting a land in which there is no wall, nor bars, nor have they doors;
12 pour prendre le pillage et le butin; pour tourner ta main contre les ruines habitées, et contre le peuple rassemblé des nations, qui a du bétail et des biens, qui habite au milieu de la terre.''
to seize plunder, and to take their spoil; to turn my hands against the desolate land that is [now] inhabited, and against a nation that is gathered from many nations, that have acquired property, dwelling in the midst of the land.
13 Saba, Dedan et les marchands de Tarsis, avec tous ses jeunes lions, te demanderont: « Es-tu venu pour prendre le butin? As-tu rassemblé ta troupe pour prendre le butin, pour emporter de l'argent et de l'or, pour emporter du bétail et des biens, pour faire un grand pillage? »
Sabba, and Daedan, and Carthaginian merchants, and all their villages shall say to you, You are come for plunder to take a prey, and to get spoils: you have gathered your multitude to take silver and gold, to carry off property, to take spoils.
14 « C'est pourquoi, fils d'homme, prophétise et dis à Gog: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « En ce jour où mon peuple Israël habitera en sécurité, ne le sauras-tu pas?
Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord; Will you not arise in that day, when my people Israel are dwelling securely,
15 Tu viendras de ton lieu de résidence, des extrémités du nord, toi et beaucoup de peuples avec toi, tous montés sur des chevaux, une grande troupe et une armée puissante.
and come out of your place from the farthest north, and many nations with you? all of them mounted on horses, a great gathering, and a large force?
16 Tu monteras contre mon peuple d'Israël comme une nuée qui couvre le pays. C'est dans la suite des temps que je te ferai venir contre mon pays, afin que les nations me connaissent, quand je serai sanctifié en toi, Gog, sous leurs yeux. »
And you shall come up upon my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land; it shall come to pass in the last days, that I will bring you up upon my land, that all the nations may know me, when I am sanctified in you before them.
17 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Es-tu celui dont j'ai parlé autrefois par mes serviteurs les prophètes d'Israël, qui ont prophétisé en ces jours-là pendant des années que je te ferais venir contre eux?
Thus says the Lord God, to Gog; You are [he] concerning whom I spoke in former times, by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, in those days and years, that I would bring you up against them.
18 En ce jour-là, quand Gog viendra contre le pays d'Israël, dit le Seigneur Yahvé, ma colère montera dans mes narines.
And it shall come to pass in that day, in the day when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord God,
19 Car j'ai parlé dans ma jalousie et dans le feu de ma colère. En ce jour-là, il y aura une grande secousse dans le pays d'Israël,
[that] my wrath and my jealousy shall arise, I have spoken in the fire of mine anger, verily in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20 en sorte que les poissons de la mer, les oiseaux du ciel, les animaux des champs, tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre et tous les hommes qui sont à la surface de la terre trembleront en ma présence. Alors les montagnes seront renversées, les lieux escarpés s'écrouleront, et toutes les murailles tomberont à terre.
and the fish of the sea shall quake at the presence of the Lord, and the birds of the sky and the wild beasts of the field, and all the reptiles that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are on the face of the earth; and the mountains shall be tore, and the valleys shall fall, and every wall on the land shall fall.
21 J'appellerai l'épée contre lui sur toutes mes montagnes, dit le Seigneur Yahvé. « L'épée de chacun sera contre son frère.
And I will summon against it even every fear, says the Lord: the sword of [every] man shall be against his brother.
22 J'entrerai en jugement avec lui par la peste et par le sang. Je ferai pleuvoir sur lui, sur ses hordes et sur les nombreux peuples qui sont avec lui, des pluies torrentielles avec de grosses grêles, du feu et du soufre.
And I will judge him with pestilence, and blood, and sweeping rain, and hailstones; and I will rain upon him fire and brimstone, and upon all that are with him, and upon many nations with him.
23 Je me glorifierai et me sanctifierai, et je me ferai connaître aux yeux de nombreuses nations. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. »''
And I will be magnified, and sanctified, and glorified; and I will be known in the presence of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
