Ézéchiel 37
1 La main de l'Éternel fut sur moi; il me fit sortir par l'Esprit de l'Éternel, et me déposa au milieu de la vallée, qui était pleine d'ossements.
There came over me the inspiration of the Lord, and he carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones;
2 Il me fit passer devant eux tout autour; et voici, il y en avait beaucoup dans la vallée ouverte, et voici, ils étaient très secs.
And he caused me to pass by them all round about; and, behold, there were very many of them on the surface of the valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3 Il me dit: « Fils d'homme, ces os peuvent-ils vivre? » J'ai répondu: « Seigneur Yahvé, tu le sais. »
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live! And I said, O Lord Eternal, thou alone knowest this.
4 Il me dit encore: « Prophétise sur ces os, et dis-leur: Ossements desséchés, écoutez la parole de Yahvé.
And he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear ye the word of the Lord.
5 Le Seigneur Yahvé dit à ces os: « Voici, je vais faire entrer en vous un souffle, et vous vivrez.
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal unto these bones, Behold, I will bring a spirit into you, and ye shall live;
6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je ferai remonter sur vous de la chair, je vous couvrirai de peau, je ferai entrer en vous un souffle, et vous vivrez. Alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé. »'"
And I will lay sinews upon you, and bring up flesh upon you, and draw over you a skin, and put a spirit in you, and ye shall live: and ye shall experience that I am the Lord.
7 Je prophétisai donc comme on me l'avait ordonné. Comme je prophétisais, il y eut un bruit, et voici qu'il y eut un tremblement de terre. Et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres, l'un de l'autre.
And so I prophesied as I had been commanded: and there was a sound, as I prophesied, and behold there was a rustling noise, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
8 Je regardai, et voici, il y avait sur eux des nerfs, de la chair qui montait, et de la peau qui les recouvrait; mais il n'y avait en eux aucun souffle.
And I looked, and behold, there were sinews upon them, and the flesh came up, and the skin was drawn over them above; but no spirit was in them.
9 Et il me dit: « Prophétise au vent, prophétise, fils de l'homme, et dis au vent: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Venez des quatre vents, soufflez, soufflez sur ces morts, et qu'ils vivent »".
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the spirit; prophesy, son of man, and say to the spirit, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, From the four winds come, O spirit, and breathe into these slain ones, that they may live.
10 Et je prophétisai comme il me l'avait ordonné, et le souffle entra en eux, et ils vécurent, et se tinrent sur leurs pieds, une armée extrêmement grande.
And I prophesied as he had commanded me, and there came into them the spirit, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
11 Il me dit alors: « Fils d'homme, ces os, c'est toute la maison d'Israël. Voici qu'ils disent: 'Nos os sont desséchés, et notre espoir est perdu. Nous sommes complètement isolés.
Then said he unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Dried are our bones, and lost is our hope; we are quite cut off.
12 C'est pourquoi prophétise et dis-leur: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que j'ouvre vos tombeaux, je vous fais sortir de vos tombeaux, mon peuple, et je vous fais entrer dans le pays d'Israël.
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will open your graves, and I will cause you to come up out of your graves, O my people, and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
13 Vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'aurai ouvert vos tombeaux et que je vous aurai fait sortir de vos tombeaux, mon peuple.
And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and when I cause you to come up out of your graves, O my people.
14 Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous, et vous vivrez. Alors je vous placerai dans votre pays, et vous saurez que moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé et que j'ai agi, dit Yahvé'".
And I will put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I will place you in your own land: and ye shall acknowledge that I the Lord have spoken it, and done it, saith the Lord.
15 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
16 « Toi, fils de l'homme, prends un bâton et écris dessus: « Pour Juda et pour les enfants d'Israël, ses compagnons ». Prends ensuite un autre bâton, et écris dessus: « Pour Joseph, le bâton d'Ephraïm, et pour toute la maison d'Israël, ses compagnons ».
But thou, son of man, take unto thyself one stick of wood, and write upon it, “For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions;” then take another stick, and write upon it, “For Joseph, —the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:”
17 Puis tu les joindras l'un à l'autre en un seul bâton, pour qu'ils ne fassent qu'un dans ta main.
And join them one to the other unto thee as one stick; and they shall become one in thy hand.
18 « Quand les enfants de ton peuple te diront: « Ne veux-tu pas nous montrer ce que tu entends par là? »
And if the children of thy people should say unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not tell us what thou meanest by these?
19 dis-leur: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici, je prendrai le bâton de Joseph, qui est dans la main d'Ephraïm, et les tribus d'Israël qui lui sont associées; je les mettrai avec lui, avec le bâton de Juda, et j'en ferai un seul bâton, et ils ne feront qu'un dans ma main.
[Then] speak unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, —which is in the hand of Ephraim, —and the tribes of Israel his companions, and will lay them upon him, even the stick of Judah, and make them into one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.
20 Les bâtons sur lesquels vous écrivez seront dans votre main, sous leurs yeux. »
And the sticks whereon thou shalt have written shall be in thy hand before their eyes.
21 Dis-leur: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que je vais prendre les enfants d'Israël du milieu des nations où ils sont allés, je les rassemblerai de tous côtés et je les ramènerai dans leur pays.
And speak unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, whither they are gone, and I will gather them from every side, and bring them unto their own land;
22 Je ferai d'eux une seule nation dans le pays, sur les montagnes d'Israël. Un seul roi sera leur roi à tous. Ils ne seront plus deux nations. Ils ne seront plus du tout divisés en deux royaumes.
And I will make them into one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be to them all for king; and they shall not be any more two nations, nor shall they at any time be divided into two kingdoms any more:
23 Ils ne se souilleront plus par leurs idoles, ni par leurs abominations, ni par aucune de leurs transgressions; mais je les délivrerai de toutes les demeures où ils ont péché, et je les purifierai. Ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.
Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, and with their detestable things, and with all their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and I will cleanse them, and they shall be unto me for a people, and I will be to them for a God.
24 "''Mon serviteur David sera leur roi. Ils auront tous un seul berger. Ils marcheront dans mes ordonnances, observeront mes lois et les mettront en pratique.
And my servant David shall be king over them; and one shepherd shall be for them all: and in my ordinances shall they walk, and my statutes shall they observe, and do them.
25 Ils habiteront dans le pays que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob et dans lequel vos pères ont vécu. Ils y habiteront, eux, leurs enfants et les enfants de leurs enfants, pour toujours. David, mon serviteur, sera leur prince pour toujours.
And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto my servant, unto Jacob, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and David my servant shall be prince unto them for ever.
26 Je conclurai avec eux une alliance de paix. Ce sera une alliance éternelle avec eux. Je les placerai, je les multiplierai, et je placerai mon sanctuaire au milieu d'eux pour toujours.
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, an everlasting covenant shall it be with them: and I will multiply them, and I will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
27 Ma tente sera aussi avec eux. Je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple.
My dwelling also shall be with them, and I will be unto them for a God; and they shall be unto me as a people.
28 Les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé qui sanctifie Israël, lorsque mon sanctuaire sera au milieu d'eux pour toujours. »''"
And the nations shall know that I am the Lord who sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary will be in the midst of them for evermore.
