Ézéchiel 30

1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée de nouveau, en ces termes:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

2 « Fils d'homme, prophétise, et dis: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit »: « Gémissez: « Hélas pour le jour!

Son of man prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord God: Howl ye, Woe, woe to the day:

3 Car le jour est proche, même le jour de Yahvé est proche. Ce sera une journée de nuages, un temps des nations.

For the day is near, yea the day of the Lord is near: a cloudy day, it shall be the time of the nations.

4 Une épée viendra sur l'Égypte, et l'angoisse sera en Ethiopie, quand les morts tombent en Égypte. Ils lui enlèvent sa multitude, et ses fondations sont brisées.

And the sword shall come upon Egypt: and there shall be dread in Ethiopia, when the wounded shall fall in Egypt, and the multitude thereof shall be taken away, and the foundations thereof shall be destroyed.

5 "« L'Éthiopie, Put, Lud, tous les peuples mélangés, Cub, et les enfants du pays qui leur est allié, tomberont avec eux par l'épée. »"

Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the rest of the crowd, and Chub, and the children of the land of the covenant, shall fall with them by the sword.

6 "'Yahvé dit: « Ceux qui soutiennent l'Égypte tomberont aussi. L'orgueil de sa puissance va tomber. Ils y tomberont par l'épée de la tour de Seveneh, » dit le Seigneur Yahvé.

Thus saith the Lord God: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her empire shall be brought down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord the God of hosts.

7 « Ils seront désolés au milieu des pays désolés. Ses villes seront parmi les villes dévastées.

And they shall be desolate in the midst of the lands that are desolate, and the cities thereof shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.

8 Ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. quand j'aurai mis le feu à l'Égypte, et tous ses assistants sont détruits.

And they shall know that I am the Lord: when I shall have set a fire in Egypt, and all the helpers thereof shall be destroyed.

9 "''En ce jour-là, des messagers partiront de devant moi dans des navires pour faire peur aux Éthiopiens insouciants. Il y aura de l'angoisse sur eux, comme au jour de l'Égypte; car voici qu'elle arrive. »

In that day shall messengers go forth from my face in ships to destroy the confidence of Ethiopia, and there shall be dread among them in the day of Egypt: because it shall certainly come.

10 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Je ferai aussi cesser la multitude de l'Égypte, par la main de Nebuchadnezzar, roi de Babylone.

Thus saith the Lord God: I will make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon.

11 Lui et son peuple avec lui, le terrible des nations, seront amenés à détruire le pays. Ils tireront leurs épées contre l'Égypte, et remplir le pays de morts.

He and his people with him, the strongest of nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords upon Egypt: and shall fill the land with the slain.

12 Je mettrai les fleuves à sec, et vendra le pays aux mains de méchants hommes. Je rendrai la terre désolée, et tout ce qui s'y trouve, par la main d'étrangers. Moi, Yahvé, je l'ai dit. »

And I will make the channels of the rivers dry, and will deliver the land into the hand of the wicked: and will lay waste the land and all that is therein by the hands of strangers, I the Lord have spoken it.

13 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Je détruirai aussi les idoles, et je ferai cesser les images de Memphis. Il n'y aura plus de prince du pays d'Égypte. Je mettrai la peur dans le pays d'Égypte.

Thus saith the Lord God: I will also destroy the idols, and I will make an end of the idols of Memphis: and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will cause a terror in the land of Egypt.

14 Je ferai de Pathros une désolation, et mettra le feu à Zoan, et exécutera les jugements sur No.

And I will destroy the land of Phatures, and will make a fire in Taphnis, and will execute judgments in Alexandria.

15 Je déverserai ma colère sur le péché, la forteresse de l'Égypte. Je couperai la multitude de No.

And I will pour out my indignation upon Pelusium the strength of Egypt, and will cut off the multitude of Alexandria.

16 Je mettrai le feu à l'Égypte Le péché sera dans une grande angoisse. Il n'y aura pas de rupture. Memphis aura des adversaires dans la journée.

And I will make a fire in Egypt: Pelusium shall be in pain like a woman in labour, and Alexandria shall be laid waste, and in Memphis there shall be daily distresses.

17 Les jeunes gens d'Aven et de Pibeseth tomberont par l'épée. Ils iront en captivité.

The young men of Heliopolis, and of Bubastus shall fall by the sword, and they themselves shall go into captivity.

18 A Tehaphnehes aussi, le jour se retire, quand j'y briserai les jougs de l'Égypte. L'orgueil de sa puissance cessera en elle. Quant à elle, un nuage la couvrira, et ses filles iront en captivité.

And in Taphnis the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the sceptres of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall cease in her: a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall be led into captivity.

19 Ainsi, j'exécuterai des jugements sur l'Égypte. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. »"

And I will execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

20 La onzième année, au premier mois, le septième jour du mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces termes:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

21 « Fils d'homme, j'ai brisé le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte. Voici, on ne l'a pas pansé, on n'a pas appliqué de médicaments, on n'a pas mis de bande pour le lier, afin qu'il devienne fort pour tenir l'épée.

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharao king of Egypt: and behold it is not bound up, to be healed, to be tied up with clothes, and swathed with linen, that it might recover strength, and hold the sword.

22 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici, j'en veux à Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et je lui briserai les bras, le bras fort et ce qui a été brisé. Je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.

Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against Pharao king of Egypt, and I will break into pieces his strong arm, which is already broken: and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand:

23 Je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, je les disperserai dans tous les pays.

And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.

24 Je renforcerai les bras du roi de Babylone, et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main; mais je briserai les bras de Pharaon, et il gémira devant le roi de Babylone avec le gémissement d'un homme blessé à mort.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and will put my sword in his hand: and I will break the arms of Pharao, and they shall groan bitterly being slain before his face.

25 Je soutiendrai les bras du roi de Babylone, mais les bras de Pharaon tomberont. Alors on saura que je suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai mon épée dans la main du roi de Babylone, et qu'il l'étendra sur le pays d'Égypte.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharao shall fall: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have given my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall have stretched it forth upon the land of Egypt.

26 Je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations et je les disperserai dans tous les pays. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.'"

And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and will scatter them through the countries, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
