Ézéchiel 29
1 La dixième année, au dixième mois, le douzième jour du mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces termes:
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
2 « Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre toute l'Égypte.
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
3 Parle et dis: Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici, je suis contre toi, Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, le grand monstre qui se trouve au milieu de ses rivières, qui a dit: « Mon fleuve est à moi », et je l'ai fait pour moi.
Speak and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against thee, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great crocodile that lieth in the midst of his streams, who hath said, Mine is my stream, and I have made it for myself.
4 Je mettrai des crochets dans vos mâchoires, et je ferai en sorte que les poissons de vos rivières se collent à vos écailles. Je vous ferai sortir du milieu de vos rivières, avec tous les poissons de vos rivières qui s'accrochent à vos écailles.
But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will fasten the fish of thy streams on thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy streams, with all the fish of thy streams which shall stick fast on thy scales.
5 Je te jetterai dans le désert, vous et tous les poissons de vos rivières. Tu vas tomber sur le champ libre. Vous ne serez pas réunis ou rassemblés. Je vous ai donné en nourriture aux animaux de la terre. et aux oiseaux du ciel.
And I will cast thee out into the wilderness, thee with all the fish of thy streams; upon the open field shalt thou fall; thou shalt not be brought in, nor gathered up: to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven have I given thee for food.
6 "''Tous les habitants de l'Égypte sauront que je suis Yahvé, parce qu'ils ont été un bâton de roseau pour la maison d'Israël.
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord; because they have been a reed-staff to the house of Israel.
7 Quand ils t'ont saisi par la main, tu as brisé et déchiré toutes leurs épaules. Quand ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu as brisé et paralysé toutes leurs cuisses. »
When they took hold of thee with the hand, thou wast cracked, and didst rend for them all the shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou wast broken, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
8 "'C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que je fais venir sur vous l'épée, et j'extermine de vous hommes et bêtes.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and I will cut off out of thee man and beast.
9 Le pays d'Égypte sera une désolation et un désert. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. "" Parce qu'il a dit: Le fleuve est à moi, et c'est moi qui l'ai fait »,
And the land of Egypt shall be changed into a waste and ruin, and they shall know that I am the Lord; because he hath said, The stream is mine, and I have made it.
10 voici que j'en veux à toi et à tes fleuves. Je ferai du pays d'Égypte un désert et une désolation totale, depuis la tour de Seveneh jusqu'à la frontière de l'Éthiopie.
Therefore, behold, I will be against thee, and against thy streams, and I will render the land of Egypt a mass of ruins, a waste, and a wilderness, from Migdol to Seveneh even up to the border of Ethiopia.
11 Aucun pied d'homme n'y passera, aucun pied d'animal n'y passera. Il ne sera pas habité pendant quarante ans.
There shall not pass through it the foot of man, and the foot of beast shall not pass through it, and it shall not be inhabited forty years.
12 Je ferai du pays d'Égypte une désolation au milieu des pays qui sont désolés. Ses villes au milieu des villes dévastées seront une désolation pendant quarante ans. Je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, je les disperserai à travers les pays. »
And I will render the land of Egypt a desolate land in the midst of desolated countries, and her cities among the cities that are ruined shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
13 "'Car le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Au bout de quarante ans, je rassemblerai les Égyptiens des peuples où ils ont été dispersés.
For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, [only] at the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they shall have been scattered;
14 Je renverserai la captivité de l'Égypte et je les ferai retourner dans le pays de Pathros, dans le pays de leur naissance. Là, ils formeront un royaume modeste.
And I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their own origin: and they shall be there an unimportant kingdom.
15 Il sera le plus bas des royaumes. Il ne s'élèvera plus au-dessus des nations. Je les diminuerai au point qu'ils ne domineront plus sur les nations.
Among the kingdoms it shall be the lowest; neither shall it raise itself any more above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
16 Il ne sera plus l'assurance de la maison d'Israël, rappelant l'iniquité, quand on se tourne vers lui. Alors ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur Yahvé. »'"
And it shall be no more unto the house of Israel for a dependence, bringing [their] iniquity to remembrance, when they turned after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Eternal.
17 La vingt-septième année, le premier jour du mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18 « Fils d'homme, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, a fait faire à son armée un grand service contre Tyr. Toutes les têtes étaient chauves, et toutes les épaules étaient usées; mais il n'a pas reçu de salaire, ni son armée de Tyr, pour le service qu'il a fait contre elle.
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath caused his army to perform a great service against Tyre; every head hath been made bald, and every shoulder hath been rubbed sore: yet no reward hath come to him or to his army from Tyre, for the service that he hath performed against it.
19 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que je donne le pays d'Égypte à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone. Il enlèvera sa multitude, prendra son pillage et son butin. Ce sera le salaire de son armée.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will give unto Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon the land of Egypt; and he shall carry away its multitude, and take its spoil, and plunder its prey: and this shall be the reward for his army.
20 Je lui ai donné le pays d'Égypte en paiement de son service, parce qu'ils ont travaillé pour moi, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
As his recompense for that which he hath served against it, have I given him the land of Egypt, for that which they had done against me, saith the Lord Eternal.
21 « En ce jour-là, je ferai germer une corne pour la maison d'Israël, et j'ouvrirai ta bouche au milieu d'eux. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. »
On that day will I cause to grow a horn for the house of Israel, and unto thee will I open the mouth in the midst of them: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
