Ézéchiel 25
1 La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2 Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers les fils d'Ammon, et prophétise contre eux.
'Son of man, set thy face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;
3 Dis aux enfants d'Ammon: « Écoute la parole du Seigneur Yahvé! Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce que vous avez dit: « Ah! » contre mon sanctuaire quand il a été profané, contre le pays d'Israël quand il a été dévasté, et contre la maison de Juda quand elle est allée en captivité,
and say unto the children of Ammon: Hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because thou saidst: Aha! against My sanctuary, when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
4 voici que je vous livre aux fils de l'Orient pour qu'ils vous possèdent. Ils établiront chez toi leurs campements et y feront leurs demeures. Ils mangeront tes fruits et boiront ton lait.
therefore, behold, I will deliver thee to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee; they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
5 Je ferai de Rabba une étable pour les chameaux et des fils d'Ammon un lieu de repos pour les troupeaux. Alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé ».
And I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the children of Ammon a couching-place for flocks; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
6 Car le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce que tu as battu des mains, tapé des pieds, et que tu t'es réjoui avec tout le mépris de ton âme contre le pays d'Israël,
For thus saith the Lord GOD: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the disdain of thy soul against the land of Israel;
7 voici que j'étends ma main sur toi, et je te livre au pillage des nations. Je te retrancherai du milieu des peuples, et je te ferai périr hors des pays. Je te détruirai. Alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé. »
therefore, behold, I stretch out My hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries; I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
8 « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce que Moab et Séir disent: Voici la maison de Juda comme toutes les nations,
Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because that Moab and Seir do say: Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the nations,
9 voici, j'ouvrirai le côté de Moab, depuis ses villes, depuis les villes qui sont sur ses frontières, la gloire du pays, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon et Kiriathaim,
therefore, behold, I will open the flank of Moab on the side of the cities, on the side of his cities which are on his frontiers, the beauteous country of Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
10 vers les fils de l'Orient, pour aller contre les fils d'Ammon; et je les donnerai en possession, afin qu'on ne se souvienne pas des fils d'Ammon parmi les nations.
together with the children of Ammon, unto the children of the east, and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations;
11 J'exécuterai des jugements sur Moab. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. »
and I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
12 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce qu'Édom a traité la maison de Juda en se vengeant, parce qu'il l'a gravement offensée et s'est vengé d'elle, »
Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
13 c'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « J'étendrai ma main sur Édom, j'en exterminerai l'homme et le bétail, et je le réduirai en désert depuis Théman. Ils tomberont par l'épée jusqu'à Dedan.
therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: I will stretch out My hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman, even unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.
14 J'exercerai ma vengeance sur Édom par la main de mon peuple d'Israël. On fera à Édom selon ma colère et selon ma fureur. Alors ils connaîtront ma vengeance, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
And I will lay My vengeance upon Edom by the hand of My people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to Mine anger and according to My fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.
15 "'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce que les Philistins se sont vengés, et qu'ils se sont vengés avec mépris de l'âme pour détruire avec une hostilité perpétuelle, »
Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with disdain of soul to destroy, for the old hatred;
16 c'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici, j'étendrai ma main sur les Philistins, j'exterminerai les Chéréthiens, et je détruirai le reste de la côte maritime.
therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will stretch out My hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea-coast.
17 J'exercerai sur eux une grande vengeance, avec des châtiments violents. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé, quand j'exercerai sur eux ma vengeance. »''
And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay My vengeance upon them.'
