Deutéronome 30

1 Lorsque toutes ces choses seront arrivées sur toi, la bénédiction et la malédiction, que j'ai mises devant toi, et que tu t'en souviendras parmi toutes les nations où Yahvé ton Dieu t'a chassé,

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt bethink thyself among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

2 que tu reviendras à Yahvé ton Dieu et que tu obéiras à sa voix, selon tout ce que je te commande aujourd'hui, toi et tes enfants, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme,

and shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and hearken to His voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul;

3 afin qu'alors Yahvé ton Dieu te relâche de la captivité, qu'il ait pitié de toi, qu'il revienne et te rassemble de tous les peuples où Yahvé ton Dieu t'a dispersé.

that then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

4 Si tes exilés sont aux confins des cieux, c'est de là que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te rassemblera, et c'est de là qu'il te ramènera.

If any of thine that are dispersed be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will He fetch thee.

5 Yahvé, ton Dieu, te fera entrer dans le pays que possédaient tes pères, et tu le posséderas. Il te fera du bien, et tu seras plus nombreux que tes pères.

And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and He will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6 L'Éternel, ton Dieu, circoncira ton cœur et le cœur de tes descendants, pour qu'ils aiment l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme, afin que tu vives.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7 Yahvé ton Dieu fera tomber toutes ces malédictions sur tes ennemis et sur ceux qui te haïssent, qui te persécutent.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, that persecuted thee.

8 Tu reviendras et tu obéiras à la voix de Yahvé, et tu mettras en pratique tous ses commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui.

And thou shalt return and hearken to the voice of the LORD, and do all His commandments which I command thee this day.

9 L'Éternel, ton Dieu, te fera prospérer dans tout le travail de tes mains, dans le fruit de ton corps, dans le fruit de ton bétail et dans le fruit de ton sol, pour ton bien; car l'Éternel se réjouira de nouveau à ton sujet, pour ton bien, comme il s'est réjoui à l'égard de tes pères,

And the LORD thy God will make thee over-abundant in all the work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good; for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as He rejoiced over thy fathers;

10 si tu obéis à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, pour observer ses commandements et ses lois qui sont écrits dans ce livre de la loi, si tu te tournes vers l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.

if thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul.

11 Car ce commandement que je vous prescris aujourd'hui n'est pas trop dur pour vous, ni trop éloigné.

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off.

12 Il n'est pas dans le ciel, pour que vous disiez: « Qui montera pour nous au ciel, nous l'apportera et nous l'annoncera, afin que nous le mettions en pratique? ».

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say: 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?'

13 Elle n'est pas non plus au-delà de la mer, pour que vous disiez: « Qui traversera la mer pour nous, nous l'apportera et nous l'annoncera, pour que nous puissions le faire? ».

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say: 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?'

14 Mais la parole est tout près de vous, dans votre bouche et dans votre cœur, afin que vous la mettiez en pratique.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 Voici, j'ai mis aujourd'hui devant vous la vie et la prospérité, et la mort et le malheur.

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil,

16 Car je te commande aujourd'hui d'aimer l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de marcher dans ses voies et de garder ses commandements, ses statuts et ses ordonnances, afin que tu vives et que tu multiplies, et que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession.

in that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances; then thou shalt live and multiply, and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

17 Mais si ton cœur se détourne, si tu n'écoutes pas, si tu te laisses entraîner, si tu te prosternes devant d'autres dieux et si tu les sers,

But if thy heart turn away, and thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 je te déclare aujourd'hui que tu périras. Vous ne prolongerez pas vos jours dans le pays où vous passerez le Jourdain pour en prendre possession.

I declare unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over the Jordan to go in to possess it.

19 J'en prends aujourd'hui à témoin le ciel et la terre: j'ai mis devant vous la vie et la mort, la bénédiction et la malédiction. Choisis donc la vie, afin de vivre, toi et ta postérité,

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed;

20 d'aimer Yahvé ton Dieu, d'obéir à sa voix et de t'attacher à lui, car il est ta vie et la longueur de tes jours, afin que tu habites le pays que Yahvé a juré à tes pères, à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, de leur donner.

to love the LORD thy God, to hearken to His voice, and to cleave unto Him; for that is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
