2 Timothée 4

1 Je vous prescris donc, devant Dieu et devant le Seigneur Jésus-Christ, qui jugera les vivants et les morts à son avènement et dans son royaume:

Now then, in the presence of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge both living and dead, with a view to His appearing and His Kingdom, I give you this charge:

2 prêchez la parole; soyez pressants à temps et à contretemps; reprenez, réprimandez, exhortez, avec toute la patience et l'instruction voulues.

Proclaim the Word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and exhort, with lots of patience and teaching.

3 Car le temps viendra où les hommes n'écouteront pas la saine doctrine, mais où, ayant la démangeaison d'entendre, ils s'amasseront des docteurs selon leurs propres désirs,

Because the time will come when they will not tolerate the sound doctrine; rather, they will accumulate for themselves a great many teachers who will tickle their ears according to their lusts

4 détourneront l'oreille de la vérité et se tourneront vers les fables.

—yes, they will turn their ears away from the Truth and be turned aside to fables.

5 Mais vous, soyez sobres en toutes choses, souffrez des privations, faites l'œuvre d'un évangéliste, et accomplissez votre ministère.

But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

6 Car je suis déjà offert, et le moment de mon départ est arrivé.

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

7 J'ai combattu le bon combat. J'ai achevé le parcours. J'ai gardé la foi.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

8 Dès maintenant, je me réserve la couronne de justice que le Seigneur, le juste juge, me donnera en ce jour-là, et non seulement à moi, mais aussi à tous ceux qui ont aimé son apparition.

Now the crown of the righteousness is reserved for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that Day; and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for His appearing.

9 Soyez diligents pour venir bientôt me voir,

Do your best to come to me quickly;

10 car Démas m'a quitté, ayant aimé le monde présent, et il est allé à Thessalonique; Crescens, en Galatie; et Tite, en Dalmatie. (aiōn g165)

for Demas, loving this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica—Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)

11 Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc et amène-le avec toi, car il m'est utile pour le service.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.

12 Mais j'ai envoyé Tychique à Éphèse.

Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.

13 Apporte à Carpus, quand tu viendras, le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas, et les livres, surtout les parchemins.

Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.

14 Alexandre, le dinandier, m'a fait beaucoup de mal. Le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses actes.

Alexander the coppersmith did me a lot of harm; may the Lord repay him according to his deeds.

15 Méfie-toi de lui, car il s'est beaucoup opposé à nos paroles.

You also guard against him, because he strongly opposed our words.

16 Lors de ma première défense, personne n'est venu me secourir, mais tous m'ont abandonné. Que cela ne leur soit pas reproché.

At my first defense no one came to help me, but all deserted me. May it not be held against them.

17 Mais le Seigneur s'est tenu à mes côtés et m'a fortifié, afin que, par moi, le message soit pleinement proclamé et que tous les païens l'entendent. C'est ainsi que j'ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the nations might hear. Also, I was delivered out of a lion's mouth;

18 Et le Seigneur me délivrera de toute œuvre mauvaise et me conservera pour son Royaume céleste. A lui soit la gloire pour les siècles des siècles. Amen. (aiōn g165)

and the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and save me into His heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

19 Saluez Prisca et Aquila, et la maison d'Onésiphore.

Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20 Éraste est resté à Corinthe, mais j'ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.

Erastus stayed in Corinth, while I left Trophimus sick in Miletus.

21 Aie soin de venir avant l'hiver. Eubulus te salue, ainsi que Pudens, Linus, Claudia, et tous les frères.

Do your best to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers.

22 Le Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit. Que la grâce soit avec vous. Amen.

The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The Grace be with you. Amen.
