2 Corinthiens 9

1 Il est en effet inutile que je vous écrive au sujet du service des saints,

For, indeed, concerning the ministration that [is] for the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you,

2 car je connais votre empressement, dont je me vante en votre nom à ceux de Macédoine, que l'Achaïe a été préparée depuis un an. Votre zèle en a suscité un très grand nombre.

for I have known your readiness of mind, which in your behalf I boast of to Macedonians, that Achaia hath been prepared a year ago, and the zeal of you did stir up the more part,

3 Mais j'ai envoyé les frères pour que notre vantardise en votre faveur ne soit pas vaine à cet égard, afin que, comme je l'ai dit, vous soyez préparés,

and I sent the brethren, that our boasting on your behalf may not be made vain in this respect; that, according as I said, ye may be ready,

4 de peur que, si quelqu'un de Macédoine y vient avec moi et vous trouve non préparés, nous (sans parler de vous) ne soyons déçus dans cette vantardise confiante.

lest if Macedonians may come with me, and find you unprepared, we — we may be put to shame (that we say not — ye) in this same confidence of boasting.

5 J'ai donc pensé qu'il était nécessaire de prier les frères de vous précéder et d'organiser à l'avance le don généreux que vous aviez promis auparavant, afin que ce don soit prêt par générosité et non par cupidité.

Necessary, therefore, I thought [it] to exhort the brethren, that they may go before to you, and may make up before your formerly announced blessing, that this be ready, as a blessing, and not as covetousness.

6 Sachez que celui qui sème avec parcimonie récoltera aussi avec parcimonie. Celui qui sème abondamment récoltera aussi abondamment.

And this: He who is sowing sparingly, sparingly also shall reap; and he who is sowing in blessings, in blessings also shall reap;

7 Que chacun donne selon ce qu'il a décidé dans son cœur, sans réticence ni contrainte, car Dieu aime celui qui donne avec joie.

each one, according as he doth purpose in heart, not out of sorrow or out of necessity, for a cheerful giver doth God love,

8 Et Dieu peut vous faire abonder toute grâce, afin que, disposant toujours de toute suffisance en toutes choses, vous abondiez pour toute bonne œuvre.

and God [is] able all grace to cause to abound to you, that in every thing always all sufficiency having, ye may abound to every good work,

9 Selon qu'il est écrit, « Il a dispersé les gens. Il a donné aux pauvres. Sa justice demeure à jamais. » (aiōn g165)

(according as it hath been written, 'He dispersed abroad, he gave to the poor, his righteousness doth remain to the age,') (aiōn g165)

10 Or, que celui qui fournit la semence au semeur et le pain pour la nourriture, fournisse et multiplie votre semence pour les semailles, et augmente les fruits de votre justice,

and may He who is supplying seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

11 vous enrichissant en tout pour toute la générosité qui produit les actions de grâces à Dieu par nous.

in every thing being enriched to all liberality, which doth work through us thanksgiving to God,

12 En effet, la libéralité dont vous vous acquittez, non seulement comble les manques parmi les saints, mais encore abonde en actions de grâces envers Dieu,

because the ministration of this service not only is supplying the wants of the saints, but is also abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

13 car, par la preuve qu'elle apporte, ils glorifient Dieu pour l'obéissance de votre confession à la Bonne Nouvelle du Christ et pour la générosité de votre contribution à leur égard et à l'égard de tous,

through the proof of this ministration glorifying God for the subjection of your confession to the good news of the Christ, and [for] the liberality of the fellowship to them and to all,

14 tandis qu'eux-mêmes, en vous suppliant, aspirent à vous à cause de l'immense grâce de Dieu en vous.

and by their supplication in your behalf, longing after you because of the exceeding grace of God upon you;

15 Grâces soient rendues à Dieu pour son don ineffable!

thanks also to God for His unspeakable gift!
