2 Chroniques 11
1 Lorsque Roboam fut arrivé à Jérusalem, il rassembla la maison de Juda et de Benjamin, cent quatre-vingt mille hommes d'élite qui étaient des guerriers, pour combattre Israël, afin de ramener le royaume à Roboam.
And he came Rehoboam Jerusalem and he called together [the] house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen [man] maker[s] of war to do battle with Israel to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Mais la parole de Yahvé fut adressée à Shemaya, homme de Dieu, en ces termes:
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Shemaiah [the] man of God saying.
3 « Parle à Roboam, fils de Salomon, roi de Juda, et à tout Israël en Juda et en Benjamin, et dis-leur:
Say to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon [the] king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying.
4 « Yahvé dit: Vous ne monterez pas, et vous ne combattrez pas vos frères! Chacun retournera dans sa maison, car cette chose est de moi. »" Ils écoutèrent donc les paroles de Yahvé et s'en retournèrent après avoir combattu Jéroboam.
Thus he says Yahweh not you must go up and not you must do battle with countrymen your return everyone to own house his for from with me it has occurred the thing this and they obeyed [the] words of Yahweh and they turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 Roboam habita à Jérusalem, et il bâtit en Juda des villes pour sa défense.
And he dwelt Rehoboam in Jerusalem and he built cities to fortification in Judah.
6 Il bâtit Bethléem, Etam, Tekoa,
And he built Beth-lehem and Etam and Tekoa.
7 Beth Tsur, Soco, Adullam,
And Beth Zur and Socoh and Adullam.
8 Gath, Maréscha, Ziph,
And Gath and Mareshah and Ziph.
9 Adoraïm, Lakis, Azéka,
And Adoraim and Lachish and Azekah.
10 Zorah, Aijalon et Hébron, qui sont des villes fortes en Juda et en Benjamin.
And Zorah and Aijalon and Hebron which [were] in Judah and in Benjamin cities of fortifications.
11 Il fortifia les places fortes et y plaça des chefs, avec des provisions de vivres, d'huile et de vin.
And he strengthened the fortifications and he put in them commanders and supplies of food and oil and wine.
12 Il plaça des boucliers et des lances dans toutes les villes, et les rendit extrêmement fortes. Juda et Benjamin lui appartenaient.
And [were] in every city and a city body shields and spears and he made strong them to abundance exceedingly and it belonged to him Judah and Benjamin.
13 Les prêtres et les lévites qui étaient dans tout Israël se tinrent avec lui de tout leur territoire.
And the priests and the Levites who [were] in all Israel they took their stand at him from all territory their.
14 Car les Lévites quittèrent leurs pâturages et leurs biens, et vinrent en Juda et à Jérusalem; car Jéroboam et ses fils les avaient rejetés, afin qu'ils ne remplissent pas les fonctions de prêtres pour Yahvé.
For they forsook the Levites pasture lands their and property their and they went to Judah and to Jerusalem for he had rejected them Jeroboam and sons his from serving as priests to Yahweh.
15 Il établit lui-même des prêtres pour les hauts lieux, pour les idoles de boucs et de veaux qu'il avait faites.
And he appointed for himself priests for the high places and for the goats and for the calves which he had made.
16 Après eux, de toutes les tribus d'Israël, ceux qui avaient mis leur cœur à chercher l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, venaient à Jérusalem pour sacrifier à l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères.
And after them from all [the] tribes of Israel those [who] set heart their to seek Yahweh [the] God of Israel they came Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
17 Ils renforcèrent le royaume de Juda et affermirent Roboam, fils de Salomon, pendant trois ans, car ils marchèrent trois ans dans la voie de David et de Salomon.
And they strengthened [the] kingdom of Judah and they strengthened Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon for years three for they walked in [the] way of David and Solomon for years three.
18 Roboam prit une femme pour lui, Mahalath, fille de Jerimoth, fils de David, et d'Abihail, fille d'Eliab, fils de Jessé.
And he took for himself Rehoboam a wife Mahalath ([the] daughter of *Q(K)*) Jerimoth [the] son of David Abihail [the] daughter of Eliab [the] son of Jesse.
19 Elle lui donna des fils: Jeush, Shemariah et Zaham.
And she bore to him sons Jeush and Shemariah and Zaham.
20 Après elle, il prit Maaca, petite-fille d'Absalom, et elle lui enfanta Abija, Attaï, Ziza et Shelomith.
And after her he took Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom and she bore to him Abijah and Attai and Ziza and Shelomith.
21 Roboam aimait Maaca, petite-fille d'Absalom, plus que toutes ses femmes et ses concubines; il prit dix-huit femmes et soixante concubines, et engendra vingt-huit fils et soixante filles.
And he loved Rehoboam Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom more than all wives his and concubines his for wives eight-teen he had taken and concubines sixty and he fathered twenty and eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 Roboam nomma Abija, fils de Maaca, chef, prince parmi ses frères, car il avait l'intention de le faire roi.
And he appointed to the chief Rehoboam Abijah [the] son of Maacah to leader among brothers his for to make king him.
23 Il fit preuve de sagesse et dispersa quelques-uns de ses fils dans tous les pays de Juda et de Benjamin, dans toutes les villes fortifiées. Il leur donna de la nourriture en abondance, et il leur chercha beaucoup de femmes.
And he acted wisely and he distributed some of all sons his to all [the] lands of Judah and Benjamin to all [the] cities of fortifications and he gave to them food to abundance and he sought a multitude of wives.
