1 Corinthiens 9
1 Ne suis-je pas libre? Ne suis-je pas un apôtre? N'ai-je pas vu Jésus-Christ, notre Seigneur? N'êtes-vous pas mon œuvre dans le Seigneur?
Am I not an Apostle? am I not fre? have I not sene Iesus Christ oure lorde?
2 Si je ne suis pas apôtre pour les autres, je le suis du moins pour vous, car vous êtes le sceau de mon apostolat dans le Seigneur.
Are not ye my worke in the lorde. Yf I be not an Apostle vnto other yet am I vnto you. For the seale of myne Apostleshippe are ye in the lorde.
3 Voici ma défense devant ceux qui m'examinent:
Myne answer to them that axe me is this.
4 N'avons-nous pas le droit de manger et de boire?
Have we not power to eate and to drynke?
5 N'avons-nous pas le droit de prendre avec nous une femme croyante, comme les autres apôtres, les frères du Seigneur et Céphas?
Ether have we not power to leade about a sister to wyfe as wel as other Apostles and as the brethren of the lorde and Cephas?
6 Ou bien n'avons-nous pas le droit, Barnabé et moi, de ne pas travailler?
Ether only I and Barnabas have not power this to do?
7 Quel soldat a jamais servi à ses propres frais? Qui plante une vigne, et ne mange pas de son fruit? Ou qui fait paître un troupeau, et ne boit pas le lait du troupeau?
who goeth a warfare eny tyme at his awne cost? who planteth a vynearde and eateth not of the frute? Who fedeth a flocke and eateth not of the mylke?
8 Est-ce que je dis ces choses selon la manière des hommes? Ou bien la loi ne dit-elle pas la même chose?
Saye I these thinges after the manner of men? Or sayth not the lawe the same also?
9 Car il est écrit dans la loi de Moïse: « Tu ne muselleras pas le bœuf pendant qu'il foule le grain. » Est-ce pour les bœufs que Dieu s'inquiète,
For it ys written in the lawe of Moses. Thou shall not mosell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne. Doth God take thought for oxen?
10 ou bien est-ce pour nous qu'il le dit? Oui, c'est pour nous que cela a été écrit, car celui qui laboure doit labourer avec espérance, et celui qui bat avec espérance doit participer à son espérance.
Ether sayth he it not all to gedder for oure sakes? For oure sakes no doute this is written: that he which eareth shuld eare in hope: and that he which thressheth in hope shuld be parttaker of his hope.
11 Si nous vous avons semé des choses spirituelles, est-ce une grande chose si nous récoltons vos choses charnelles?
Yf we sowe vnto you spirituall thynges: is it a greate thynge yf we reepe youre carnall thynges
12 Si d'autres ont part à ce droit sur vous, n'en avons-nous pas encore plus? Néanmoins, nous n'avons pas usé de ce droit, mais nous supportons tout, afin de ne pas faire obstacle à la Bonne Nouvelle de Christ.
Yf other be parttakers of this power over you? wherfore are not we rather. Neverthelesse we have not vsed this power: but suffre all thinges lest we shuld hynder the gospell of Christ.
13 Ne savez-vous pas que ceux qui servent autour des choses sacrées mangent des choses du temple, et que ceux qui servent l'autel ont leur part avec l'autel?
Do ye not vnderstoder how that they which minister in the temple have their fyndynge of the temple? And they which wayte at the aulter are partakers with ye aultre?
14 De même, le Seigneur a voulu que ceux qui annoncent la Bonne Nouvelle vivent de cette Bonne Nouvelle.
Even so also dyd ye lorde ordayne that they which preache ye gospell shuld live of the gospell.
15 Mais je n'ai usé d'aucune de ces choses, et je n'écris pas ces choses pour qu'il en soit ainsi dans mon cas; car j'aime mieux mourir que de voir quelqu'un annuler ma vantardise.
But I have vsed none of these thinges. Nether wrote I these thinges that it shuld be so done vnto me. For it were better for me to dye the yt eny man shnld take this reioysinge from me
16 Car si je prêche la Bonne Nouvelle, je n'ai pas à me vanter, car la nécessité m'en est imposée; mais malheur à moi si je ne prêche pas la Bonne Nouvelle.
In that I preache the gospell I have nothinge to reioyce of. For necessite is put vnto me. Wo is it vnto me yf I preache not the gospell.
17 Car si je fais cela de ma propre volonté, j'ai une récompense. Mais si ce n'est pas de ma propre volonté, c'est une charge qui m'est confiée.
If I do it with a good will I have a rewarde. But yf I do it agaynst my will an office is committed vnto me.
18 Quelle est donc ma récompense? Que, lorsque je prêche la Bonne Nouvelle, je puisse présenter la Bonne Nouvelle du Christ sans frais, afin de ne pas abuser de mon autorité dans la Bonne Nouvelle.
What is my rewarde then? Verely that whe I preache the gospell I make the gospell of Christ fre yt I misvse not myne auctorite in ye gospel
19 Car, bien que je sois libre à l'égard de tous, je me suis rendu esclave de tous, afin de gagner le plus grand nombre.
For though I be fre from all men yet have I made my silfe servaunt vnto all men that I myght wynne the moo.
20 Pour les Juifs, je me suis fait Juif, afin de gagner les Juifs; pour les esclaves de la loi, comme esclaves de la loi, afin de gagner les esclaves de la loi;
Vnto the Iewes I became as a Iewe to winne ye Iewes. To the that were vnder the lawe was I made as though I had bene vnder the lawe to wynne the that were vnder the lawe.
21 pour les sans loi, comme sans loi (n'étant pas sans loi envers Dieu, mais sous loi envers Christ), afin de gagner les sans loi.
To them that were without lawe be ca I as though I had bene without lawe (whe I was not without lawe as perteyninge to god but vnder a lawe as concerninge Christ) to wynne the that were without lawe.
22 Pour les faibles, je me suis fait faible, afin de gagner les faibles. Je suis devenu tout à tous les hommes, afin d'en sauver quelques-uns par tous les moyens.
To the weake became I as weake to wynne the weake. In all thinge I fassioned my silfe to all men to save at ye lest waye some.
23 Or, je fais cela à cause de la Bonne Nouvelle, afin d'y avoir part en commun.
And this I do for the gospels sake that I might have my parte therof.
24 Ne savez-vous pas que ceux qui courent dans une course courent tous, mais qu'un seul reçoit le prix? Courez ainsi, afin de gagner.
Perceave ye not how that they which runne in a course runne all yet but one receaveth the rewarde. So runne that ye maye obtayne.
25 Tout homme qui s'efforce dans les jeux s'exerce à la maîtrise de soi en toutes choses. Ils le font pour recevoir une couronne corruptible, mais nous, une incorruptible.
Euery man yt proveth masteryes abstaineth from all thinges. And they do it to obtayne a corruptible croune: but we to obtayne an vncorruptible croune:
26 C'est pourquoi je cours comme cela, non sans but. Je combats comme cela, non pas en battant l'air,
I therfore so runne not as at an vncertayne thinge. So fyght I not as one yt beateth the ayer:
27 mais en battant mon corps et en le soumettant, de peur que, après avoir prêché aux autres, je ne sois moi-même disqualifié.
but I tame my body and bringe it into subieccio lest after that I have preached to other I my silfe shuld be a castawaye.
