1 Corinthiens 10
1 Or je ne veux pas que vous ignoriez, frères, que nos pères ont tous été sous la nuée, qu'ils ont tous passé par la mer,
Britheren, Y nyle, that ye vnknowe, that alle oure fadris weren vndur cloude, and alle passiden the see;
2 qu'ils ont tous été baptisés en Moïse dans la nuée et dans la mer,
and alle weren baptisid in Moises, in the cloude and in the see;
3 qu'ils ont tous mangé le même aliment spirituel,
and alle eeten the same spiritual mete,
4 qu'ils ont tous bu le même breuvage spirituel. Car ils buvaient à un rocher spirituel qui les suivait, et ce rocher était le Christ.
and alle drunken the same spiritual drynke; thei drunken of the spiritual stoon folewynge hem; and the stoon was Crist.
5 Cependant, Dieu n'a pas été satisfait de la plupart d'entre eux, car ils ont été renversés dans le désert.
But not in ful manye of hem it was wel pleasaunt to God; for whi thei weren cast doun in desert.
6 Or, ces choses nous ont servi d'exemples, afin que nous ne convoitions pas les choses mauvaises, comme ils les ont convoitées.
But these thingis ben don in figure of vs, that we be not coueyteris of yuele thingis, as thei coueitiden.
7 Ne soyez pas idolâtres, comme l'étaient quelques-uns d'entre eux. Comme il est écrit: « Le peuple s'asseyait pour manger et boire, et se levait pour jouer. »
Nether be ye maad idolatreris, as summe of hem; as it is writun, The puple sat to ete and drynke, and thei risen vp to pleie.
8 Ne nous livrons pas à l'impudicité, comme l'ont fait certains d'entre eux, et en un seul jour vingt-trois mille personnes sont tombées.
Nether do we fornycacioun, as summe of hem diden fornicacioun, and thre and twenti thousyndis weren deed in o dai.
9 Ne mettons pas le Christ à l'épreuve, comme quelques-uns d'entre eux l'ont fait, et ils ont péri par les serpents.
Nethir tempte we Crist, as summe of hem temptiden, and perischiden of serpentis.
10 Ne rouspétez pas, comme quelques-uns d'entre eux ont rouspété et ont péri par le destructeur.
Nether grutche ye, as summe of hem grutchiden, and thei perischiden of a distrier.
11 Or, toutes ces choses leur sont arrivées pour servir d'exemple, et elles ont été écrites pour notre instruction, à nous sur qui la fin des temps est venue. (aiōn g165)
And alle these thingis felliden to hem in figure; but thei ben writun to oure amendyng, in to whiche the endis of the worldis ben comun. (aiōn g165)
12 Que celui qui croit être debout prenne donc garde de ne pas tomber.
Therfor he that gessith hym, `that he stondith, se he, that he falle not.
13 Aucune tentation ne vous a saisi, sinon celle qui est commune à l'homme. Dieu est fidèle, il ne permettra pas que vous soyez tentés au-delà de vos forces, mais il ouvrira avec la tentation le chemin de la fuite, afin que vous puissiez la supporter.
Temptacioun take `not you, but mannus temptacioun; for God is trewe, which schal not suffre you to be temptid aboue that that ye moun; but he schal make with temptacioun also purueyaunce, that ye moun suffre.
14 C'est pourquoi, mes bien-aimés, fuyez l'idolâtrie.
Wherfor, ye most dereworthe to me, fle ye fro worschiping of maumetis.
15 Je parle comme à des sages. Jugez de ce que je dis.
As to prudent men Y speke, deme ye you silf that thing that Y seie.
16 La coupe de bénédiction que nous bénissons, n'est-elle pas une participation au sang du Christ? Le pain que nous rompons, n'est-il pas une participation au corps du Christ?
Whether the cuppe of blessyng which we blessen, is not the comynyng of Cristis blood? and whether the breed which we breken, is not the takyng of the bodi of the Lord?
17 Parce qu'il y a un seul pain, nous, qui sommes nombreux, nous formons un seul corps, car nous participons tous à un seul pain.
For we manye ben o breed and o bodi, alle we that taken part of o breed and of o cuppe.
18 Considérez Israël selon la chair. Ceux qui mangent les sacrifices ne participent-ils pas à l'autel?
Se ye Israel aftir the fleisch, whethir thei that eeten sacrifices, ben not partyneris of the auter?
19 Que dis-je donc? Qu'une chose sacrifiée aux idoles est quelque chose, ou qu'une idole est quelque chose?
What therfor seie Y, that a thing that is offrid to idols is ony thing, or that the idol is ony thing?
20 Mais je dis que les choses que les païens sacrifient, ils les sacrifient aux démons et non à Dieu, et je ne veux pas que vous soyez en communion avec les démons.
But tho thingis that hethene men offren, thei offren to deuelis, and not to God. But Y nyle, that ye ben maad felowis of feendis; for ye moun not drynke the cuppe of the Lord, and the cuppe of fendis;
21 Vous ne pouvez pas boire à la fois la coupe du Seigneur et la coupe des démons. Vous ne pouvez pas participer à la fois à la table du Seigneur et à la table des démons.
ye moun not be parteneris of the boord of the Lord, and of the bord of feendis.
22 Ou bien provoquons-nous le Seigneur à la jalousie? Sommes-nous plus forts que lui?
Whether we han enuye to the Lord? whether we ben strengere then he? Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but not alle thingis ben spedeful.
23 « Tout m'est permis », mais tout n'est pas profitable. 23 « Tout m'est permis », mais tout n'est pas profitable.
Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but not alle thingis edifien.
24 Que personne ne cherche son propre bien, mais que chacun cherche le bien de son prochain.
No man seke that thing that is his owne, but that thing that is of an othere.
25 Tout ce qui se vend dans la boucherie, mangez-le, sans poser de question pour la conscience,
Al thing that is seld in the bocherie, ete ye, axynge no thing for conscience.
26 car « la terre est au Seigneur, et sa plénitude. »
The erthe and the plente of it is, the Lordis.
27 Si quelqu'un de ceux qui ne croient pas t'invite à manger, et que tu veuilles y aller, mange ce qu'on te propose, sans poser de questions de conscience.
If ony of hethene men clepith you to soper, and ye wole go, al thing that is set to you, ete ye, axynge no thing for conscience.
28 Mais si quelqu'un te dit: « Ceci a été offert aux idoles », n'en mange pas, par égard pour celui qui te l'a dit et par égard pour ta conscience. Car « la terre est au Seigneur, avec toute sa plénitude ».
But if ony man seith, This thing is offrid to idols, nyle ye ete, for hym that schewide, and for conscience; and Y seie not,
29 Conscience, dis-je, non pas la tienne, mais celle de l'autre. Car pourquoi ma liberté serait-elle jugée par une autre conscience?
thi conscience, but of an othere. But wherto is my fredom demed of an othere mannus conscience?
30 Si je participe avec reconnaissance, pourquoi suis-je dénoncé pour une chose dont je rends grâce?
Therfor if Y take part with grace, what am Y blasfemed, for that that Y do thankyngis?
31 Ainsi, que vous mangiez ou buviez, ou que vous fassiez quoi que ce soit, faites tout pour la gloire de Dieu.
Therfor whether ye eten, or drynken, or don ony other thing, do ye alle thingis `in to the glorie of God.
32 Ne donnez aucune occasion de chute, ni aux Juifs, ni aux Grecs, ni à l'assemblée de Dieu;
Be ye with outen sclaundre to Jewis, and to hethene men, and to the chirche of God;
33 de même que moi aussi je suis agréable à tous en toutes choses, ne cherchant pas mon propre avantage, mais l'avantage de la multitude, afin qu'elle soit sauvée.
as Y bi alle thingis plese to alle men, not sekynge that that is profitable to me, but that that is profitable to manye men, that thei be maad saaf.
