1 Des fils d'Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub et Shimron, quatre.
Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 Fils de Tola: Uzzi, Rephaja, Jeriel, Jahmaï, Ibsam et Shemuel, chefs des maisons de leurs pères, de Tola; hommes vaillants dans leurs générations. Leur nombre, du temps de David, était de vingt-deux mille six cents.
Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
3 Fils d'Uzzi: Jizrachia. Fils de Jizrachiah: Micaël, Abdias, Joël et Jischja, au nombre de cinq; tous étaient des chefs.
Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
4 Avec eux, selon leurs générations, selon les maisons de leurs pères, il y avait des troupes pour la guerre, au nombre de trente-six mille; car ils avaient beaucoup de femmes et de fils.
In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
5 Leurs frères, parmi toutes les familles d'Issacar, hommes vaillants, tous enregistrés selon leur généalogie, étaient quatre-vingt-sept mille.
In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
6 Fils de Benjamin: Bela, Becher et Jediael, trois.
[Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 Fils de Béla: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth et Iri, cinq; chefs de maisons paternelles, vaillants hommes; ils étaient au nombre de vingt-deux mille trente-quatre par généalogie.
Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
8 Fils de Becher: Zemirah, Joas, Eliezer, Eliœnai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth et Alemeth. Tous ceux-là étaient les fils de Bécher.
Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
9 Ils furent classés par généalogie, selon leurs générations, chefs des maisons de leurs pères, vaillants hommes, au nombre de vingt mille deux cents.
In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
10 Fils de Jediaël: Bilhan. Fils de Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaana, Zethan, Tarsis et Ahishahar.
Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Jediaël, selon les chefs de famille de leurs pères, hommes vaillants, au nombre de dix-sept mille deux cents, aptes à aller à l'armée pour la guerre.
They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
12 Il en était de même de Shuppim, de Huppim, des fils de Ir, de Hushim et des fils de Aher.
Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
13 Fils de Nephtali: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, Shallum, et les fils de Bilha.
Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
14 Fils de Manassé: Asriel, qu'a porté sa concubine l'Aramitesse. Elle enfanta Makir, père de Galaad.
[This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
15 Machir prit une femme de Huppim et de Shuppim, dont la sœur s'appelait Maaca. Le nom de la seconde était Zelophehad; et Zelophehad eut des filles.
Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
16 Maaca, femme de Makir, enfanta un fils, qu'elle appela Peresh. Le nom de son frère était Sheresh; ses fils étaient Ulam et Rakem.
Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 Fils d'Ulam: Bedan. Ce sont là les fils de Galaad, fils de Makir, fils de Manassé.
Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
18 Sa sœur Hammolecheth enfanta Ishhod, Abiezer et Mahla.
Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 Les fils de Shemida furent: Ahian, Sichem, Likhi et Aniam.
[One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 Fils d'Ephraïm: Shuthelah, Bered, son fils, Tahath, son fils, Eleada, son fils, Tahath, son fils,
[This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.
21 Zabad, son fils, Shuthelah, son fils, Ezer et Elead, que les hommes de Gath, nés dans le pays, tuèrent, parce qu'ils étaient descendus pour prendre leurs troupeaux.
Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.
22 Ephraïm, leur père, fut longtemps dans le deuil, et ses frères vinrent le consoler.
Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
23 Il alla vers sa femme; elle conçut et enfanta un fils, qu'il appela Beriah, parce qu'il y avait du trouble dans sa maison.
Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
24 Sa fille était Schéérah, qui bâtit Beth Horon le bas et le haut, et Uzzen Schéérah.
Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.
25 Il eut pour fils Repha, pour fils Resheph, pour fils Telah, pour fils Tahan, pour fils
[Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
26 Ladan, pour fils Ammihud, pour fils Elishama, pour fils
Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
27 Nun, pour fils et Josué, pour fils.
Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
28 Leurs possessions et leurs établissements étaient Béthel et ses villes, à l'orient Naaran, à l'occident Guézer et ses villes, Sichem et ses villes, jusqu'à Azza et ses villes,
[This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.
29 et, sur le territoire des fils de Manassé, Beth-Shean et ses villes, Taanac et ses villes, Meguiddo et ses villes, Dor et ses villes. Les enfants de Joseph, fils d'Israël, habitèrent dans ces localités.
Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
30 Fils d'Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi et Beriah. Sérah était leur sœur.
Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31 Fils de Beria: Héber et Malkiel, qui fut le père de Birzaith.
Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith
32 Héber engendra Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham et Shua, leur sœur.
Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.
33 Fils de Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal et Ashvath. Ce sont les fils de Japhlet.
Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.
34 Fils de Shemer: Ahi, Rohga, Jehubba et Aram.
Japhlet’s [younger] brother was Shomer. Shomer’s sons were Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 Fils de Helem, son frère: Zopha, Imna, Shelesh et Amal.
Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 Fils de Zopha: Sua, Harnépher, Schual, Beri, Imrah,
Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Schilsha, Ithran et Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
38 Fils de Jéther: Jephunné, Pispa et Ara.
Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 Fils d'Ulla: Arach, Hanniel et Rizia.
[Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 Tous ceux-là étaient les fils d'Aser, chefs des maisons paternelles, hommes de choix et vaillants, chefs des princes. Le nombre de ceux qui étaient inscrits sur les listes généalogiques pour servir à la guerre était de vingt-six mille hommes.
All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
