1 Chroniques 29
1 Le roi David dit à toute l'assemblée: « Salomon, mon fils, que Dieu seul a choisi, est encore jeune et tendre, et l'ouvrage est grand; car le palais n'est pas pour un homme, mais pour Yahvé Dieu.
And king David said to all the congregation, Solomon my son, the one whom God has chosen, is young and tender, and the work is great; for this palace is not to be for man, but for Jehovah Elohim.
2 J'ai préparé de toutes mes forces, pour la maison de mon Dieu, de l'or pour ce qui est d'or, de l'argent pour ce qui est d'argent, du bronze pour ce qui est de bronze, du fer pour ce qui est de fer, du bois pour ce qui est de bois, des pierres d'onyx, des pierres à enchâsser, des pierres à incruster de diverses couleurs, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses et des pierres de marbre en abondance.
And I have prepared according to all my power for the house of my God gold for [things of] gold, and silver for [things of] silver, and brass for [things of] brass, iron for [things of] iron, and wood for [things of] wood; onyx stones, and [stones] to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and white marble in abundance.
3 De plus, comme j'ai jeté mon dévolu sur la maison de mon Dieu, comme j'ai un trésor personnel d'or et d'argent, je le donne à la maison de mon Dieu, en sus de tout ce que j'ai préparé pour la maison sainte:
And moreover, in my affection for the house of my God I have given of my own property of gold and silver, for the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:
4 trois mille talents d'or, de l'or d'Ophir, et sept mille talents d'argent fin, pour revêtir les murs des maisons,
three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;
5 d'or pour les objets d'or, d'argent pour les objets d'argent, et pour toutes sortes d'ouvrages à faire par les mains des artisans. Qui donc se propose aujourd'hui de se consacrer volontairement à Yahvé? »
gold for [things of] gold, and silver for [things of] silver, and for all manner of work by the hands of artificers. And who is willing to offer to Jehovah this day?
6 Alors les chefs des maisons paternelles, les chefs des tribus d'Israël, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, et les responsables des travaux du roi firent des offrandes volontaires.
And the chief fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the comptrollers of the king's business, offered willingly.
7 Ils donnèrent pour le service de la maison de Dieu cinq mille talents d'or et dix mille dariques, dix mille talents d'argent, dix-huit mille talents d'airain et cent mille talents de fer.
And they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8 Les gens chez qui on trouvait des pierres précieuses les donnèrent au trésor de la maison de l'Éternel, sous la direction de Jehiel, le Gershonite.
And they with whom stones were found gave [them] to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, into the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Le peuple se réjouit, parce qu'il avait fait des offrandes volontaires, parce qu'il avait fait des offrandes volontaires à l'Éternel avec un cœur parfait, et le roi David se réjouit aussi avec une grande joie.
And the people rejoiced because they offered willingly, for with perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
10 David bénit Yahvé devant toute l'assemblée, et il dit: « Tu es béni, Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, notre père, pour les siècles des siècles.
And David blessed Jehovah in the sight of all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, Jehovah, the God of our father Israel, for ever and ever.
11 A toi, Yahvé, la grandeur, la puissance, la gloire, la victoire et la majesté! Car tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre t'appartient. C'est à toi qu'appartient le royaume, Yahvé, et tu es élevé comme chef au-dessus de tout.
Thine, Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the splendour, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is thine: thine, Jehovah, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as Head above all;
12 C'est de toi que viennent la richesse et la gloire, et c'est toi qui domines tout. Dans ta main sont la puissance et la force! C'est dans ta main que se trouve la grandeur et la force de tous!
and riches and glory are of thee, and thou rulest over everything; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make all great and strong.
13 Maintenant, notre Dieu, nous te remercions et nous louons ton nom glorieux.
And now, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
14 Mais qui suis-je, et qui est mon peuple, pour que nous puissions faire une telle offrande? Car tout vient de toi, et nous t'avons donné de ton propre fonds.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer willingly after this manner? for all is of thee, and of that which is from thy hand have we given thee.
15 Car nous sommes étrangers devant vous et étrangers, comme l'ont été tous nos pères. Nos jours sur la terre sont comme une ombre, et il n'y a pas de reste.
For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no hope [of life].
16 Yahvé notre Dieu, tout ce que nous avons préparé pour te bâtir une maison pour ton saint nom vient de ta main et t'appartient en propre.
Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house to thy holy name, is of thy hand, and is all thine own.
17 Je sais aussi, mon Dieu, que tu éprouves le cœur et que tu prends plaisir à la droiture. Moi, dans la droiture de mon cœur, j'ai offert volontairement toutes ces choses. Maintenant, j'ai vu avec joie ton peuple, qui est ici présent, t'offrir volontairement.
And I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart have I willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, offer willingly to thee.
18 Yahvé, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, nos pères, garde ce désir à jamais dans les pensées du cœur de ton peuple, et prépare son cœur pour toi;
Jehovah, God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and direct their hearts to thee!
19 et donne à Salomon, mon fils, un cœur parfait, pour qu'il observe tes commandements, tes témoignages et tes statuts, qu'il fasse toutes ces choses et qu'il bâtisse le palais pour lequel j'ai pris des dispositions. »
And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.
20 Et David dit à toute l'assemblée: « Maintenant, bénissez Yahvé votre Dieu! » Toute l'assemblée bénit l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, et ils inclinèrent la tête et se prosternèrent devant l'Éternel et le roi.
And David said to all the congregation, Bless now Jehovah your God. And all the congregation blessed Jehovah the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and did homage to Jehovah and the king.
21 Ils offrirent des sacrifices et des holocaustes à Yahvé le lendemain de ce jour, mille taureaux, mille béliers et mille agneaux, avec leurs libations et leurs sacrifices en abondance pour tout Israël,
And they sacrificed sacrifices to Jehovah, and offered up burnt-offerings to Jehovah, on the morrow after that day: a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.
22 et ils mangèrent et burent devant Yahvé ce jour-là avec une grande joie. Ils établirent roi pour la seconde fois Salomon, fils de David, et ils l'oignirent devant Yahvé comme prince, et Zadok comme sacrificateur.
And they ate and drank before Jehovah on that day with great joy. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.
23 Salomon s'assit sur le trône de Yahvé comme roi à la place de David, son père, et il prospéra, et tout Israël lui obéit.
And Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
24 Tous les princes, les puissants, et aussi tous les fils du roi David se soumirent au roi Salomon.
And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king.
25 Yahvé magnifia Salomon aux yeux de tout Israël et lui donna une majesté royale telle qu'il n'y en avait eu aucune avant lui en Israël.
And Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him royal majesty such as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
26 David, fils d'Isaï, régna sur tout Israël.
Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
27 Le temps qu'il régna sur Israël fut de quarante ans; il régna sept ans à Hébron, et il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.
And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
28 Il mourut dans une belle vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesses et de gloire; et Salomon, son fils, régna à sa place.
And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour; and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
29 Les actes du roi David, les premiers et les derniers, sont écrits dans l'histoire de Samuel le voyant, dans l'histoire de Nathan le prophète, et dans l'histoire de Gad le voyant,
And the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer;
30 avec tout son règne et sa puissance, et les événements qui l'ont impliqué, lui, Israël, et tous les royaumes des pays.
with all his reign and his might, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
