1 David et les chefs de l'armée mirent à part pour le service certains des fils d'Asaph, d'Héman et de Jeduthun, qui devaient prophétiser avec des harpes, des instruments à cordes et des cymbales. Le nombre de ceux qui firent l'ouvrage selon leur service fut:

Moreover David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals. And the number of those who did the work according to their service was:

2 des fils d'Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, et Asharelah. Les fils d'Asaph étaient sous la direction d'Asaph, qui prophétisait sur l'ordre du roi.

of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king.

3 De Jeduthun, les fils de Jeduthun: Guedalia, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah et Mattithiah, au nombre de six, sous la main de leur père Jeduthun, qui prophétisa en rendant grâces et en louant Yahvé avec la harpe.

Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Jehovah.

4 Fils d'Héman: Bukkia, Matthania, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Eliatha, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir et Mahazioth.

Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

5 Tous ceux-là étaient les fils d'Héman, le voyant du roi, pour prononcer les paroles de Dieu, pour élever la corne. Dieu donna à Héman quatorze fils et trois filles.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 Tous ceux-là étaient sous les mains de leur père pour chanter dans la maison de l'Éternel, avec des cymbales, des instruments à cordes et des harpes, pour le service de la maison de Dieu: Asaph, Jeduthun et Héman étaient sous l'ordre du roi.

All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

7 Ils étaient au nombre de deux cent quatre-vingt-huit, avec leurs frères instruits dans le chant de l'Éternel, tous ceux qui étaient habiles.

And the number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to Jehovah, even all who were skilful, was two hundred eighty-eight.

8 Ils tirèrent au sort leurs fonctions, tous pareils, le petit comme le grand, le maître comme l'élève.

And they cast lots for their offices, all alike, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

9 Le premier lot échut à Asaph, Joseph; le second à Guedalia, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph, the second to Gedaliah (he and his brothers and sons were twelve),

10 le troisième à Zaccur, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

11 le quatrième à Izri, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

12 le cinquième à Nethania, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

13 le sixième à Bukkiah, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

14 le septième à Jesharela, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze

the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

15 le huitième, à Jeshaiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

16 le neuvième, à Mattaniah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

17 le dixième, à Shimei, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

18 le onzième, à Azarel, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

19 le douzième, à Hashabiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

20 pour le treizième, à Shubael, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

21 le quatorzième, à Mattithiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

22 le quinzième, à Jeremoth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

23 le seizième, à Hanania, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

24 le dix-septième, à Joshbekashah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

25 le dix-huitième, à Hanani, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

26 le dix-neuvième, à Mallothi, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

27 le vingtième, à Eliatha, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

28 le vingt et unième, à Hothir, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the twenty-first to Hothir, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

29 le vingt-deuxième, à Giddalti, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

30 le vingt-troisième, à Mahazioth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

for the twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

31 le vingt-quatrième, à Romamti-Ezer, ses fils et ses frères, douze.

for the twenty-fourth to Romamtiezer, his sons and his brothers, twelve.
