1 Chroniques 22
1 Et David dit: « Voici la maison de Yahvé Dieu, et voici l'autel des holocaustes pour Israël. »
And David saith, 'This is the house of Jehovah God, and this the altar for burnt-offering for Israel.'
2 David donna l'ordre de rassembler les étrangers qui se trouvaient dans le pays d'Israël, et il chargea des maçons de tailler des pierres de taille pour construire la maison de Dieu.
And David saith to gather the sojourners who [are] in the land of Israel, and appointeth hewers to hew hewn-stones to build a house of God.
3 David prépara du fer en abondance pour les clous des portes et pour les assemblages, du bronze en abondance et sans poids,
And iron in abundance for nails for leaves of the gates, and for couplings, hath David prepared, and brass in abundance — there is no weighing.
4 et des cèdres en abondance, car les Sidoniens et les habitants de Tyr avaient apporté à David des cèdres en abondance.
And cedar-trees even without number, for the Zidonians and the Tyrians brought in cedar-trees in abundance to David.
5 David dit: « Salomon, mon fils, est jeune et tendre, et la maison que l'on va bâtir pour Yahvé doit être d'une grande splendeur, renommée et glorieuse dans tous les pays. Je vais donc la préparer. » David fit donc d'abondants préparatifs avant sa mort.
And David saith, 'Solomon my son [is] a youth and tender, and the house to be built to Jehovah [is] to be made exceedingly great, for name and for beauty to all the lands; let me prepare, I pray Thee, for it;' and David prepareth in abundance before his death.
6 Puis il appela Salomon, son fils, et lui ordonna de construire une maison pour Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël.
And he calleth for Solomon his son, and chargeth him to build a house to Jehovah, God of Israel,
7 David dit à Salomon, son fils: « Quant à moi, j'avais à cœur de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, mon Dieu.
and David saith to Solomon his son, 'As for me, it hath been with my heart to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God,
8 Mais la parole de l'Éternel m'a été adressée en ces termes: « Tu as versé beaucoup de sang et tu as fait de grandes guerres. Tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, parce que tu as versé beaucoup de sang sur la terre, sous mes yeux.
and the word of Jehovah [is] against me, saying, Blood in abundance thou hast shed, and great wars thou hast made: thou dost not build a house to My name, for much blood thou hast shed to the earth before Me.
9 Voici qu'il te naîtra un fils, qui sera un homme de paix. Je lui donnerai du repos contre tous ses ennemis d'alentour, car son nom sera Salomon, et je donnerai la paix et le calme à Israël en ses jours.
'Lo, a son is born to thee; he is a man of rest, and I have given rest to him from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and peace and quietness I give unto Israel in his days;
10 Il bâtira une maison à mon nom; il sera mon fils, et je serai son père; et j'affermirai le trône de son royaume sur Israël pour toujours'.
he doth build a house to My name, and he is to Me for a son, and I [am] to him for a father, and I have established the throne of his kingdom over Israel unto the age.
11 Maintenant, mon fils, que Yahvé soit avec toi et te fasse prospérer, et que tu bâtisses la maison de Yahvé ton Dieu, comme il l'a dit à ton sujet.
'Now, my son, Jehovah is with thee, and thou hast prospered, and hast built the house of Jehovah thy God, as He spake concerning thee.
12 Que l'Éternel te donne du discernement et de l'intelligence, et qu'il te mette à la tête d'Israël, afin que tu observes la loi de l'Éternel, ton Dieu.
Only, Jehovah give to thee wisdom and understanding, and charge thee concerning Israel, even to keep the law of Jehovah thy God;
13 Tu prospéreras alors, si tu observes et mets en pratique les lois et les ordonnances que l'Éternel a données à Moïse concernant Israël. Sois fort et courageux. N'aie pas peur et ne t'effraie pas.
then thou dost prosper, if thou dost observe to do the statutes and the judgments that Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and courageous; do not fear, nor be cast down.
14 Voici, dans ma détresse, j'ai préparé pour la maison de l'Éternel cent mille talents d'or, un million de talents d'argent, du bronze et du fer sans poids, car il y en a en abondance. J'ai aussi préparé du bois et de la pierre, et tu pourras y ajouter.
'And lo, in mine affliction, I have prepared for the house of Jehovah of gold talents a hundred thousand, and of silver a thousand thousand talents; and of brass and of iron there is no weighing, for in abundance it hath been, and wood and stones I have prepared, and to them thou dost add.
15 Il y a aussi avec toi des ouvriers en abondance, des tailleurs de pierre et de bois, et toutes sortes d'hommes habiles dans toutes sortes d'ouvrages;
'And with thee in abundance [are] workmen, hewers and artificers of stone and of wood, and every skilful man for every work.
16 pour l'or, l'argent, le bronze et le fer, il n'y a pas de nombre. Lève-toi et agis, et que Yahvé soit avec toi. »
To the gold, to the silver, and to the brass, and to the iron, there is no number; arise and do, and Jehovah is with thee.'
17 David ordonna aussi à tous les princes d'Israël d'aider Salomon, son fils, en disant:
And David giveth charge to all heads of Israel to give help to Solomon his son,
18 « Yahvé, ton Dieu, n'est-il pas avec toi? Ne t'a-t-il pas donné du repos de tous côtés? Car il a livré entre mes mains les habitants du pays, et le pays est soumis à Yahvé et à son peuple.
'Is not Jehovah your God with you? yea, He hath given rest to you round about, for He hath given into my hand the inhabitants of the land, and subdued hath been the land before His people.
19 Maintenant, mets ton cœur et ton âme à la suite de l'Éternel, ton Dieu. Lève-toi donc, et bâtis le sanctuaire de Yahvé Dieu, pour faire entrer l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé et les vases sacrés de Dieu dans la maison qui doit être bâtie au nom de Yahvé. »
'Now, give your heart and your soul to seek to Jehovah your God, and rise and build the sanctuary of Jehovah God, to bring in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and the holy vessels of God, to the house that is built to the name of Jehovah.'
