1 Chroniques 16
1 Ils firent entrer l'arche de Dieu et la placèrent au milieu de la tente que David avait dressée pour elle, et ils offrirent devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices de prospérité.
And they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before God.
2 Lorsque David eut achevé d'offrir les holocaustes et les sacrifices de prospérité, il bénit le peuple au nom de l'Éternel.
And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
3 Il donna à tous ceux d'Israël, hommes et femmes, un pain, une portion de viande et un gâteau de raisins secs.
And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a cake made in a pan, and a sweet cake.
4 Il désigna quelques-uns des Lévites pour faire le service devant l'arche de l'Éternel, pour commémorer, remercier et louer l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël:
And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to celebrate and to thank and praise the LORD, the God of Israel:
5 Asaph, le chef, et après lui Zacharie, puis Jeïel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithia, Éliab, Benaja, Obed-Édom et Jeïel, avec des instruments à cordes et des harpes; Asaph, avec des cymbales, en sonnant à haute voix;
Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;
6 et les sacrificateurs Benaja et Jahaziel, avec des trompettes, toujours devant l'arche de l'alliance de Dieu.
and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 Et en ce jour-là, David ordonna pour la première fois de rendre grâce à Yahvé par l'intermédiaire d'Asaph et de ses frères.
Then on that day did David first ordain to give thanks unto the LORD, by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8 Oh! Rendez grâce à Yahvé. Invoquez son nom. Faites connaître ce qu'il a fait parmi les peuples.
O give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name; make known His doings among the peoples.
9 Chantez pour lui. Chantez-lui des louanges. Racontez toutes ses œuvres merveilleuses.
Sing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; speak ye of all His marvellous works.
10 Gloire à son saint nom. Que le cœur de ceux qui cherchent Yahvé se réjouisse.
Glory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
11 Cherchez Yahvé et sa force. Cherchez son visage pour toujours.
Seek ye the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.
12 Souvenez-vous des merveilles qu'il a faites, ses merveilles, et les jugements de sa bouche,
Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;
13 vous, progéniture d'Israël, son serviteur, vous, enfants de Jacob, ses élus.
O ye seed of Israel His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
14 Il est Yahvé, notre Dieu. Ses jugements sont dans toute la terre.
He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Souviens-toi de son alliance pour toujours, la parole qu'il a commandée à mille générations,
Remember His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations;
16 l'alliance qu'il a conclue avec Abraham, son serment à Isaac.
The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac;
17 Il le confirma à Jacob comme une loi, et à Israël pour une alliance éternelle,
And He established it unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant;
18 en disant: « Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan, Le lot de votre héritage, »
Saying: 'Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.'
19 quand vous n'étiez qu'un petit nombre d'hommes, oui, très peu, et des étrangers en son sein.
When ye were but a few men in number, yea, very few, and sojourners in it,
20 Ils allaient de nation en nation, d'un royaume à un autre peuple.
And when they went about from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,
21 Il n'a permis à personne de leur faire du tort. Oui, il a réprimandé les rois pour leur bien,
He suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings:
22 « Ne touchez pas à mes oints! Ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes! »
'Touch not Mine anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.'
23 Chantez à Yahvé, toute la terre! Afficher son salut au jour le jour.
Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; proclaim His salvation from day to day.
24 Déclarez sa gloire parmi les nations, et ses merveilles parmi tous les peuples.
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples.
25 Car Yahvé est grand et digne de louange. Il doit également être craint par-dessus tous les dieux.
For great is the LORD, and highly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods.
26 Car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles, mais Yahvé a fait les cieux.
For all the gods of the peoples are things of nought; but the LORD made the heavens.
27 L'honneur et la majesté sont devant lui. La force et la joie sont à sa place.
Honour and majesty are before Him; strength and gladness are in His place.
28 Rendez hommage à Yahvé, vous, familles des peuples, attribue à Yahvé la gloire et la force!
Ascribe unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the peoples, ascribe unto the LORD glory and strength.
29 Rendez à Yahvé la gloire due à son nom. Apportez une offrande, et venez devant lui. Adorez Yahvé dans une tenue sacrée.
Ascribe unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; bring an offering, and come before Him; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
30 Tremblez devant lui, toute la terre! Le monde est également établi qu'il ne peut pas être déplacé.
Tremble before Him, all the earth; the world also is established that it cannot be moved.
31 Que les cieux se réjouissent! et que la terre se réjouisse! Qu'ils disent parmi les nations: « Yahvé règne! »
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; and let them say among the nations: 'The LORD reigneth.'
32 Que la mer rugisse, et sa plénitude! Que le champ exulte, et tout ce qu'il contient!
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; let the field exult, and all that is therein;
33 Alors les arbres de la forêt chanteront de joie devant Yahvé, car il vient pour juger la terre.
Then shall the trees of the wood sing for joy, before the LORD, for He is come to judge the earth.
34 Oh! Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car sa bonté est éternelle.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.
35 Dis: « Sauve-nous, Dieu de notre salut! Rassemblez-nous et délivrez-nous des nations, pour rendre grâce à ton saint nom, pour triompher dans ta louange. »
And say ye: 'Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks unto Thy holy name, that we may triumph in Thy praise.'
36 Béni soit Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, de l'éternité à l'éternité. Tout le peuple dit: « Amen » et loua Yahvé.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said: 'Amen,' and praised the LORD.
37 Il laissa là Asaph et ses frères devant l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé, pour qu'ils fassent le service devant l'arche continuellement, selon le travail de chaque jour;
So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required;
38 et Obed-Edom avec leurs soixante-huit parents; Obed-Edom aussi, fils de Jeduthun, et Hosah pour être portiers;
and Obed-edom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jedithun and Hosah to be door-keepers;
39 et le sacrificateur Zadok et ses frères les sacrificateurs, devant la tente de Yahvé, dans le haut lieu qui était à Gabaon,
and Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
40 pour offrir des holocaustes à Yahvé sur l'autel des holocaustes, continuellement, matin et soir, selon tout ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Yahvé, qu'il a prescrite à Israël;
to offer burnt-offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of burnt-offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the Law of the LORD, which He commanded unto Israel;
41 Avec eux, Héman et Jeduthun, et les autres élus nommément désignés, pour rendre grâces à l'Éternel, parce que sa miséricorde dure à toujours.
and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because His mercy endureth for ever;
42 Avec eux, Héman et Jeduthun, avec des trompettes et des cymbales pour ceux qui doivent sonner à haute voix, et avec des instruments pour les chants de Dieu, et les fils de Jeduthun pour être à la porte.
and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals, and with instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.
43 Tout le peuple partit, chacun dans sa maison, et David s'en retourna pour bénir sa maison.
And all the people departed every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.
