Sakarjan 3

1 Ja hän näytti minulle ylimmäisen papin Joosuan seisomassa Herran enkelin edessä ja saatanan seisomassa hänen oikealla puolellaan, häntä syyttämässä.

And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and the accuser standing at his right hand to accuse him.

2 Ja Herra sanoi saatanalle: "Herra nuhdelkoon sinua, saatana. Nuhdelkoon sinua Herra, joka on valinnut Jerusalemin. Eikö tämä ole kekäle, joka on tulesta temmattu?"

And the Lord said unto the accuser, The Lord rebuke thee, O Accuser; yea, the Lord rebuke thee that hath chosen Jerusalem: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

3 Ja Joosua oli puettu saastaisiin vaatteisiin, ja hän seisoi enkelin edessä.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel.

4 Niin tämä lausui ja sanoi näin niille, jotka seisoivat hänen edessänsä: "Riisukaa pois saastaiset vaatteet hänen yltänsä". Ja hän sanoi hänelle: "Katso, minä olen ottanut sinulta pois pahat tekosi, ja minä puetan sinut juhlavaatteisiin".

And he commenced and said unto those that stood before him, saying; Take away the filthy garments from him. And he said unto him, Behold, I have caused thy iniquity to pass from off thee, and I clothe thee with festive garments.

5 Minä sanoin: "Pantakoon puhdas käärelakki hänen päähänsä". Niin he panivat puhtaan käärelakin hänen päähänsä ja pukivat hänet vaatteisiin. Ja Herran enkeli seisoi siinä.

And I said, Let them place a clean mitre upon his head. So they placed the clean mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments; rind the angel of the Lord stood by.

6 Ja Herran enkeli todisti Joosualle sanoen:

And the angel of the Lord forewarned Joshua, saying,

7 "Näin sanoo Herra Sebaot: Jos sinä vaellat minun teilläni ja hoidat minun säätämäni tehtävät, saat sinä myös tuomita minun huonettani ja vartioida minun esikartanoitani, ja minä annan sinulle pääsyn näiden joukkoon, jotka tässä seisovat.

Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then shalt thou also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

8 Kuule, Joosua, ylimmäinen pappi, sinä ja sinun ystäväsi, jotka edessäsi istuvat. Sillä ennusmerkin miehiä he ovat; sillä katso, minä annan tulla palvelijani, Vesan.

Do but hear, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee; for distinguished men are they; for, behold, I will bring my servant Zemach [[the Sprout]].

9 Sillä katso: kivi, jonka minä olen asettanut Joosuan eteen-siihen yhteen kiveen päin on seitsemän silmää! Katso, minä kaiverran kaiverrukset siihen, sanoo Herra Sebaot, ja otan pois tämän maan pahat teot yhtenä päivänä.

For behold [here is] the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave thereon its inscription, saith the Lord of hosts, And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

10 Sinä päivänä te kutsutte, kukin ystävänsä, viinipuun ja viikunapuun alle."

On that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man to his neighbor under the vine and under the fig-tree.
