Psalmien 87

1 Koorahilaisten virsi, laulu. Pyhille vuorille perustamaansa kaupunkia,

A Psalm of the sons of Korah; a Song. His foundation is in the holy mountains.

2 Siionin portteja, Herra rakastaa enemmän kuin Jaakobin kaikkia muita asuinsijoja.

The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 On kunniakasta, mitä sinusta sanotaan, sinä Jumalan kaupunki: (Sela)

Glorious things are spoken of Thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 "Minä mainitsen tunnustajikseni Rahabin ja Baabelin; katso, Filisteasta, Tyyrosta ja Etiopiasta minä mainitsen: Sekin on syntynyt siellä."

'I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know Me; behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this one was born there.'

5 Mutta Siionista sanotaan: "Joka-ainoa on syntynyt siellä". Sitä Korkein itse vahvana pitää.

But of Zion it shall be said: 'This man and that was born in her; and the Most High Himself doth establish her.'

6 Herra luettelee, kirjoittaessaan kirjaan kansat: "Tämäkin on syntynyt siellä". (Sela)

The LORD shall count in the register of the peoples: 'This one was born there.' (Selah)

7 Veisaten, karkeloiden sanotaan: "Kaikki minun lähteeni ovat sinussa".

And whether they sing or dance, all my thoughts are in Thee.
