Psalmien 72
1 Salomon virsi. Jumala, anna kuninkaan tuomita, niinkuin sinä tuomitset, anna vanhurskautesi kuninkaan pojalle.
A Psalme of Salomon. Give thy iudgements to the King, O God, and thy righteousnesse to the Kings sonne.
2 Tuomitkoon hän sinun kansaasi vanhurskaasti ja sinun kurjiasi oikeuden mukaan.
Then shall he iudge thy people in righteousnesse, and thy poore with equitie.
3 Vuoret kantakoot rauhaa kansalle, niin myös kukkulat, vanhurskauden voimasta.
The mountaines and the hilles shall bring peace to the people by iustice.
4 Auttakoon hän kansan kurjat oikeuteen, pelastakoon köyhäin lapset ja musertakoon sortajan.
He shall iudge the poore of the people: he shall saue the children of the needie, and shall subdue the oppressor.
5 Niin he pelkäävät sinua, niin kauan kuin aurinko paistaa ja kuu kumottaa, polvesta polveen.
They shall feare thee as long as the sunne and moone endureth, from generatio to generation.
6 Hän olkoon niinkuin sade, joka nurmikolle vuotaa, niinkuin sadekuuro, joka kostuttaa maan.
He shall come downe like the rayne vpon the mowen grasse, and as the showres that water the earth.
7 Hänen päivinänsä vanhurskas kukoistaa, ja rauha on oleva runsas siihen saakka, kunnes kuuta ei enää ole.
In his dayes shall the righteous florish, and abundance of peace shalbe so long as the moone endureth.
8 Hallitkoon hän merestä mereen ja Eufrat-virrasta maan ääriin saakka.
His dominion shall be also from sea to sea, and from the Riuer vnto the endes of the land.
9 Hänen edessänsä erämaan asujat polvistuvat, ja hänen vihollisensa nuolevat tomua.
They that dwell in ye wildernes, shall kneele before him, and his enemies shall licke the dust.
10 Tarsiin ja saarten kuninkaat tuovat lahjoja, Saban ja Seban kuninkaat veroa maksavat.
The Kings of Tarshish and of the yles shall bring presents: the Kings of Sheba and Seba shall bring giftes.
11 Häntä kumartavat kaikki kuninkaat, kaikki kansakunnat palvelevat häntä.
Yea, all Kings shall worship him: all nations shall serue him.
12 Sillä hän pelastaa köyhän, joka apua huutaa, kurjan ja sen, jolla ei auttajaa ole.
For he shall deliuer the poore when he cryeth: the needie also, and him that hath no helper.
13 Hän armahtaa vaivaista ja köyhää ja pelastaa köyhäin sielun.
He shalbe mercifull to the poore and needie, and shall preserue the soules of the poore.
14 Hän lunastaa heidän sielunsa sorrosta ja väkivallasta, ja heidän verensä on hänen silmissään kallis.
He shall redeeme their soules from deceite and violence, and deare shall their blood be in his sight.
15 Hän eläköön, ja hänelle tuotakoon Saban kultaa; hänen puolestansa rukoiltakoon alati, ja siunattakoon häntä lakkaamatta.
Yea, he shall liue, and vnto him shall they giue of the golde of Sheba: they shall also pray for him continually, and dayly blesse him.
16 Maa kasvakoon runsaasti viljaa, vuorten huippuja myöten, sen hedelmä huojukoon niinkuin Libanon; ja kansaa nouskoon kaupungeista niinkuin kasveja maasta.
An handfull of corne shall be sowen in the earth, euen in the toppe of the mountaines, and the fruite thereof shall shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall florish out of the citie like the grasse of the earth.
17 Pysyköön hänen nimensä iankaikkisesti, ja versokoon hänen nimensä, niin kauan kuin aurinko paistaa. Hänessä he itseänsä siunatkoot, ja kaikki kansakunnat ylistäkööt häntä onnelliseksi.
His name shall be for euer: his name shall indure as long as the sunne: all nations shall blesse him, and be blessed in him.
18 Kiitetty olkoon Herra Jumala, Israelin Jumala, ainoa, joka ihmeitä tekee.
Blessed be the Lord God, euen the God of Israel, which onely doeth wonderous things.
19 Kiitetty olkoon hänen kunniansa nimi iankaikkisesti, ja kaikki maa olkoon täynnä hänen kunniaansa. Amen, amen.
And blessed be his glorious Name for euer: and let all the earth be filled with his glorie. So be it, euen so be it.
