Psalmien 7
1 Daavidin virsi, jonka hän veisasi Herralle benjaminilaisen Kuusin sanojen johdosta. Herra, minun Jumalani, sinuun minä turvaan; pelasta minut kaikista vainoojistani ja vapahda minut,
“A Shiggayon of David, which he sang unto the Lord, concerning the affairs of Cush the Benjamite.” O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust; save me from every one of my persecutors, and deliver me:
2 etteivät he raatelisi minua niinkuin leijona ja tempaisi pois-eikä pelastajaa olisi.
Lest he tear like a lion my soul, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
3 Herra, minun Jumalani, jos minä näin olen tehnyt, jos vääryys minun käsiäni tahraa,
O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be injustice in my hands;
4 jos olen tehnyt pahaa niille, jotka elivät rauhassa minun kanssani, tai jos olen ryöstänyt niiltä, jotka syyttä minua ahdistivat,
If I have recompensed him that was at peace with me with evil; If I have taken aught from my assailants without cause:
5 niin vainotkoon vihollinen minun henkeäni, saakoon minut kiinni ja polkekoon maahan minun elämäni ja painakoon minun kunniani tomuun. (Sela)
May the enemy hotly pursue my soul, and overtake it; and tread down upon the earth my life, and cause my honor to be in the dust. (Selah)
6 Nouse, Herra, vihassasi. Kohoa minun vastustajaini raivoa vastaan ja heräjä avukseni sinä, joka sääsit tuomion.
Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me [to] the judgment that thou hast commanded.
7 Ympäröikööt sinua kansojen joukot, ja palaja heidän ylitsensä korkeuteen.
So shall the congregation of nations compass thee about: and for their sakes return thou to the height.
8 Herra tuomitsee kansat; auta minut oikeuteeni, Herra, minun vanhurskauteni ja viattomuuteni mukaan.
The Lord will judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity [grant] me [recompense].
9 Loppukoon jumalattomain pahuus, ja vahvista vanhurskaita. Sillä sinä, joka tutkit sydämet ja munaskuut, olet vanhurskas Jumala.
Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just, O thou, who triest the hearts and reins, O righteous God.
10 Minun kilpenäni on Jumala; hän on oikeamielisten pelastaja.
My protection is by God, who saveth the upright in heath.
11 Jumala on vanhurskas tuomari ja Jumala, joka vihastuu joka päivä.
God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant [with the wicked] every day.
12 Jos kääntymystä ei tule, niin hän teroittaa miekkansa, jännittää jousensa ja tähtää sillä;
If he turn not, He will whet his sword, he bendeth his bow, and maketh it ready.
13 hän valmistaa surma-aseet ja tekee nuolensa palaviksi.
Also for him he prepareth the instruments of death; he fashioneth his arrows against the persecutors.
14 Katso, tuo hautoo turmiota, kantaa tuhoa kohdussaan, mutta hän synnyttää pettymyksen.
Behold, he travaileth with wrong doing; but he hath conceived mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.
15 Hän kaivoi haudan ja koversi sen, mutta itse hän kaatuu tekemäänsä kuoppaan.
He hath hollowed out a pit, and dug it, and is fallen into the ditch which he hath wrought.
16 Hänen turmionhankkeensa kääntyy hänen omaan päähänsä, ja hänen vääryytensä lankeaa hänen päälaelleen.
His mischief will return upon his own head, and upon his own skull will his violence come down.
17 Minä kiitän Herraa hänen vanhurskaudestansa ja veisaan Herran, Korkeimman, nimen kiitosta.
I will thank the Lord according to his righteousness; and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord the Most High.
