Psalmien 62
1 Veisuunjohtajalle; Jedutunin tapaan; Daavidin virsi. Jumalaa yksin minun sieluni hiljaisuudessa odottaa, häneltä tulee minulle apu.
“For the leader of the music of the Jeduthunites, A psalm of David.” Truly my soul resteth on God alone; From him cometh my deliverance!
2 Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä suuresti horju.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my safeguard, I shall not wholly fall!
3 Kuinka kauan te yhtä miestä ahdistatte, hänet yhdessä surmataksenne, niinkuin hän olisi kaatuva seinä, niinkuin murrettu muuri?
How long will ye continue to assault a single man? How long will ye all seek to destroy me, Like a bending wall, or a tottering fence?
4 He vain pitävät neuvoa, miten syöstä hänet korkeudestaan. He rakastavat valhetta, he siunaavat suullansa ja kiroavat sydämessänsä. (Sela)
They study how to cast me down from my eminence; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse.
5 Odota yksin Jumalaa hiljaisuudessa, minun sieluni, sillä häneltä tulee minun toivoni.
My soul, rest thou on God alone, For from him cometh my hope!
6 Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä horju.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my safeguard, —I shall not fall.
7 Jumalassa on minun apuni ja kunniani. Minun väkevyyteni kallio, minun turvani on Jumala.
From God cometh my help and my glory: My strong rock, my refuge, is God.
8 Turvatkaa häneen joka aika, te kansa; vuodattakaa hänen eteensä sydämenne. Jumala on meidän turvamme. (Sela)
Trust in him at all times, ye people! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our refuge!
9 Vain tuulen henkäystä ovat ihmiset, vain valhetta ihmisten lapset: kaikki he nousevat vaa'assa ylös köykäisempinä kuin tuulenhenkäys.
Truly men of low degree are vanity, And men of high degree are a lie; Placed in the balance, They are all lighter than vanity.
10 Älkää luottako väkivaltaan, älkää turhaan panko toivoanne ryöstettyyn tavaraan. Jos rikkautta karttuu, älkää siihen sydäntänne kiinnittäkö.
Trust not in extortion; Place no vain hopes in rapine! If riches increase, set not your heart upon them!
11 Kerran on Jumala sanonut, kahdesti olen sen kuullut: väkevyys on Jumalan.
Once hath God promised, twice have I heard it, That power belongeth unto God.
12 Ja sinun, Herra, on armo; sillä sinä maksat kullekin hänen tekojensa mukaan.
To thee also, O Lord! belongeth mercy; For thou dost render to every man according to his work!
