Psalmien 59
1 Veisuunjohtajalle; veisataan kuin: "Älä turmele"; Daavidin laulu, kun Saul lähetti vartioimaan hänen taloansa, tappaakseen hänet. Jumalani, pelasta minut vihollisistani, suojele minua niiltä, jotka nousevat minua vastaan.
Unto the end. May you not destroy. Of David, with the inscription of a title, when Saul sent and watched his house, in order to execute him. Rescue me from my enemies, my God, and free me from those who rise up against me.
2 Pelasta minut pahantekijöistä, vapahda minut murhamiehistä.
Rescue me from those who work iniquity, and save me from men of blood.
3 Sillä katso, he väijyvät minun henkeäni; julmurit kokoontuvat minua vastaan, vaikka en ole rikkonut enkä syntiä tehnyt, Herra.
For behold, they have seized my soul. The strong have rushed upon me.
4 Ilman minun syytäni he juoksevat ja hankkiutuvat; heräjä, käy minua kohtaamaan ja katso.
And it is neither my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord. I have run and gone directly, without iniquity.

Rise up to meet me, and see: even you, O Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel. Reach out to visit all nations. Do not take pity on all those who work iniquity.
6 He tulevat ehtoolla, ulvovat kuin koirat ja kiertävät kaupunkia.
They will return toward evening, and they will suffer hunger like dogs, and they will wander around the city.
7 Katso, he purkavat suustaan sisuansa, miekat ovat heidän huulillansa, sillä: "Kuka sen kuulee?"
Behold, they will speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips: “For who has heard us?”
8 Mutta sinä, Herra, naurat heille, sinä pidät kaikkia pakanoita pilkkanasi.
And you, O Lord, will laugh at them. You will lead all the Gentiles to nothing.
9 Sinä, minun väkevyyteni, sinusta minä otan vaarin, sillä Jumala on minun linnani.
I will guard my strength toward you, for you are God, my supporter.
10 Minun armollinen Jumalani käy minua kohden, Jumala antaa minun nähdä iloni vihollisistani.
My God, his mercy will precede me.
11 Älä heitä tapa, ettei minun kansani sitä unhottaisi. Saata voimallasi heidät harhailemaan ja syökse heidät maahan, Herra, meidän kilpemme.
God will oversee my enemies for me. Do not slay them, lest at times my people may forget them. Scatter them by your virtue. And depose them, O Lord, my protector,

They will return toward evening, and they will suffer hunger like dogs, and they will wander around the city.
15 He harhailevat ruuan haussa; elleivät tule ravituiksi, he murisevat.
They will be dispersed in order to gnaw, and truly, when they will not have been satisfied, they will murmur.
16 Mutta minä veisaan sinun väkevyydestäsi ja riemuitsen aamulla sinun armostasi, sillä sinä olet minun linnani ja pakopaikkani minun hätäni päivänä.
But I will sing your strength, and I will extol your mercy, in the morning. For you have been my supporter and my refuge in the day of my tribulation.
17 Sinä, minun väkevyyteni, sinulle minä veisaan kiitosta, sillä Jumala on minun linnani ja minun armollinen Jumalani.
To you, my helper, I will sing psalms. For you are God, my supporter. My God is my mercy.
