Psalmien 47

1 Veisuunjohtajalle; koorahilaisten virsi. Paukuttakaa käsiänne, kaikki kansat, kohottakaa Jumalalle riemuhuuto.

“For the leader of the music. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” O clap your hands, all ye nations! Shout unto God with the voice of triumph!

2 Sillä Herra on korkein, peljättävä, kaiken maan suuri kuningas.

For terrible is Jehovah, the Most High, The great king over all the earth.

3 Hän kukistaa kansat meidän allemme ja kansakunnat jalkaimme alle.

He hath subdued nations under us, And kingdoms under our feet;

4 Hän on valinnut meille perintömaamme, joka on Jaakobin, hänen rakkaansa, kunnia. (Sela)

He hath chosen for us an inheritance, The glory of Jacob, whom he loved. (Pause)

5 Jumala astuu ylös riemun raikuessa, Herra pasunain pauhatessa.

God goeth up with a shout; Jehovah with the sound of the trumpet.

6 Veisatkaa Jumalalle, veisatkaa, veisatkaa meidän kuninkaallemme, veisatkaa.

Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our king, sing praises!

7 Sillä Jumala on kaiken maan kuningas. Veisatkaa hänelle virsi.

For God is king of all the earth; Sing to him hymns of praise!

8 Jumala on kansojen kuningas, Jumala istuu pyhällä istuimellansa.

God reigneth over the nations; God sitteth upon his holy throne.

9 Kansojen päämiehet kokoontuvat Aabrahamin Jumalan kansaksi. Sillä maan kilvet ovat Jumalan; hän on ylen korkea.

The princes of the nations gather themselves together To the people of the God of Abraham; For the mighty of the earth belong to God; He is supremely exalted.
