Psalmien 28
1 Daavidin virsi. Sinua, Herra, minä huudan; minun kallioni, älä ole minua kohtaan äänetön, etten minä, kun sinä vaiti olet, joutuisi niiden kaltaiseksi, jotka ovat hautaan vaipuneet.
Yahweh, I call out to you; [you are like an overhanging] rock [under which I can hide]. Do not refuse to answer me, because if you are silent, I will soon be with those who are in their graves.
2 Kuule minun rukousteni ääni, kun minä sinua avuksi huudan, kun minä käteni nostan sinun kaikkeinpyhintäsi kohti.
Listen to me when I call out for you [to help me], when I pray, lifting up my hands as I face your sacred temple.
3 Älä tempaa minua pois jumalattomien kanssa, älä väärintekijäin kanssa, jotka puhuvat lähimmäisilleen rauhan puheita, vaikka heidän sydämessään on pahuus.
Do not drag me away with wicked people, with those who do wicked deeds, with those who pretend [to act] peacefully toward others while in their inner beings, they hate them.
4 Anna heille heidän työnsä mukaan ja heidän tekojensa pahuuden mukaan; anna heille heidän kättensä tekojen mukaan, kosta heille, mitä he ovat tehneet.
Punish those people in the way that they deserve for what they have done; punish them for their evil deeds [DOU].
5 Sillä eivät he ota vaaria Herran töistä eivätkä hänen kättensä teoista. Hän kukistakoon heidät, älköönkä heitä rakentako.
Yahweh, they do not pay attention to the [wonderful] things that you have done and that you have created; so get rid of them permanently and do not let them appear again!
6 Kiitetty olkoon Herra, sillä hän on kuullut minun rukousteni äänen.
Praise Yahweh because he has heard me when I called out for him to help me!
7 Herra on minun voimani ja kilpeni; häneen minun sydämeni turvasi, ja minä sain avun. Siitä minun sydämeni riemuitsee, ja veisuullani minä häntä ylistän.
Yahweh makes me strong and [protects] me [like a shield] [MET]; I trusted in him, and he helped me. I was glad, and from my inner being I praised him as I sang to him.
8 Herra on kansansa väkevyys, hän on voideltunsa pelastus ja turva.
Yahweh causes us to be strong and protects us; and he saves me, the one he appointed [MTY] to be king.
9 Pelasta kansasi ja siunaa perikuntasi; kaitse heitä ja kanna heitä iankaikkisesti.
Yahweh, save/rescue your people; bless those who belong to you. [Take care of them like] a shepherd [takes care of his sheep] [MET]; take care of them forever.
