Psalmien 19
1 Veisuunjohtajalle; Daavidin virsi. Taivaat julistavat Jumalan kunniaa, taivaanvahvuus ilmoittaa hänen kättensä tekoja.
The heavens declare the kavod ·weighty glory· of God. The expanse shows his handiwork.
2 Päivä sanoo päivälle, ja yö ilmoittaa yölle.
Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge.
3 Se ei ole puhetta, se ei ole kieltä, jonka ääni ei kuuluisi.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not sh'ma ·heard obeyed·.
4 Niiden mittanuora ulottuu yli kaiken maan ja niiden sanat maanpiirin ääriin. Auringolle hän on tehnyt niihin majan.
Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,

which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.

His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends; There is nothing hidden from its heat.
7 Herran laki on täydellinen; se virvoittaa sielun. Herran todistus on vahva, se tekee tyhmästä viisaan.
Adonai’s Torah ·Teaching· is perfect, restoring the soul. Adonai’s testimony is sure, making wise the simple.
8 Herran asetukset ovat oikeat, ne ilahuttavat sydämen. Herran käskyt ovat selkeät, ne valaisevat silmät.
Adonai’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Adonai’s mitzvah ·instruction· is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 Herran pelko on puhdas, se pysyy iäti. Herran oikeudet ovat todet, kaikki tyynni vanhurskaat.
The fear of Adonai is clean, enduring forever. Adonai’s judgments are true, and upright altogether.
10 Ne ovat kalliimmat kultaa, puhtaan kullan paljoutta, makeammat hunajaa ja mehiläisen mettä.
More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.
11 Myös sinun palvelijasi ottaa niistä vaarin, niiden noudattamisesta on suuri palkka.
Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward.
12 Erhetykset kuka ymmärtää? Anna anteeksi minun salaiset syntini.
Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.
13 Myös varjele palvelijasi julkeilta, älä anna heidän minua hallita. Niin minä pysyn nuhteetonna ja olen paljosta synnistä puhdas.
Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright. I will be blameless and innocent of great rebellious breach of relationship.
14 Kelvatkoot sinulle minun suuni sanat ja minun sydämeni ajatukset sinun edessäsi, Herra, minun kallioni ja lunastajani.
Let the words of my mouth and the higgayon (meditation) of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Adonai, my rock, and my redeemer.
