Psalmien 146

1 Halleluja! Ylistä, minun sieluni, Herraa.

Praise JAH. Praise YHWH, my soul.

2 Minä ylistän Herraa kaiken ikäni, veisaan kiitosta Jumalalleni, niin kauan kuin elän.

While I live, I will praise YHWH. I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.

3 Älkää luottako ruhtinaihin älkääkä ihmislapseen, sillä ei hän voi auttaa.

Do not put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.

4 Kun hänen henkensä lähtee hänestä, niin hän tulee maaksi jälleen; sinä päivänä hänen hankkeensa raukeavat tyhjiin.

His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.

5 Autuas se, jonka apuna on Jaakobin Jumala, se, joka panee toivonsa Herraan, Jumalaansa,

Blessed is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in YHWH his God,

6 häneen, joka on tehnyt taivaan ja maan, meren ja kaiken, mitä niissä on, joka pysyy uskollisena iankaikkisesti,

who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

7 joka hankkii oikeuden sorretuille, joka antaa leivän nälkäisille. Herra vapauttaa vangitut,

who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. YHWH frees the prisoners.

8 Herra avaa sokeain silmät, Herra nostaa alaspainetut, Herra rakastaa vanhurskaita.

YHWH opens the eyes of the blind. YHWH raises up those who are bowed down. YHWH loves the righteous.

9 Herra varjelee muukalaiset, holhoo orvot ja lesket, mutta jumalattomain tien hän tekee mutkaiseksi.

YHWH preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 Herra on kuningas iankaikkisesti, sinun Jumalasi, Siion, polvesta polveen. Halleluja!

YHWH will reign forever; your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise JAH.
