Psalmien 116
1 Minä rakastan Herraa, sillä hän kuulee minun ääneni ja rukoukseni;
I love Yahweh—because he heareth my voice, my supplications;
2 sillä hän on kallistanut korvansa minun puoleeni, ja minä huudan häntä avuksi kaiken elinaikani.
Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call.
3 Kuoleman paulat piirittivät minut, tuonelan ahdistukset kohtasivat minua; minä jouduin hätään ja murheeseen. (Sheol h7585)
The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; (Sheol h7585)
4 Mutta minä huusin avukseni Herran nimeä: "Oi Herra, pelasta minun sieluni!"
But, on the Name of Yahweh, I called—I beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul.
5 Herra on armollinen ja vanhurskas, meidän Jumalamme on laupias.
Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion.
6 Herra varjelee yksinkertaiset; minä olin viheliäinen, mutta hän auttoi minua.
Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation.
7 Palaja, sieluni, takaisin lepoosi, sillä Herra on tehnyt sinulle hyvin.
Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Sillä sinä olet pelastanut minun sieluni kuolemasta, minun silmäni kyynelistä, jalkani kompastumasta.
For thou hast rescued my soul from death, —mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 Minä saan vaeltaa Herran kasvojen edessä elävien maassa.
I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life.
10 Minä uskon, sentähden minä puhun, minä, joka olin kovin vaivattu.
I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed.
11 Minä sanoin hädässäni: "Kaikki ihmiset ovat valhettelijoita".
I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
12 Kuinka minä maksan Herralle kaikki hänen hyvät tekonsa minua kohtaan?
How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me?
13 Minä kohotan pelastuksen maljan ja huudan avukseni Herran nimeä.
The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
14 Minä täytän lupaukseni Herralle kaiken hänen kansansa edessä.
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people!
15 Kallis on Herran silmissä hänen hurskaittensa kuolema.
Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness.
16 Oi Herra, minä olen sinun palvelijasi, sinun palvelijasi minä olen, sinun palvelijattaresi poika! Sinä päästit minun siteeni.
I beseech thee, O Yahweh—for, I, am thy servant, —I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds.
17 Sinulle minä uhraan kiitosuhrin ja huudan avukseni Herran nimeä.
To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
18 Minä täytän lupaukseni Herralle kaiken hänen kansansa edessä
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; —
19 Herran huoneen esikartanoissa, sinun keskelläsi, Jerusalem. Halleluja!
In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
