Psalmien 112

1 Halleluja! Autuas se mies, joka Herraa pelkää ja suuresti halajaa hänen käskyjänsä!

Hallelujah! Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 Hänen jälkeläisensä tulevat voimallisiksi maassa, oikeamielisten suku tulee siunatuksi.

His seed shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Varallisuus ja rikkaus on hänen huoneessansa, ja hänen vanhurskautensa pysyy iankaikkisesti.

Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house; and his righteousness abideth for ever.

4 Oikeamielisille koittaa pimeydessä valkeus, armollinen, laupias ja vanhurskas.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

5 Hyvin käy sen miehen, joka on laupias ja antaa lainaksi, joka hoitaa asiansa oikeuden mukaan.

It is well with the man that is gracious and lendeth; he will sustain his cause in judgment.

6 Sillä ei hän ikinä horju; vanhurskas säilyy ikuisessa muistossa.

For he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 Ei hän pelkää pahaa sanomaa, hänen sydämensä on vahva, sillä hän turvaa Herraan.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed confiding in Jehovah;

8 Hänen sydämensä on luja ja peloton, kunnes hän vihdoin ilolla katselee ahdistajiaan.

His heart is maintained, he is not afraid, until he see [his desire] upon his oppressors.

9 Hän on runsaskätinen, hän antaa köyhille, hänen vanhurskautensa pysyy iankaikkisesti, hänen sarvensa kohoaa kunniassa.

He scattereth abroad, he giveth to the needy; his righteousness abideth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 Jumalaton näkee sen ja närkästyy, hän kiristelee hampaitaan ja pakahtuu. Jumalattomien halut raukeavat tyhjiin.

The wicked [man] shall see [it] and be vexed; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
