4 Mooseksen 5

1 Ja Herra puhui Moosekselle sanoen:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 "Käske israelilaisten karkoittaa leiristä jokainen pitalinen ja jokainen vuotoa sairastava ja jokainen kuolleesta saastunut.

Command the children of Israel, that they send out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

3 Karkoittakaa sellaiset, sekä miehet että naiset, leirin ulkopuolelle, etteivät he saastuttaisi leiriään, jossa minä asun heidän keskellänsä."

Both male and female shall ye send out, to without the camp shall ye send them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.

4 Ja israelilaiset tekivät niin ja karkoittivat heidät leirin ulkopuolelle; niinkuin Herra oli puhunut Moosekselle, niin israelilaiset tekivät.

And the children of Israel did so, and they sent them out to without the camp: as the Lord had spoken unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.

5 Ja Herra puhui Moosekselle sanoen:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

6 "Puhu israelilaisille: Jos mies tai nainen tekee rikkomuksen minkä tahansa, jonka ihminen tekee menettelemällä uskottomasti Herraa kohtaan, ja niin joutuu vikapääksi,

Speak unto the children of Israel, If any man or woman commit any sin against a fellow-man, thereby doing a trespass against the Lord, and this person thus become guilty:

7 tunnustakoon hän rikkomuksensa, jonka on tehnyt, ja maksakoon velkansa täyteen määrään sekä pankoon siihen lisäksi viidennen osan sen arvosta ja antakoon sen sille, jolle hän on velkaa.

Then shall they confess their sin which they have committed; and he shall make restitution for his trespass with the principal thereof, and its fifth part shall he add thereto, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.

8 Mutta jos hänellä ei ole sukulunastajaa, jolle velka olisi maksettava, maksettakoon velka Herralle, se on papille, ja sitä paitsi sovitus-oinas, jolla toimitetaan syynalaiselle sovitus.

But if the man have no kinsman to whom restitution could be made for the trespass, then shall the trespass which is restored unto the Lord, belong to the priest; besides the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.

9 Ja jokainen anti, mikä hyvänsä israelilaisten papille tuomista pyhistä lahjoista, olkoon papin oma.

And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.

10 Ja jokaisen pyhät lahjat olkoot papin omat; mitä joku antaa papille, se olkoon papin oma."

And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth to the priest, shall belong to him.

11 Ja Herra puhui Moosekselle sanoen:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

12 "Puhu israelilaisille ja sano heille: jos jonkun miehen vaimo on pettänyt miehensä ja ollut hänelle uskoton

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If the wife of any man go aside, and commit a trespass against him,

13 ja joku on maannut hänen kanssaan eikä hänen miehensä ole saanut sitä tietää ja vaimo on saanut sen salatuksi, vaikka hän on saastuttanut itsensä, eikä ole todistajaa häntä vastaan eikä häntä ole teosta tavattu,

And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hidden from the eyes of her husband, because she hath been secretly defiled; and there be no witness against her, and she have not been detected and in the fact;

14 mutta luulevaisuuden henki on vallannut miehen ja hän luulee vaimoansa, joka onkin saastuttanut itsensä, tahi jos luulevaisuuden henki on vallannut miehen ja hän luulee vaimoansa, vaikka tämä ei ole saastuttanut itseänsä,

And the spirit of jealousy come over him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she have been defiled; or the spirit of jealousy come over him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she have not been defiled:

15 niin tuokoon mies vaimonsa papin eteen ja uhrilahjana hänen puolestaan kymmenennen osan eefa-mittaa ohrajauhoja, mutta älköön hän sen päälle vuodattako öljyä älköönkä panko suitsuketta, sillä se on luulevaisuusuhri, muistutusuhri, joka johdattaa muistoon pahan teon.

Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley-meal; he shall not pour any oil upon it, nor put any frankincense thereupon; for it is a meat-offering of jealousy, a meat-offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

16 Ja pappi tuokoon vaimon ja asettakoon hänet Herran eteen.

And the priest shall bring her near, and place her before the Lord;

17 Ja pappi ottakoon pyhää vettä saviastiaan, ja sitten pappi ottakoon tomua asumuksen lattialta ja pankoon veteen.

And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water;

18 Ja pappi asettakoon vaimon Herran eteen, päästäköön vaimon tukan hajalle ja asettakoon hänen käsiinsä muistutusuhrin, se on luulevaisuusuhrin, ja papin kädessä olkoon katkera kirovesi.

And the priest shall place the woman before the Lord, and uncover the woman's head, and put upon her hands the meat-offering of memorial, it is the meat-offering of jealousy; and in the hand of the priest shall be the bitter waters that bring the curse.

19 Ja pappi vannottakoon vaimoa ja sanokoon hänelle: 'Jos ei kukaan ole maannut sinun kanssasi etkä ole pettänyt miestäsi saastuttamalla itseäsi, niin älköön tämä katkera kirovesi sinua vahingoittako.

And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and he shall say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness behind thy husband: then be thou free from these bitter waters that bring the curse.

20 Mutta jos olet pettänyt miehesi ja saastuttanut itsesi ja joku muu kuin miehesi on maannut sinun kanssasi,

But if thou hast gone aside behind thy husband, and if thou hast been defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband: —

21 niin' -pappi vannottakoon vaimoa kirovalalla ja pappi sanokoon vaimolle-'tehköön Herra sinun nimesi kiroukseksi ja sadatukseksi sinun kansasi keskuudessa, kuihduttakoon Herra sinun lanteesi ja paisuttakoon vatsasi;

And the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of imprecation, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The Lord then make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the Lord doth cause thy thigh to fall away, and thy belly to swell;

22 menköön tämä kirovesi sinun sisuksiisi, niin että vatsasi paisuu ja lanteesi kuihtuvat.' Ja vaimo sanokoon: 'Amen, Amen'.

And these waters that bring the curse shall go into thy bowels, to cause the belly to swell, and the thigh to fall away; and the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

23 Ja pappi kirjoittakoon nämä kiroukset ja huuhtokoon kirjoituksen kiroveteen.

And the priest shall write these curses on a roll, and he shall blot them out with the bitter waters.

24 Sitten hän juottakoon vaimolla sen katkeran kiroveden, ja menköön kirovesi häneen, tuskaksi hänelle.

And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter waters that bring the curse: and the waters that bring the curse shall enter into her for bitterness.

25 Ja pappi ottakoon vaimon kädestä luulevaisuusuhrin ja toimittakoon uhrin heilutuksen Herran edessä ja tuokoon sen alttarille.

And the priest shall take out of the woman's hand the meat-offering of jealousy, and he shall wave the meat-offering before the Lord, and bring it near to the altar:

26 Ja pappi ottakoon uhrista kourallisen alttariuhriosaksi ja polttakoon sen alttarilla ja juottakoon sitten vaimolla veden.

And the priest shall take a handful from the meat-offering, as its memorial, and burn it upon the altar, and after that shall he cause the woman to drink the water.

27 Ja kun hän on juottanut vaimolla veden, niin, jos hän on saastuttanut itsensä ja ollut miehelleen uskoton, menee kirovesi häneen, hänelle tuskaksi, ja hänen vatsansa paisuu ja lanteensa kuihtuvat, ja vaimon nimi tulee kiroukseksi hänen kansansa keskuudessa.

And when he hath made her drink the water, then shall it come to pass, if she have been defiled, and have committed a trespass against her husband, that the waters that bring the curse shall enter into her, for bitterness, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away; and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

28 Mutta jos vaimo ei ole saastuttanut itseänsä, vaan on puhdas, ei hän vahingoitu, vaan pysyy hedelmällisenä.

And if the woman have not been defiled, but be clean: then shall she remain unharmed, and she shall conceive seed.

29 Tämä on laki luulevaisuudesta. Jos vaimo pettää miehensä ja saastuttaa itsensä,

This is the law of jealousies, when a woman goeth aside behind her husband, and hath been defiled;

30 tai jos jonkun valtaa luulevaisuuden henki ja hän luulee vaimoansa, niin hän asettakoon vaimonsa Herran eteen, ja pappi tehköön vaimolle kaiken tämän lain mukaan.

Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh over him, and he be jealous of his wife; and he shall place the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall do unto her altogether according to this law.

31 Niin mies olkoon syyllisyydestä vapaa, mutta vaimo kantakoon syyllisyytensä."

And the man shall be guiltless from iniquity; but this woman shall bear her iniquity.
