Nehemian 12
1 Nämä olivat ne papit ja leeviläiset, jotka lähtivät Serubbaabelin, Sealtielin pojan, ja Jeesuan kanssa: Seraja, Jeremia, Esra,
Now these [are] the priests and the Levites that went up with Zorobabel the son of Salathiel and Jesus: Saraia, Jeremia, Esdra,
2 Amarja, Malluk, Hattus,
Amaria, Maluch,
3 Sekanja, Rehum, Meremot,
Sechenia.
4 Iddo, Ginnetoi, Abia,
5 Miijamin, Maadja, Bilga,
6 Semaja, Joojarib, Jedaja,
7 Sallu, Aamok, Hilkia ja Jedaja. Nämä olivat pappien ja veljiensä päämiehet Jeesuan aikana.
These [were] the chiefs of the priests, and their brethren in the days of Jesus.
8 Ja leeviläiset olivat: Jeesua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Seerebja, Juuda ja Mattanja, joka yhdessä veljiensä kanssa johti kiitosveisua;
And the Levites [were], Jesus, Banui, Cadmiel, Sarabia, Jodae, Matthania: he [was] over the bands,
9 ja heidän veljensä Bakbukja ja Unni seisoivat vastapäätä heitä tehtäviään suorittamassa.
and his brethren [were appointed] to the daily courses.
10 Jeesualle syntyi Joojakim, Joojakimille syntyi Eljasib, Eljasibille syntyi Joojada,
And Jesus begot Joakim, and Joakim begot Eliasib, and Eliasib [begot] Jodae,
11 Joojadalle syntyi Joonatan ja Joonatanille syntyi Jaddua.
and Jodae begot Jonathan, and Jonathan begot Jadu.
12 Joojakimin aikana olivat seuraavat papit perhekunta-päämiehinä: Serajalla Meraja, Jeremialla Hananja,
And in the days of Joakim, his brethren the priests and the heads of families [were, belonging] to Saraia, Amaria; to Jeremia, Anania;
13 Esralla Mesullam, Amarjalla Joohanan,
to Esdra, Mesulam; to Amaria, Joanan;
14 Mallukilla Joonatan, Sebanjalla Joosef,
to Amaluch, Jonathan; to Sechenia, Joseph;
15 Haarimilla Adna, Merajotilla Helkai,
to Are, Mannas; to Marioth, Elcai;
16 Iddolla Sakarja, Ginnetonilla Mesullam,
to Adadai, Zacharia; to Ganathoth, Mesolam;
17 Abialla Sikri, Minjaminilla, Mooadjalla Piltai,
to Abia, Zechri; to Miamin, Maadai; to Pheleti, [one];
18 Bilgalla Sammua, Semajalla Joonatan,
to Balgas, Samue; to Semia, Jonathan;
19 Joojaribilla Mattenai, Jedajalla Ussi,
to Joarib, Matthanai; to Edio, Ozi;
20 Sallailla Kallai, Aamokilla Eeber,
to Salai, Callai; to Amec, Abed;
21 Hilkialla Hasabja ja Jedajalla Netanel.
to Elkia, Asabias; to Jedeiu, Nathanael.
22 Leeviläisistä merkittiin Eljasibin, Joojadan, Joohananin ja Jadduan aikana perhekunta-päämiehet muistiin; ja samoin papit persialaisen Daarejaveksen hallitusaikana.
The Levites in the days of Eliasib, Joada, and Joa, and Joanan, and Idua, [were] recorded heads of families: also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian.
23 Leevin jälkeläisistä ovat perhekunta-päämiehet merkittyinä aikakirjaan Joohananin, Eljasibin pojan, aikaan asti.
And the sons of Levi, heads of families, [were] written in the book of the chronicles, even to the days of Joanan son of Elisue.
24 Ja leeviläisten päämiehet olivat Hasabja, Seerebja ja Jeesua, Kadmielin poika, sekä heidän veljensä, jotka seisoivat heitä vastapäätä ylistämässä ja kiittämässä, niinkuin Jumalan mies Daavid oli käskenyt, osasto osaston vieressä;
And the heads of the Levites [were] Asabia, and Sarabia, and Jesu: and the sons of Cadmiel, and their brethren over against them, were to sing hymns of praise, according to the commandment of David the man of God, course by course.
25 ja Mattanja, Bakbukja, Obadja, Mesullam, Talmon ja Akkub, ovenvartijat, jotka vartioivat porttien varastohuoneita.
When I gathered the porters,
26 Nämä olivat Joojakimin, Jeesuan pojan, Joosadakin pojanpojan, aikalaisia ja käskynhaltija Nehemian ja pappi Esran, kirjanoppineen, aikalaisia.
[it was] in the days of Joakim son of Jesus, son of Josedec, and in the days of Neemia: and Esdras the priest [was] scribe.
27 Kun Jerusalemin muuri oli vihittävä, haettiin leeviläiset kaikista heidän asuinpaikoistansa ja tuotiin Jerusalemiin viettämään vihkimäjuhlaa iloiten, kiitosvirsiä ja lauluja laulaen, kymbaaleja, harppuja ja kanteleita soittaen.
And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep a feast of dedication and gladness with thanksgiving, and they sounded cymbals with songs, and [had] lutes and harps.
28 Niin kokoontuivat veisaajain pojat Lakeudelta, Jerusalemin ympäristöstä, netofalaisten kylistä,
And the sons of the singers were assembled both from the neighbourhood round about to Jerusalem, and from the villages,
29 Beet-Gilgalista ja Geban ja Asmavetin peltomailta, sillä veisaajat olivat rakentaneet itselleen kyliä Jerusalemin ympäristöön.
and from the country: for the singers built themselves villages by Jerusalem.
30 Papit ja leeviläiset puhdistautuivat ja puhdistivat kansan sekä portit ja muurin.
And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and they purified the people, and the porters, and the wall.
31 Sitten minä vein Juudan päämiehet rinteelle, muurin yläpuolelle, ja järjestin kaksi suurta laulukuntaa ja juhlakulkuetta muurin yläpuolelle, oikealle kädelle, Lantaportille päin.
And they brought up the princes of Juda on the wall, and they appointed two great [companies] for thanksgiving, and they passed on the right hand on the wall of the dung-gate.

And after them went Osaia, and half the princes of Juda,
33 sekä Asarja, Esra, Mesullam,
and Azarias, and Esdras, and Mesollam,
34 Juuda, Benjamin, Semaja ja Jeremia
and Juda, and Benjamin, and Samaias and Jeremia.
35 sekä pappien poikia torvineen, ja Sakarja, Joonatanin poika, joka oli Semajan poika, joka Mattanjan poika, joka Miikajan poika, joka Sakkurin poika, joka Aasafin poika,
And [some] of the sons of the priest with trumpets, Zacharias son of Jonathan, son of Samaias, son of Matthania, son of Michaia, son of Zacchur, son of Asaph:
36 sekä hänen veljensä Semaja, Asarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Netanel, Juuda ja Hanani Daavidin, Jumalan miehen, soittimia kantaen; ja Esra, kirjanoppinut, kulki heidän edellään.
and his brethren, Samaia, and Oziel, Gelol, Jama, Aia, Nathanael, and Juda, Anani, to praise with the hymns of David the man of God; and Esdras the scribe [was] before them,
37 He menivät Lähdeportin ohi ja nousivat suoraan Daavidin kaupungin portaita sinne, mistä noustaan muurille, Daavidin palatsin yläpuolelle, aina Vesiportille asti idässä.
at the gate, to praise before them, and they went up by the steps of the city of David, in the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even to the water-gate
38 Toinen laulukunta kulki vastakkaiseen suuntaan, ja sen jäljessä minä ja toinen puoli kansaa, muurin yläpuolitse, Uunitornin yläpuolitse, aina Leveälle muurille asti,
39 ja Efraimin-portin yläpuolitse ja Vanhanportin, Kalaportin, Hananelin-tornin ja Hammea-tornin ohitse aina Lammasportille saakka; ja he asettuivat Vankilaportin luokse.
of Ephraim, and to the fish-gate, and by the tower of Anameel, and as far as the sheep-gate.
40 Sitten molemmat laulukunnat asettuivat Jumalan temppeliin, ja samoin minä ja toinen puoli esimiehiä minun kanssani,
41 sekä papit Eljakim, Maaseja, Minjamin, Miikaja, Eljoenai, Sakarja ja Hananja torvineen,
42 ja Maaseja, Semaja, Eleasar, Ussi, Joohanan, Malkia, Eelam ja Eser. Veisaajat kaiuttivat virsiään, ja Jisrahja oli johtajana.
And the singers were heard, and were numbered.
43 Ja he uhrasivat sinä päivänä suuria uhreja ja iloitsivat, sillä Jumala oli suuresti ilahuttanut heitä; myöskin vaimot ja lapset iloitsivat. Ja ilo kuului Jerusalemista kauas.
And in that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced; for God had made them very joyful: and their wives and their children rejoiced: and the joy in Jerusalem was heard from afar off.
44 Sinä päivänä asetettiin miehiä valvomaan varastokammioita, joissa antimet, uutiset ja kymmenykset säilytettiin. Niihin oli koottava kaupunkien peltomailta papeille ja leeviläisille lain mukaan tulevat osuudet. Sillä Juuda iloitsi palvelusta toimittavista papeista ja leeviläisistä.
And in that day they appointed men over the treasuries, for the treasures, the first fruits, and the tithes, and [for] the chiefs of the cities who were assembled amongst them, [to furnish] portions for the priests and Levites: for [there was] joy in Juda over the priests and over the Levites that waited.
45 Ja nämä toimittivat tehtävänsä Jumalaansa palvellen ja puhdistuksia suorittaen, samoin veisaajat ja ovenvartijat, niinkuin Daavid ja hänen poikansa Salomo olivat käskeneet.
And they kept the charges of their God, and the charges of the purification, and [ordered] the singers and the porters, according to the commandments of David and his son Solomon.
46 Sillä jo muinoin, Daavidin ja Aasafin aikana, oli veisaajain päämiehiä, ja veisattiin ylistys-ja kiitosvirsiä Jumalalle.
For in the days of David Asaph was originally first of the singers, and [they sang] hymns and praise to God.
47 Ja koko Israel antoi Serubbaabelin ja Nehemian aikana veisaajille ja ovenvartijoille heidän osuutensa, heidän jokapäiväiset tarpeensa; he pyhittivät lahjoja myöskin leeviläisille, ja leeviläiset pyhittivät lahjoja Aaronin pojille.
And all Israel in the days of Zorobabel, and in the days of Neemias, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, a daily rate: and consecrated them to the Levites: and the Levites consecrated them to the sons of Aaron.
