Luukkaan 6
1 Niin tapahtui eräänä sapattina, että hän kulki viljavainioiden halki, ja hänen opetuslapsensa katkoivat tähkäpäitä, hiersivät niitä käsissään ja söivät.
And it came to passe on a second solemne Sabbath, that hee went through the corne fieldes, and his disciples plucked the eares of corne, and did eate, and rub them in their hands.
2 Silloin muutamat fariseuksista sanoivat: "Miksi teette, mitä ei ole lupa tehdä sapattina?"
And certaine of the Pharises sayde vnto them, Why doe ye that which is not lawfull to doe on the Sabbath dayes?
3 Mutta Jeesus vastasi heille ja sanoi: "Ettekö ole lukeneet, mitä Daavid teki, kun hänen ja hänen seuralaistensa oli nälkä,
Then Iesus answered them, and said, Haue ye not read this, that Dauid did when he himselfe was an hungred, and they which were with him,
4 kuinka hän meni Jumalan huoneeseen, otti näkyleivät ja söi ja antoi seuralaisilleenkin, vaikkei niitä ollut lupa syödä muiden kuin ainoastaan pappien?"
Howe he went into the house of God, and tooke, and ate the shewbread, and gaue also to them which were with him, which was not lawful to eate, but for the Priests onely?
5 Ja hän sanoi heille: "Ihmisen Poika on sapatin herra".
And he sayd vnto them, The Sonne of man is Lord also of the Sabbath day.
6 Ja toisena sapattina hän meni synagoogaan ja opetti; ja siellä oli mies, jonka oikea käsi oli kuivettunut.
It came to passe also on another Sabbath, that hee entred into the Synagogue, and taught, and there was a man, whose right hand was dryed vp.
7 Ja keksiäkseen jotakin, mistä häntä syyttäisivät, kirjanoppineet ja fariseukset pitivät häntä silmällä, parantaisiko hän sapattina.
And the Scribes and Pharises watched him, whether he would heale on the Sabbath day, that they might finde an accusation against him.
8 Mutta hän tiesi heidän ajatuksensa ja sanoi miehelle, jonka käsi oli kuivettunut: "Nouse ja astu esille". Ja hän nousi ja astui esille.
But he knew their thoughts, and sayd to the man which had the withered hand, Arise, and stand vp in the middes. And hee arose, and stoode vp.
9 Niin Jeesus sanoi heille: "Minä kysyn teiltä: kumpi on luvallista sapattina: hyvääkö tehdä, vai tehdä pahaa, pelastaako henki, vai hukuttaa?"
Then sayd Iesus vnto them, I will aske you a question, Whether is it lawfull on the Sabbath dayes to doe good, or to doe euill? to saue life, or to destroy?
10 Ja hän katsoi ympärilleen heihin kaikkiin ja sanoi miehelle: "Ojenna kätesi". Mies teki niin, ja hänen kätensä tuli jälleen terveeksi.
And he behelde them all in compasse, and sayd vnto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he did so, and his hand was restored againe, as whole as the other.
11 Mutta he vimmastuivat kovin ja puhelivat keskenään, mitä heidän olisi tehtävä Jeesukselle.
Then they were filled full of madnes, and communed one with another, what they might doe to Iesus.
12 Niin tapahtui niinä päivinä, että hän lähti vuorelle rukoilemaan; ja hän oli siellä kaiken yötä rukoillen Jumalaa.
And it came to passe in those dayes, that he went into a mountaine to praye, and spent the night in prayer to God.
13 Ja päivän tultua hän kutsui tykönsä opetuslapsensa ja valitsi heistä kaksitoista, joille hän myös antoi apostolin nimen:
And when it was day, he called his disciples, and of them he chose twelue which also he called Apostles.
14 Simonin, jolle hän myös antoi nimen Pietari, ja Andreaan, hänen veljensä, ja Jaakobin ja Johanneksen, ja Filippuksen ja Bartolomeuksen,
(Simon whome he named also Peter, and Andrew his brother, Iames and Iohn, Philippe and Bartlemewe:
15 ja Matteuksen ja Tuomaan, ja Jaakobin, Alfeuksen pojan, ja Simonin, jota kutsuttiin Kiivailijaksi,
Matthewe and Thomas: Iames the sonne of Alpheus, and Simon called Zelous,
16 ja Juudaan, Jaakobin pojan, sekä Juudas Iskariotin, josta tuli kavaltaja.
Iudas Iames brother, and Iudas Iscariot, which also was the traitour.)
17 Ja hän astui alas heidän kanssaan ja seisahtui lakealle paikalle; ja siellä oli suuri joukko hänen opetuslapsiaan ja paljon kansaa kaikesta Juudeasta ja Jerusalemista ja Tyyron ja Siidonin rantamaasta. Nämä olivat saapuneet kuulemaan häntä ja parantuakseen taudeistansa.
Then he came downe with them, and stood in a plaine place, with the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Iudea, and Hierusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyrus and Sidon, which came to heare him, and to be healed of their diseases:
18 Ja myös ne, jotka olivat saastaisten henkien vaivaamia, tulivat terveiksi.
And they that were vexed with foule spirits, and they were healed.
19 Ja kaikki kansa tahtoi päästä koskettamaan häntä, koska hänestä lähti voima, joka paransi kaikki.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went vertue out of him, and healed them all.
20 Ja hän nosti silmänsä opetuslastensa puoleen ja sanoi: "Autuaita olette te, köyhät, sillä teidän on Jumalan valtakunta.
And hee lifted vp his eyes vpon his disciples, and sayd, Blessed be ye poore: for yours is the kingdome of God.
21 Autuaita te, jotka nyt isoatte, sillä teidät ravitaan! Autuaita te, jotka nyt itkette, sillä te saatte nauraa!
Blessed are ye that hunger nowe: for ye shalbe satisfied: blessed are ye that weepe now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Autuaita olette te, kun ihmiset vihaavat teitä ja erottavat teidät yhteydestään ja herjaavat teitä ja pyyhkivät pois teidän nimenne ikäänkuin jonkin pahan-Ihmisen Pojan tähden.
Blessed are ye when men hate you, and when they separate you, and reuile you, and put out your name as euill, for the Sonne of mans sake.
23 Iloitkaa sinä päivänä, riemuun ratketkaa; sillä katso, teidän palkkanne on suuri taivaassa; sillä näin tekivät heidän isänsä profeetoille.
Reioyce ye in that day, and be glad: for beholde, your reward is great in heauen: for after this maner their fathers did to the Prophets.
24 Mutta voi teitä, te rikkaat, sillä te olette jo saaneet lohdutuksenne!
But wo be to you that are rich: for ye haue receiued your consolation.
25 Voi teitä, jotka nyt olette kylläiset, sillä teidän on oleva nälkä! Voi teitä, jotka nyt nauratte, sillä te saatte murehtia ja itkeä!
Wo be to you that are full: for ye shall hunger. Wo be to you that now laugh: for ye shall wayle and weepe.
26 Voi teitä, kun kaikki ihmiset puhuvat teistä hyvää! Sillä niin tekivät heidän isänsä väärille profeetoille.
Wo be to you when all men speake well of you: for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 Mutta teille, jotka kuulette, minä sanon: rakastakaa vihollisianne, tehkää hyvää niille, jotka teitä vihaavat,
But I say vnto you which heare, Loue your enemies: doe well to them which hate you.
28 siunatkaa niitä, jotka teitä kiroavat, rukoilkaa niiden edestä, jotka teitä parjaavat.
Blesse them that curse you, and pray for them which hurt you.
29 Jos joku lyö sinua poskelle, tarjoa hänelle toinenkin, ja jos joku ottaa sinulta vaipan, älä häneltä kiellä ihokastasikaan.
And vnto him that smiteth thee on ye one cheeke, offer also the other: and him that taketh away thy cloke, forbid not to take thy coate also.
30 Anna jokaiselle, joka sinulta anoo, äläkä vaadi takaisin siltä, joka sinun omaasi ottaa.
Giue to euery man that asketh of thee: and of him that taketh away the things that be thine, aske them not againe.
31 Ja niinkuin te tahdotte ihmisten teille tekevän, niin tehkää tekin heille.
And as ye would that men should doe to you, so doe ye to them likewise.
32 Ja jos te rakastatte niitä, jotka teitä rakastavat, mitä kiitosta teille siitä tulee? Rakastavathan syntisetkin niitä, jotka heitä rakastavat.
For if yee loue them which loue you, what thanke shall ye haue? for euen the sinners loue those that loue them.
33 Ja jos teette hyvää niille, jotka teille hyvää tekevät, mitä kiitosta teille siitä tulee? Niinhän syntisetkin tekevät.
And if ye do good for them which do good for you, what thanke shall ye haue? for euen the sinners doe the same.
34 Ja jos te lainaatte niille, joilta toivotte saavanne takaisin, mitä kiitosta teille siitä tulee? Syntisetkin lainaavat syntisille saadakseen saman verran takaisin.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receiue, what thanke shall yee haue? for euen the sinners lend to sinners, to receiue the like.
35 Vaan rakastakaa vihollisianne ja tehkää hyvää ja lainatkaa, toivomatta saavanne mitään takaisin; niin teidän palkkanne on oleva suuri, ja te tulette Korkeimman lapsiksi, sillä hän on hyvä kiittämättömille ja pahoille.
Wherefore loue ye your enemies, and doe good, and lend, looking for nothing againe, and your rewarde shalbe great, and ye shalbe the children of the most High: for he is kinde vnto the vnkinde, and to the euill.
36 Olkaa armahtavaiset, niinkuin teidän Isänne on armahtavainen.
Be ye therefore mercifull, as your Father also is mercifull.
37 Älkääkä tuomiko, niin ei teitäkään tuomita; älkää kadotustuomiota lausuko, niin ei teillekään kadotustuomiota lausuta. Antakaa anteeksi, niin teillekin anteeksi annetaan.
Iudge not, and ye shall not be iudged: condemne not, and ye shall not bee condemned: forgiue, and ye shalbe forgiuen.
38 Antakaa, niin teille annetaan. Hyvä mitta, sullottu, pudistettu ja kukkurainen, annetaan teidän helmaanne; sillä millä mitalla te mittaatte, sillä mitataan teille takaisin."
Giue, and it shalbe giuen vnto you: a good measure, pressed downe, shaken together and running ouer shall men giue into your bosome: for with what measure ye mete, with the same shall men mete to you againe.
39 Hän sanoi heille myös vertauksen: "Eihän sokea voi sokeaa taluttaa? Eivätkö molemmat lankea kuoppaan?
And he spake a parable vnto them, Can the blinde leade the blinde? shall they not both fall into the ditche?
40 Ei ole opetuslapsi opettajaansa parempi; täysin oppineena jokainen on oleva niinkuin hänen opettajansa.
The disciple is not aboue his master: but whosoeuer will be a perfect disciple, shall bee as his master.
41 Kuinka näet rikan, joka on veljesi silmässä, mutta et huomaa malkaa omassa silmässäsi?
And why seest thou a mote in thy brothers eye, and considerest not the beame that is in thine owne eye?
42 Kuinka saatat sanoa veljellesi: 'Veljeni, annas, minä otan pois rikan, joka on silmässäsi', sinä, joka et näe malkaa omassa silmässäsi? Sinä ulkokullattu, ota ensin malka omasta silmästäsi, sitten sinä näet ottaa pois rikan, joka on veljesi silmässä.
Either howe canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou seest not the beame that is in thine owne eye? Hypocrite, cast out the beame out of thine owne eye first, and then shalt thou see, perfectly to pull out the mote that is in thy brothers eye.
43 Sillä ei ole hyvää puuta, joka tekee huonon hedelmän, eikä taas huonoa puuta, joka tekee hyvän hedelmän;
For it is not a good tree that bringeth foorth euill fruite: neither an euill tree, that bringeth foorth good fruite.
44 sillä jokainen puu tunnetaan hedelmästään. Eihän viikunoita koota orjantappuroista, eikä viinirypäleitä korjata orjanruusupensaasta.
For euery tree is knowen by his owne fruite: for neither of thornes gather men figges, nor of bushes gather they grapes.
45 Hyvä ihminen tuo sydämensä hyvän runsaudesta esiin hyvää, ja paha tuo pahastansa esiin pahaa; sillä sydämen kyllyydestä suu puhuu.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth foorth good, and an euill man out of the euill treasure of his heart bringeth foorth euill: for of the aboundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 Miksi te huudatte minulle: 'Herra, Herra!' ettekä tee, mitä minä sanon?
But why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I speake?
47 Jokainen, joka tulee minun tyköni ja kuulee minun sanani ja tekee niiden mukaan-minä osoitan teille, kenen kaltainen hän on.
Whosoeuer commeth to mee, and heareth my wordes, and doeth the same, I will shewe you to whome he is like:
48 Hän on miehen kaltainen, joka huonetta rakentaessaan kaivoi syvään ja laski perustuksen kalliolle; kun sitten tulva tuli, syöksähti virta sitä huonetta vastaan, mutta ei voinut sitä horjuttaa, sillä se oli hyvästi rakennettu.
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deepe, and layde the fundation on a rocke: and when the waters arose, the flood beat vpon that house, and coulde not shake it: for it was grounded vpon a rocke.
49 Mutta joka kuulee eikä tee, se on miehen kaltainen, joka perustusta panematta rakensi huoneensa maan pinnalle; ja virta syöksähti sitä vastaan, ja heti se sortui, ja sen huoneen kukistuminen oli suuri."
But hee that heareth and doeth not, is like a man that built an house vpon the earth without foundation, against which the flood did beate, and it fell by and by: and the fall of that house was great.
