Luukkaan 4
1 Sitten Jeesus täynnä Pyhää Henkeä palasi Jordanilta; ja Henki kuljetti häntä erämaassa,
And Jesus, full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, tempted by the devil forty days.
2 ja perkele kiusasi häntä neljäkymmentä päivää. Eikä hän syönyt mitään niinä päivinä, mutta kun ne olivat päättyneet, tuli hänen nälkä.
And He ate nothing during those days; and they having been completed, He afterward hungered.
3 Niin perkele sanoi hänelle: "Jos sinä olet Jumalan Poika, niin sano tälle kivelle, että se muuttuu leiväksi".
And the devil said to Him, If thou art the Son of God, speak to this stone, in order that it may become bread.
4 Jeesus vastasi hänelle: "Kirjoitettu on: 'Ei ihminen elä ainoastaan leivästä'."
And Jesus responded to him, saying; It has been written, That man shall not live upon bread alone, but upon every word of God.
5 Ja perkele vei hänet korkealle vuorelle ja näytti hänelle yhdessä tuokiossa kaikki maailman valtakunnat
And the devil leading Him up, he showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 ja sanoi hänelle: "Sinulle minä annan kaiken tämän valtapiirin ja sen loiston, sillä minun haltuuni se on annettu, ja minä annan sen, kenelle tahdon.
And the devil said to Him, I will give all the authority and glories of these to thee: because it has been given unto me: and I give it to whom I may wish;
7 Jos sinä siis kumarrut minun eteeni, niin tämä kaikki on oleva sinun."
then if thou mayest worship before me all shall belong to thee.
8 Jeesus vastasi ja sanoi hänelle: "Kirjoitettu on: 'Sinun pitää kumartaman Herraa, sinun Jumalaasi, ja häntä ainoata palveleman'."
And Jesus responding said to him; It has been written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve.
9 Niin hän vei hänet Jerusalemiin ja asetti hänet pyhäkön harjalle ja sanoi hänelle: "Jos sinä olet Jumalan Poika, niin heittäydy tästä alas;
And he led Him into Jerusalem, and placed Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, If thou art the Son of God cast thyself down from thence;
10 sillä kirjoitettu on: 'Hän antaa enkeleilleen käskyn sinusta, että he varjelevat sinua',
for it has been written, That He will give His angels charge concerning thee, in order to guard thee,
11 ja: 'He kantavat sinua käsillänsä, ettet jalkaasi kiveen loukkaisi'."
and they will bear thee upon their hands, lest at any time thou mayest dash thy foot against a stone.
12 Jeesus vastasi ja sanoi hänelle: "Sanottu on: 'Älä kiusaa Herraa, sinun Jumalaasi'."
And Jesus responding said to him; That it has been said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 Ja kun oli kaiken kiusattavansa kiusannut, poistui perkele hänen luotaan ajaksi.
And the devil having perfected every temptation, departed from Him for a season.
14 Ja Jeesus palasi Hengen voimassa Galileaan; ja sanoma hänestä levisi kaikkiin ympärillä oleviin seutuihin.
And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee. And the fame concerning Him went throughout the whole country.
15 Ja hän opetti heidän synagoogissaan, ja kaikki ylistivät häntä.
And He was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Ja hän saapui Nasaretiin, jossa hänet oli kasvatettu, ja meni tapansa mukaan sapatinpäivänä synagoogaan ja nousi lukemaan.
And He came into Nazareth, where He was brought up: and according to the custom to Him, He came into the synagogue on the Sabbath-day, and stood up to read.
17 Niin hänelle annettiin profeetta Esaiaan kirja, ja kun hän avasi kirjan, löysi hän sen paikan, jossa oli kirjoitettuna:
And the Book of Isaiah the prophet was given to Him; and having opened the book, He found the place where it was written,
18 "Herran Henki on minun päälläni, sillä hän on voidellut minut julistamaan evankeliumia köyhille; hän on lähettänyt minut saarnaamaan vangituille vapautusta ja sokeille näkönsä saamista, päästämään sorretut vapauteen,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, and to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 saarnaamaan Herran otollista vuotta".
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Ja käärittyään kirjan kokoon hän antoi sen palvelijalle ja istuutui; ja kaikkien synagoogassa olevien silmät olivat häneen kiinnitetyt.
And having closed the book, and giving it back to the officer, He sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on Him.
21 Niin hän rupesi puhumaan heille: "Tänä päivänä tämä kirjoitus on käynyt toteen teidän korvainne kuullen".
And He began to say to them; This day has this Scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
22 Ja kaikki lausuivat hänestä hyvän todistuksen ja ihmettelivät niitä armon sanoja, jotka hänen suustansa lähtivät; ja he sanoivat: "Eikö tämä ole Joosefin poika?"
And they all continued to witness to Him, and wonder at the words of grace proceeding out from His mouth: and say, Is not this the son of Joseph?
23 Niin hän sanoi heille: "Kaiketi aiotte sanoa minulle tämän sananlaskun: 'Parantaja, paranna itsesi'; 'tee täälläkin, kotikaupungissasi, niitä suuria tekoja, joita olemme kuulleet tapahtuneen Kapernaumissa'."
And He said to them, You truly speak to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: so many things as we heard having been done in Capernaum, do also here in thy own country.
24 Ja hän sanoi: "Totisesti minä sanon teille: ei kukaan profeetta ole otollinen kotikaupungissaan.
And He said, Truly I say unto you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
25 Minä sanon teille totuudessa: monta leskeä oli Eliaan aikana Israelissa, kun taivas oli suljettuna kolme vuotta ja kuusi kuukautta ja suuri nälkä tuli kaikkeen maahan,
And in truth I say unto you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah. When the heaven was shut up three years and six months, how the famine was great over all the land;
26 eikä Eliasta lähetetty kenenkään tykö heistä, vaan ainoastaan leskivaimon tykö Siidonin-maan Sareptaan.
and Elijah was sent to none of them, except to a widow woman in Sarepta of Sidon.
27 Ja monta pitalista miestä oli Israelissa profeetta Elisan aikana, eikä kukaan heistä tullut puhdistetuksi, vaan ainoastaan Naiman, syyrialainen."
And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha; and none of them were cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.
28 Tämän kuullessaan kaikki, jotka olivat synagoogassa, tulivat kiukkua täyteen
And all in the synagogue, hearing these things, were filled with wrath.

And rising up, they cast Him out of the city, and were leading Him to the brink of the mountain on which their city was built, to hurl Him down;

and He having passed through the midst of them went away.
31 Ja hän meni alas Kapernaumiin, Galilean kaupunkiin, ja opetti kansaa sapattina.
And He came down into Capernaum, a city of Galilee, And He was teaching them on the Sabbath.
32 Ja he olivat hämmästyksissään hänen opetuksestansa, sillä hänen puheessansa oli voima.
And they were astonished at His teaching; because His word was with authority.
33 Ja synagoogassa oli mies, jossa oli saastaisen riivaajan henki. Tämä huusi suurella äänellä:
And in the synagogue there was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried with a great voice,
34 "Voi, mitä sinulla on meidän kanssamme tekemistä, Jeesus Nasaretilainen? Oletko tullut meitä tuhoamaan? Minä tunnen sinut, kuka olet, sinä Jumalan Pyhä."
saying, Let me alone; what is there to us and to thee, O Jesus the Nazarene? Hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
35 Niin Jeesus nuhteli häntä sanoen: "Vaikene ja lähde hänestä". Ja riivaaja viskasi hänet maahan heidän keskelleen ja lähti hänestä, häntä ollenkaan vahingoittamatta.
Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent and come out from him; and the demon having thrown him down in the midst came out from him, not having injured him.
36 Ja heidät kaikki valtasi hämmästys, ja he puhuivat keskenään sanoen: "Mitä tämä puhe on, sillä hän käskee vallalla ja voimalla saastaisia henkiä, ja ne lähtevät ulos?"
And fear came upon them all, and they were talking together to one another, saying, What word is this? because with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 Ja maine hänestä levisi kaikkialle ympäristön seutuihin.
And the report concerning Him was going out into every place in the surrounding country,
38 Niin hän nousi ja meni synagoogasta Simonin kotiin. Ja Simonin anoppi sairasti kovaa kuumetta, ja he rukoilivat Jeesusta hänen puolestansa.
Having arisen up from the synagogue, He came into the house of Simon. And the mother-in-law of Simon was afflicted with a great fever; and they asked Him concerning her.
39 Niin hän meni ja kumartui hänen ylitsensä ja nuhteli kuumetta, ja se lähti hänestä; ja heti vaimo nousi ja palveli heitä.
And He, standing over her, rebuked the fever; and dismissed it; and immediately, having stood up, she continued to minister unto them.
40 Auringon laskiessa kaikki, joilla oli sairaita, mikä missäkin taudissa, veivät ne hänen tykönsä. Ja hän pani kätensä heidän itsekunkin päälle ja paransi heidät.
And the sun having gone down, all so many as had people afflicted with various diseases continued to lead them to Him; and He having put His hands on each one of them, healed them.
41 Myös lähtivät riivaajat ulos monesta, huutaen ja sanoen: "Sinä olet Jumalan Poika!" Mutta hän nuhteli niitä eikä sallinut niiden puhua, koska ne tiesivät hänen olevan Kristuksen.
And the demons continued to go out from many, crying, and saying, Thou art the Christ, the Son of God. And rebuking them, He did not suffer them to speak, because they knew that He was the Christ.
42 Ja päivän tultua hän lähti pois ja meni autioon paikkaan; mutta kansa etsi häntä, ja saavuttuaan hänen luokseen he pidättelivät häntä lähtemästä heidän luotansa.
And it being day, having come out, He departed into a desert place: and the multitudes continued to seek Him; and they came unto Him, and they constrained Him not to depart from them.
43 Mutta hän sanoi heille: "Minun tulee muillekin kaupungeille julistaa Jumalan valtakunnan evankeliumia, sillä sitä varten minä olen lähetetty".
And He said to them, That, it behooveth me to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to many other cities: because unto this I have been sent.
44 Ja hän saarnasi Galilean synagoogissa.
And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
